We stop here twice while in mystic! The first time was during our 2 day stay in mystic. The second time was after we got off the amtrak(DC to Mystic) before heading back home. We just wanted some casual, good food without all the frills and hassle of sitting in a restaurant. We settled on this place. Certainly no regrets there. While it was a bit on the expensive side for a few burgers, everything was fast and good. The view is excellent and breeze, amazing. The next time we are in mystic(next summer I hope!) We will definitely stop here for a quick bite.

Beautiful view of the boats on the river and tall ships. Plenty of picnic tables to enjoy lunch. We shared clam fritters(a little too salty for me) and clam strips(a bit soggy) and a dr. Pepper — was given a Diet Coke. We were so thirsty we didn’t complain. The gal at the window was funny and sweet and had a hang over she told us which was the excuse for the error and wait at the window. We laughed with her and found it endearing. Over all a nice lunch spot — not the best around though.

Just had an amazing lunch! Locater roll and steak cheese sandwich were delicious and the view can’t be beat. Portapotty is the only down side but it was clean and hand sanitizer full so all in all a great outdoor dining experience!

On a beautiful off-season sunny day when you’re really hungry or craving a lobster roll, this is a great place to eat and relax. There are many picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy looking at the water. I had the lobster roll(only cold is available I think), which I think was close to $ 18. That may sound like a lot but but it’s much cheaper than it is at some other restaurants in the area. It was tasty: a generous amount of lobter came on a lightly buttered and toasted bread/roll, and seemed fresh, without too much mayo, so I could still taste the sweetness of the lobster itself. Not sure what else is good on the menu but my bf’s fries looked pretty ordinary, and everyone else’s food from what I could see consisted of burgers and fries and other fried and fast food. I didn’t get a drink; bf also ordered a large soda. Parking was okay, though the lot was full. I can’t imagine how packed this place gets in high summer. Overall a good experience for the view and the rolls but prepare to spend $ 50-ish for two, if you get the lobster rolls and other things.

Best lobster roll I’ve ever had. Big chunks of lobster, just the right amount of buttery flavor. Definitely get one!

Easy access and close to the center of Mystic. The food is typical for a roadside spot in New England and value is marginal. Twister, next door, has decent ice cream, but it’s all soft serve.

Typical New England road side seafood fried food place. Great views of mystic river and seaport. Best lobster rool in town. Easy access to highway and parking. Very crowed on weekend in the summer. Lacks a spot to dock a boat but still a favorite of locals and tourists alike

This was a cool find as we were driving by. It’s a little shack shack by the lake or a mini harbor I believe.(Not too sure) but glad we got to check this place out. They had umbrella’d seating. We ordered the fried scallops and the fried whole clam bellies. It was over 40 dollars for these two little orders but it was DELICIOUSLY fresh. Yummy in our tummies. Just sitting outside enjoying the brisk air while our mouths enjoy the taste of these heavenly seafood made it even more divine. Definitely will be stopping by again. Hopefully next year when the weather is warmer.

Had flounder dinner with fries and coleslaw. I should have got the cod or just skipped fish that day. The batter fried flounder was too thin to be cooked in the deep fat frier and was tough as the sole of a running shoe that’s run a few marathons. Awful. I would have asked for money back or a new item if I didn’t get it to go. Other things I’ve had there; scallops, whole clams, foot long hotdogs were all good or at the least decent. 13 $

Clam shack w/pick up window. Decent place to get some fresh local seafood and enjoy it sitting by the bay. Beautiful scenery of the port. Fried whole belly clam plate 19.99, came with crispy fries & coleslaw. Had more clams than expected. Very good. Fried shrimp plate 16.99. Extra large shrimp, thin battered, very good. Beware the birds and seagulls will stalk you.

We passed by this this place on our way in and made a point to stop on the way out and what a great decision it was. First off go hungry because you are going to get your fill. Second look the menu up because if you love seafood you are going to have a hard time choosing. I went with the New England Chowder and lobster roll. Both were spectacular but I was disappointed as I sat there peaking at all the different meals coming out and was upset that I couldn’t taste it all. If you are in Mystic you cannot miss this place as it is off of 95coming and going stop in for great food, fast service, clean area and great view. Oh yeah if you can walk over to the great ice cream shop next door and enjoy one of many different items with a 10% discount for eating next door.

My husband and I decided to take our annual trek to Mystic, primarily to eat lunch, then browse all the cute shops downtown. Because of the picturesque photos of the water, and the food, in previous reviews, we decided to eat lunch at the Sea View. I ordered a lobster roll, fries, and diet Pepsi, and my husband ordered the fried fish platter and a soda. My lobster roll was stuffed chock full of fresh lobster, with just the right amount of mayonnaise. However, the lobster/mayo mixture was overly salted. Also, the roll was charred a bit on one side. I’ve never had a lobster roll before, so I had nothing to compare it to. The french fries were nice and hot, not greasy at all. My husband said that his fried flounder was good. For a roadside stand, I thought that the prices were high, but this is Mystic, so maybe that’s to be expected. The view of the water was beautiful, even in the middle of severe thunderstorms and a flood watch!

I’ve come to accept that expensive-ass lobster rolls are inevitable; I thought it was short-lived craze in New York, but it’s EVERYWHERE. I will always have that mini heart attack whenever I see it priced for more than $ 10, even more so when it’s like $ 30 and doesn’t come with any sides. After being drained of our energy while struggling to walk uptown(is that what they call it?) from the seaport, we saw a glimpse of light in between, which was the calling to our growling stomachs… FINALLY, some food! I was ecstatic to see a casual shack smack dab in the middle of the road with a view that didn’t cost $ 25 just to look at the water and some ships. This place is as cute as if you were at a rest stop and has plenty of benches with a pretty decent view of the river. I was a little surprised when the seafood rolls were all over $ 10, but I was really hungry and craving a roll at this point, so I went with a Whole Clam Roll for $ 12. For those of us who have never tried a clam roll(or never even heard of one, at that), it is just deep fried clams on a roll. I was surprised at how plain the roll was – it didn’t have mayo or any toppings, and it was on a plain bun; I let my guard down and prepared to be disappointed. However, the bun was lightly toasted perfectly and at this point, I forgot that buns are supposed to be buttery. Taking the first bite onto my roll was like pure magic in my mouth – the fried clams were quite juicy and so fresh, it felt like they caught those clams on premise! Sadly, it was not very filling, but it was memorable and I would totally go back to this place again for some more rolls. I also got a Banana Milkshake and the flavoring was just awful and too sweet, it tasted like liquid Laffy Taffy. My friend ordered an Iced Tea and apparently, it’s an Arnold Palmer, so there is lemon flavoring! Not bad for a quick, cheap(er) bite in Mystic, although prices are a little higher than expectations.

The food here is delicious!!! I know it looks kinda funny since it’s a shack on the side of the road but DONOT drive by without giving it a try! There is a lot of seating and a nice view of the river. There is also twisters right next to it which you can have for dessert. The lobster roll at the shack was probably the best one I had in all of mystic. It’s a little expensive but it’s worth it! The roll it is served on was delicious and the lobster was fresh. Also, the clam chowder was Devine!

Street vendor, meets food truck, meets seafood restaurant. Nice place right off I95. Good for a quick seafood bite to eat, overlooking the mystic river.

Solid three stars for this place. Lobster roll was fantastic! My husband said the clam strips and scallops were decent but felt they were pricey. At $ 12 and $ 19 I thought they were on par for the market. Nothing terribly impressive about this place but a great place to stop if you want a quick bite to eat in a relaxing environment. Classic little New England joint that won’t disappoint if your expectations are reasonable.

What a great find. This is my second visit and the food was fantastic. The lobster roll was heat and the fried shrimp was equally good. Perfect location by the water watching the boats sail by while you eat. A must do dip if your nearby. Staff is amazing and very attentive too doing everything exactly like I asked. Picnic tables are what you get but the atmosphere is just what the doctor ordered.

An obligatory stop for us after a day at the beach. We usually get the fried clams and fries. It’s all very good; perfect amount of breading, not too greasy, and tastes very fresh. The fries are soft and yummy as well. My only complaint is the price: costs are definitely hiked up here as it’s an obvious tourist trap. That being said, it’s all very good. The cherry on top is definitely the view.
