I’ve been going to SubStation II for nearly 20 years! After living in other cities for 9 years… this was my 1st lunch upon my return! I asked for thier horseradish sauce with my sub. Everyone paused & recognized that I was customer from WAY back! They don’t have the sauce anymore, but the subs & pasta salad are still as tasty as they were in 1996. I find the comment that their bread doesn’t come from NY pretty silly! I think thier bread is great, that is why I have been a customer for so long. They also have 2-for-Tuesdays, a great day to try a new sandwich you’ve been thinking about. This location provides great customer service & food. Evident by the long lines every Tuesday at lunchtime & the fact that the«bits & pieces» sandwich is sold out most times I go there! The secrets definitely out… Sub station II provides great subs & sides at a fantastic value. My favorites are the Italian & the«bits & pieces sandwich. Thier pasta salad is delicious. I know they are out when they see my hopeful face & they start shaking thier heads to say nope… we’re out before the order is out of mouth. I haven’t had the philly in years(I liked it with horsey sauce!) …that’s likely my next order though!

This is the best sandwich shop I can think of. Even out here in Long Beach, CA., my girlfriend and I have yet to find a place so delicious. The staff gives the mom and pop feel although there are several of these around. I’ve been to 3 of these in the area and this is the best one by far.
