Slow Service & Waitress Did not know how to redeem Unilocal voucher. Also, the menu states that they offer a free kid’s meal with an order of $ 15+(on Wednesday). I was told when I went to pay that I would have to pay regular price for the kid’s meal. The pizza was greasy & their fries were overcooked!!!

After reading all the negative reviews on Unilocal I just had to try this place. I recently went there with my wife under a groupon deal and I honestly have to say that the food was very good along with the service, we ordered a large pizza and a small meatball and provolone grinder, both were cooked perfect and tasted very good. the only complaint that we had was that the restaurant could use some updating, we will definately go back.

Here’s the scene. I drove from Boston to the hotel I THOUGHT I was suppose to be at. my companions had not arrived yet and I was hungry and needed to tinkle. I pull on in and the menu looked amaze. Alriiiiight perfect. Here I am. I’ll wait for the girls here. I got the Cajun Sandwich, it was amazing at 2am by the way hahaa The girls inside were nice. It was a cute, divey feel and if I was local to it, I would certainly visit it often. Good place, if you are passing through or live nearby, def check it out!!!

This place used to be wonderful great pizza. I don’t know if it’s under new ownership, but we ordered recently and on the website you can order online. So we did and when I arrived and said we ordered online the owner I’m assuming, said they don’t receive online orders. So I had to replace the order and wait which is irritating. Food was gross and I’m assuming the owner was the lady I spoke to and she seemed annoyed and wanted to spend more time on her phone then tend to patrons.

When the slovenly dressed man with the stained t-shirt(the manager? the owner?), begrudgingly left his drinking pals at the bar to take my order, I probably should have known better, and left. It’s never a good sign when a restaurant makes you feel like you are bothering them by ordering food. Apparently, the cook shared the same lackadaisical work ethic as the man who had just taken my order. It took about 35 minutes for him to create what essentially looked like a two dollar Mama Celeste pizza, made in an Easy Bake oven. Alas, hunger is a powerful motivator, so despite the über-cheap, and unappealing look of my order, I made the decision to dive in. First bite. Cheese. Just cheese. Second bite. More cheese. Third bite. Cheese. Hold up. Something is missing. After engaging in a lengthy search, I’d surmise that approximately an eighth of a teaspoon of tomato sauce was used, on less than half of the pizza. And oddly enough, despite the abundance of the one thing there was lots of(cheese), the mozzarella had no real flavor. It was what I imagine cooked silly string would taste like.

We went here for lunch after staying at nearby hotel. Cons: Long wait(1 hour for tuna sub and steak bomb, buffalo fingers) Steak, Onions, Peppers, Mushrooms were all burnt so badly they tasted the same. Buffalo Fingers were also over cooked. Pros: Found. A «pay $ 15 for $ 25» for this restaurant on Unilocal. Waitress was nice. — — — — — — — — Wish I would have read reviews prior to checking in, my bad… Bottom line waited an hour for horrible food.

This place makes a delicious, reasonably priced meatball sandwich. The bun was toasted perfectly, lots of mozzarella, tasty red sauce, and good meatballs. I was very surprised. This restaurant isn’t much to look at, but I will definitely go back for this sandwich. Good job, Pizza Grille. And compliments to whomever is in the kitchen.

I ate here twice while on a getaway in Mystic last week. My boyfriend and I were staying at the whitehall mansion inn across the street. On Thursday afternoon we had gone to a local vineyard and by the time we left it was about 8pm and we were starved so we decided to get something quick and simple to go and eat back in our room. I pulled up the pizza grille website and decided this was the spot. We ordered buffalo chicken tenders, beer battered onion rings, my boyfriend got the raging Cajun chicken sandwich, and I got the black and bleu burger but opted for feta cheese as opposed to the suggested American. Order came to $ 34 not bad. We ate so quickly due to being so hungry(and a little tipsy) and were very satisfied with all of the food. The next day we had been out and about in the area all day and decided to dine in for dinner. We were seated right away by the hostess/waitress. She was not very friendly, but not rude either just seemed bored. There were only a few other people in the restaurant. I noticed pretty quickly that it has a strange feel to it: no background music, no TV on, bored looking staff. We ordered pretty quickly(same order as the night before since we enjoyed it so much) and it took a little while for the apps to come out. Within literally 3 minutes from the apps our meals were out so there was virtually no time in between. All-in-all the food is actually pretty good and I would eat there again, but as take-out.

This is not a place I would normally go to, mainly because I don’t pass the location very often. But I like trying new pizza places, so I bought a Groupon. Walking in on a Wednesday night, there were three other couples and a single in the whole place — not promising. We waited a good 5 minutes before we ever saw the«hostess» who we also found out was the only waitress in the restaurant. Another lady in front of us had been waiting even longer to pay for her take-out pizza, which was probably cold before she left. We were seated and luckily got waters pretty quickly. Seeing how bad the service was when we walked in, we were sure to have our orders ready when she brought the drinks. I ordered the eggplant parmesan while my husband got the a bowl of clam chowder and the BBQ Chicken Calzone. The bowl of chowder was okay, nothing super special about it and not as good as other places. The portions of the main dishes were huge(no wonder America is so overweight!). The calzone was basically the size of a whole large pizza folded in half. The bite of calzone I had was heavy on the bread/crust and very little BBQ chicken(and that was biting into the center where the most filling should be). Where do I start with the eggplant parmesan? I was not impressed at all. There was enough food for two people on my plate but it wasn’t very good. I could barely taste the eggplant because it was very thinly sliced, then breaded and fried. It was like grease-soaked bread with sauce and cheese on top. The pasta was generic. It taste like boxed pasta with a jar of sauce… nothing tasted homemade. My meal came with a salad and garlic bread. The salad was fine; bottled ranch dressing but nothing specific to hate on. The«bread» was thin, dried out pizza crust that had a sprinkling of what could have been garlic powder, but there was very little garlic taste. Despite the portion size, it was definitely not a meal worth $ 15.99. Beyond the food, the service was not great. The wait in the beginning and the fact that there was one person acting as hostess and waitress was horrible. It is even worse when, as you eat, you can hear the hostess/waitress talking loudly to the kitchen staff and complaining about other customers who just left. Absolutely ridiculous! Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Pizza Grille. I wouldn’t even go back for a free meal.

They dont even deserve 1 star After the first experience i figured id give it one more shot, bad mistake. Went in on a Saturday after reading their happy hour specials on their website. Guy at the bar didnt even know there was a website let alone a happy hour selection. Restraunt was dead as can be yet it took 15 minutes to ask us if we wanted anything. Ordered a eggplant parmesian sub, i know its a pizza joint but wasnt feelin it. Anywho got my order and took one bite and was done, they muyst have soaked the whole thing in grease and put it in the microwave. The whole time the«bartender» and some lady that works there are yelling back and forth while she sits at a table behind us. What her function is i have yet to determine. Plus the place is backed up to a trailer park so of course you get to see all those crazies too. Sum it up, Mcdonalds grade food, poor service and unproffesional. Not sure how or why this place is still in buisness. Drive 5 minutes down the road and check out Angelos Pizza or Mangos in the Mystic Village.

Horrible pizza. Cold, cheese not melted, crust not crisp(ordered thin grilled crust), toppings cold and that was straight from oven?!? Then asked to heat it up and same result. Yikes! To top off beer was barely cold with a glass from the fridge. Maybe they need new temperature sensors?

If I could give less then 1 star I would have given this place that. Not only were we waited on by a janitor covered in dust. Our 2nd waiter completely screwed up our order. The turkey grinder had no lettuce and when we asked for more we were hand a VERY small handful on a plate… the pizza was soggy and my chicken sandwich was soooo dry I could barely cut it in half with my knife. The food was horrible and the waiters were useless. We’ll never go back…

We got a pizza to go. The toppings were ok quality, but the pizza wasn’t fully cooked. Half of the dough was still really soggy and the cheese wasn’t completely melted. We had to stick it in our oven to cook more. It was also one of the smallest«large» pizzas I’ve ever seen, and kind of pricey. All in all, there is much better pizza in the area for a better price.

Good food but keep your eyes closed if you’re a germ freak. The steak bomb was very good and well priced. Ordered the soup and app one night and that cost 20 bucks. Chowder is nothing to write home about. The place could use a good cleaning. The floor is gross with dead plants in the waiting area. Overheard a customer complain about getting meat on a veggie pizza and was not even offered a discount. It’s a typical hole in the wall. Not bad but not great. Went back for a second chance and the flies bothered us the whole time.

Their gluten free pizza was good, but expensive.(the price wasn’t listed on the menu… it was a whopping $ 15 for a tiny personal pizza!) Their a/c sucks, the whole place was sweltering, even though we were seated directly under a vent. I used both Unilocal deals, but the waitress wasn’t familiar with them and I was initially overcharged. She refunded me after I explained, but it took two weeks for my debit card to actually show the refund and give me my money back. A bit of a hassle. Service wasn’t terrible and the staff wasn’t rude as others suggest, but she did bring the check too quickly and refilled my water without offering my boyfriend another beer. I think we may return to try some other menu items, but we weren’t completely thrilled with the place. It just did the trick, as we were pretty hungry. I’m glad the coupons were offered, as I would have been a little disappointed to pay full price.

This place is a great time. Luckily for us, our hotel was right across the street. The bar area is kind of small, but when Karaōke gets kicked off the Pizza Grille rocks. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Don’t ask me about the food, because I didn’t eat here. Also, has the world’s smallest TVs if you are interested in watching a game.

I didn’t know they offered two styles of pizza. They have a cheapo traditional version and a better more expensive wood fired version. I guess I ordered the cheapo version and it wasn’t very good. It reminded me of Greek pizza. Next time I’ll have to order the more expensive wood fired pizza. I never heard of a pizza place that offers two different qualities/prices of pizza.

This place was right across from our hotel so decided to eat simple after big lunch at the Captain place in historic Mystic. We had the wood fire grilled chicken pizza which was on a thin crust. It was good but it sliced into squares rather than pie slices. We realized it was because it was so thin and better handled in small square pieces. We also had the spring salad which was great with plenty of olives and grilled bell peppers. Nice atmosphere, fast service, and pretty decent food.

This is, without a doubt, the worst restaurant in Mystic. Just so you understand, there are a ton of restaurants in Mystic, and ALLOFTHEM are better than The Pizza Grille. I work and live in Mystic, and I have had almost half of everything on the menu, and I have finally decided to stop torturing myself. All of the sandwiches are terrible. They cut up some chicken in the morning and use the same chicken in every recipe calling for it; chicken caesar wrap, chicken parm, everything. The food has NO taste, literally, cardboard. The bread is ALWAYS stale! The staff is horrible, unfriendly, and clearly wish they were doing something other than working there. Maybe they have to eat the food too! Do your stomach, your tastebuds, and your wallet a favor and do not eat at The Pizza Grille!
