I came in here yesterday with an antiques/art dealer friend of mine after we had read the stellar reviews and wanted to see this place for ourselves. Believe the hype. Mine is a gem-of-a-shop in the equally gem-of-a-village of Mystic, CT and Michael Walsh, the owner is probably one of the nicest, reasonable, most personable shop owners and dealers you will encounter. We had a great time chatting away with him. If you are like my friend and I and love visiting vintage, retro, salvage shops, where sometimes if you just take your time and dig a little bit, you will seriously find treasure so long as you know what you are looking for and have some creativity and know how to hack or repurpose old items into something completely new, then Mine is definitely worth your while to visit. Prices are extremely reasonable and practically a criminal steal by New York City or Montréal standards and Micheal is the kind of man you can probably negotiate with as well. As is always the case in these types of shops, since inventory is constantly turning over thanks to the estate sales and such where Michael is able to amass his goods, it can be hit or miss. Unfortunately it was a miss for me yesterday(no Fireking Jadeite, vintage Dansk Kobelstyle cookware or elephant motif stool-table) but the only thing I’m sorry about is that I don’t live closer so that I can drop by often and check out what’s there. If I’m ever in Mystic again, I’ll definitely be coming back.

This place was cool. Spent under $ 20 for 6 records, a bracelet, earrings, a birthday card & present for my sister!!! Super fun poking around in this huge store. The man behind the counter was friendly, funny & helpful which is not usual for this type of place.

I’ve been going to Mystic, CT for over 20 years since I was a kid with my parents. I still find it one of my favorite places in the whole world. My girlfriend and I went to a show at Mohegan the previous night and decided to go to Mystic for a day the next day. We had been to Mystic during the summer to experience all the touristy stuff, but were excited to do a «day trip» back there since we were in the area. I’ve probably been to Mystic over 25 times during that 20 year span since my first visit. It was this one time I finally discovered Mine thanks to my GF. I/we usually spend our time over by the Aquarium and Village area and then go over the draw bridge area. But something made my GF ask me to take a turn at an intersection that I hadn’t taken in years because I had been down there before and remember there not being much down there. But this time, we drove by Mine. I’m not sure if I somehow missed it before or how long Mine has been there, but we stopped by and it instantly became one of our absolute favorite stores we’ve ever been to, ever. Keep in mind, I personally am not really into stores like this. I just never have any luck at them usually so I don’t often stop. But my GF loves stuff like this and it made me happy that stopping here would make her happy. Upon walking in, you realize it’s MUCH larger than any other similar store you’ve been in. It has several rooms that are packed full of amazing and rare finds. Trust me, this is NOT one of those«junky» type used stuff stores at all. This place had some amazing things. I fell in love with this black rectangle dish that had three fossil stones on it. I kindly asked the guy sitting at the register(who turned out to be Michael, the owner) what was the best price he could do for me was. He offered me a tremendous price on it and I bought it in cash on the spot. We ended up talking for more than 20 minutes and he knew where I was from in Massachusetts and was just a pure pleasure to talk to. Meanwhile, my GF fell in love with this mirror that she found there. But unfortunately, we didn’t really have the money for it as it was a bit too much. She was so on the fence about it, but we had just spent a lot of money at Mohegan on the show we saw and the hotel we stayed at. So we asked what time Mine was opened until and we said we’d come back before we headed home if she just decided that she«couldn’t live without it». So of course, we came back about an hour later and when she was in the car, we realized we had less money than we thought. We had already talked to Michael(the owner) for about 20 minutes the first time we were in there, so when she went back in, she told him what she had in cash, wanted to see if there was a cheaper version or other mirror she could buy for what she had, but he said he’d be more than happy to sell her the mirror she loved for that amount we had. I’m not sharing the amount out of respect for their business, but it was extremely reasonable and he bent over backwards for her. That mirror is now part of a DIY project she did at our home and it has become one of her favorite things. This is the type of business you want to support. An honest and amazing business selling awesome vintage and timeless pieces run by absolutely amazing people. Michael and his daughter who we met this day are incredibly amazing, so fun to talk to, and run a GREAT store. I’m honestly looking forward to going back to Mystic in a few months and visiting Mine again. This time, I’m guessing my GF will want to rent a U-Haul before we go because she found about 492 things she wanted haha. Huge props to Michael, his staff, and this store. Just amazing. GOTHERE, you will NOT regret it!

This shop is the best thing in Mystic. A definite recommendation from a local! They have tons of used items ranging from jewelry to furniture to dishes. There is something for everyone! What really makes this shop the best are the owners. They are the nicest people and are always around for a chat! They are reasonable with prices and negotiating as well. Go support them! Half of my bedroom furniture came from them and you wouldn’t believe the compliments I receive. Always fun to find those one of a kind items that no one else can replicate.

Absolutely can not say enough good things about the people here and the shop itself, the inventory is ever changing with amazing antique and vintage finds along with custom creations. You can find beautiful tables, vintage typewriters, gorgeous hutches, you name it. Every time I am in Mystic I make sure to stop by and fill up my car, the prices are so reasonable and there are frequent sales as well. Even if you aren’t looking for anything in particular it’s worth it to poke around frequently to look at new items. Love love love this store!

Great shop! Very eclectic mix, always a fun browse. The deals are incredible sometimes– we bought a beautiful mahogany bookcase for $ 85. They run frequent specials to blow out their always changing inventory. The owners are absolutely lovely as well. A real pleasure to shop here.

This place is amazing. They have so many salvaged and scrap pieces, as well as renovated and unique pieces of art from so many materials. Everything is affordable and the selection is insane. My boyfriend and I were just visiting Mystic for the weekend and I drove by three times and commented each time, and he finally gave me the approval(AKA he won’t mind if I spend hours in there) to go. He ended up loving the place too! If you are in town and want to see a great place, looking for thrifty find, vintage pieces, or most especially if you are a crafter/project person like me, GO! At the very least you will be inspired to do something new and probably find the items you need for less than a meal will cost you!

Mine is an addiction. I drive by their shop every day on the way to ours, and every week something catches my eye. Every time I visit, I find something that I can’t live without. Mike has an amazing talent to find the special pieces and share them with us at a price we aren’t afraid to spend. I appreciate that his antique finds are obviously well loved by their previous owners, the personality and patina in the furniture just can’t be reproduced. They are a valued part of the community, and both as a business and as people, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I love this place. Every time I’m visiting friends in Stonington, CT I stop by. Great sterling silver jewelry at great prices. Tons to look at in the cases. I only have two negative remarks about this store: 1) It can get crowded on a sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon(which is really not their fault – they only have so much space). 2) I wish they had a website! If you are in the area – definitely stop by!

This is such a cool place tucked away from downtown Mystic, many interesting and fun antiques and knicknacks can be found here. If you’re prone to impulse purchasing and you’re on a budget, don’t come here!
