I’m a Chocoholic and Munsons rates right up there with the best of them. Living on the West Coast, my East Coaster husband raved about Munson’s for weeks before visiting his family. I was a bit skeptical. Chocolate is a hard thing to get right. So many places use fillers(high fructose corn syrup, hydrogentated crap, impossible to pronounce chemicals), cheap ingredients or just pile on way too much sugar. I’m happy to say Munson’s isn’t one of them. Their chocolate is rich with just the right amount of milk to cacao ratio and no overly sweet aftertaste. When you bite into it for the first time, you can tell the quality of ingredients that have been used. Now onto what I’ve gotten– Chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Oh my! Why is this a seasonal item? Fresh whole macadamia nuts covered in their chocolate is divine. Peanut butter cups. Rich is an understatement. The peanut butter is smooth, salty and aromatic. Surround it with a thick hunk of chocolate and it’s deadly. The Chipwitch. OMG. Every time I’ve come to the East coast they have been out of this. However, FINALLY, they were in stock on my last visit. Let me describe this for you. Creamy vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two large chocolate chip cookies. Sounds pretty basic right? Not after they dip the ENTIRETHING into a vat of their chocolate! The flavor of Munson’s chocolate combined with the crunch of the cookie and vanilla ice cream is perfection. I will definitely be back for this! Whatever you fancy, Munson’s will definitely bring the quality and taste you’re after. The hardest part is deciding what to get!

I make it a point to visit Munson’s every time I visit Connecticut as I now live in California. The chocolate is so fresh and worth the expensive price with the premium ingredients/nuts. Recently, my husband and I tried the Munson’s Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich and we were in love. Premium ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and the sandwich is dipped in their liquid chocolate and frozen. Bliss!

love this place and their chocolate(: got 4 truffles 2 tuffle balls and 2 candy bars for $ 11 . Pannucci(spelling error jaha it it’s pronounced pa-nu-chee it’s reallygoodforgpt to buy it!!) The app asked me if this place was expensive or not I put it as «$»(affordable) but really it just depends HOWMUCH you want and what it is and how it’s priced. Sort of like Walmart ya sure they have low prices however you can still blow a crap ton on groceries.

MMM. love this place! whenever I go to the mystic shops I stop here to get some chocolate. they always have lots of chocolate behind the counter and tons of pre wrapped chocolates. the prices are reasonable because you are getting such quality chocolate! I recommend getting a chocolate dipped banana with sprinkles! they dip the banana freshly in front of your eyes! ** for people that don’t like chocolate(what?!) they have fruit flavored gummies & pretzels!

Chocolate dipped frozen bananas? Yes please! I indulged myself with one of these a couple of days ago. My sister and I used to stop in here all the time for some chocolates before going to the movie theater that is also in the Old Mystic Village. They have a nice assortment of chocolates here. The prices seem a little steep for some of the chocolates, but then again, this is located in a tourist trap. For those of us that are just looking for a chocolate kick and not so concerned about the look of the packaging or the fact that the chocolates are dinged or broken, there is a shelf full of ‘seconds’ in plastic tubs. It’s a good way to get an inexpensive assortment. Just don’t buy the ‘seconds’ as a gift… you’ll come across as cheap ;-)

There are a lot of oddities(pizza shaped chocolate, lobster gummies) and some standouts(any of the chocolate covered pretzels). Prices are fair and staff is friendly.
