The soup is very good and the location is very clean. The employees are very friendly. The ice tea is ok. The sandwiches are ok. I had a mediocre turkey club and my wife had an average tuna salad. Prices are a bit high for what you get and the food is ordinary while the soup is good. You leave hungry. Will give them another try. This is our first visit after a long absence. Before we moved away 8 years ago this location(Bees Ferry by Bi Lo) had better, more inspired food.

I was craving a grilled cheese, so my wife suggested Ladles for dinner. I was going to make one at home, but why make one when you can go to Ladles? The soup special was the white bean and ham which was, dare I say, SOUPER! Honestly, it had to have bean the best soup I’ve had in a while. I also had the Ladles Grilled Cheese, which comes with various cheeses, bacon(yum), tomato, and red onions on rye bread. I got a whole sandwich because getting a half sandwich just seems like you’re cheating on the other half of the sandwich and you don’t want it feeling left out. The rest of the family got the chicken noodle, she crab, and loaded potato soup, which as any dad will know, is your job to help them finish when they’re done eating, and so I left there completely filled and satisfied. All cravings have been smothered until the next time.

Went there once. Soups are stale, sandwiches were so, so. Nothing to write home about. Staff was nice but not friendly. Could be better for a chain type store, if they want to grab customers from other type stores. Should I give them another try, maybe in the future, just to see if anything has changed. Frank G

I wish I had taken a picture of my lunch… I walked into Ladles unsure of what to expect. There is a huge chalkboard on the wall with all of the soups, salads, sandwiches, and«other» selections, as well as a smaller chalkboard behind the counter naming the specials of the day. It seems like the guy who was helping us was also training a new employee, so combining that with my first-time visit created a little bit of confusion. I ordered a half-salad(tuna on greens) and a half-soup(vegetable) and was very happy with my selection. The tuna wasn’t too mayo-y and there was just enough to have tuna and greens in each bite. I only had a little of the soup and saved it for lunch the next day, at which time it was still fantastic. You could easily go here every day without breaking the bank and be able to have something different at each visit.

Honestly, the sandwiches are much better than the soups. Grilled cheeses are my favorite and definitely worth a trip. On the other hand, all of the soups are just okay. They do have a wide variety, something for everyone, and quick service.

Big labels fan! BLT on pretzel bun is so good and I love the broccoli cheddar soup, wish they had it all year round!

Great soups, salads and sandwiches for an even better price. I tried the buffalo chicken soup with a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. Yum! The pimento cheese sandwich was a little greasy, but that’s to be expected. I’d recommend a half instead of a whole sandwich. They have lots of combo deals for you to try and you can also taste any soup on the menu before buying. Win! I discovered this place via Unilocal because my mom wanted a good salad. We definitely got what we came for. She had the tomato basil soup, but didn’t like it as much as I liked mine. She really liked the chef salad with blackberry vinaigrette. They have ovations all over the city so check one out near you.

Soup heaven! Why decide on one soup when you can sample the lot! The grilled cheese is phenomenal and couple that with a bowl of soup and you have a winning combination. Watch out for rainy days because that tends to draw the crowds.

I have tried this place several times over the years and every time I go I’m disappointed in the soup. They taste like salt water no matter what I get. The sandwiches are OK but being a soup place you would think their soups would be really good. There not. Very disappointed.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch date with my boyfriend today at Ladles. The girl at the counter was very patient with me while I tried about five different soups(indecisive person I am) and made very good suggestions. I got the soup and half sandwich combo. The buffalo chicken soup was the winner and I got the Ladles grilled cheese which consist of toasted wheat bread(it originally comes with rye bread but I’m not a fan) with Swiss and cheddar cheese, red onion and bacon! It was fabulous. My boyfriend got the special which was taco soup. He really like the soup but I thought it was alittle too heavy for my liking. And the best part of the entire experience was his sandwich he got with the soup. THECRABCAKEPATTYMELT!!! It was a special but I hope they put it on the menu for good. Great amount of crab with delicious sauce and cheese! Holding this beautiful sandwich was perfectly toasted texas toast bread. He considered getting another one to take home! Good job ladles!(Crowd cheers)

I’m a huge fan of all Ladles. I love Soup and this is definitely a soup lovers heaven. Make sure you try a sample and check the soup of the day to find your favorite. Can’t decide because they are all so delicious? Try the sampler and get three! Too much soup to choose from? Ladles definitely doesn’t fall short on their sandwiches or salads either. Salads are huge with tons of toppings. Nothing beats a hot bowl of tomato bisque and grilled cheese unless you get my favorite… the ladles grilled cheese and Greek lemon chicken. Melts cheese with bacon, tomato, and red onion. MmMm. Good thing I just ordered one! And the Greek lemon is to die for. I love the zest of lemon perfectly mixed with pepper. All ladles locations are great, but West Ashley is the original and where it all started. Make sure you try this hometown chain anytime of day!

YUM! Fresh soups, salads and sandwiches made in house! The staff is always friendly and it usually only takes 5 – 10 mins to receive your order. There is seating inside and out. They do offer the option to call ahead for pickup. Definitely a healthier and more delicious option than the other nearby fast food places.

Not good soup at all. Very over priced and the people that work there are very rude. Do yourself a favor and pick up some canned soup, it will be much cheaper and taste better.

What an interesting restaurant! Primary focus is soup but does have other options. We had the French onion and broccoli cheddar. Both were good.

Visited Ladles for the first time tonight since moving to the area– the Greek Lemon Chicken soup and Grilled Fruit Salad are so freaking good. I’m glad I live near by, I’ll be back often!

I have been to ladles several times. Love the soups and sandwiches especially the turkey chili and grilled cheese. Was craving it and wanted to bring my boyfriend in to experience it but the smart assed girl at the front when we walked in forced us to walk out. Just because I walk in to show my boyfriend the board of the yummies that are offered and didn’t get a second to say hi back to the girl in enough time. Her remark was not appreciated. It’s a pity that she was followed by a young man giggling. I would never talk to customers that way doesn’t make them feel welcome at all.

As soon as it gets chilly outside, I’m ready to hit up Ladles(not that they are only good when it is cold outside)! Soup is a must(they have daily specials and good regulars) — Recently I have had the loaded baked potato, she crab, shrimp and grits and they were all delicious. It’s awesome that you can get larger soups to go for later. My favorite sandwich is the Caprese sub — I absolutely crave it! I like to get it with a cup of soup(small, but filling). We live close to this one so it is so easy to call, place your order and pickup. They are always quick and friendly(and DELICIOUS)!

I LOVE this spot. So simple and EVERYTHING is homemade. My personal favorites are the salads, Greek lemon chicken soup and the BLT omggggg. Salads: ok I know, most of you are like ya whatever – I agree, most salads are boring. There’s however are the freshest and BIG! Any salad. The Greek lemon chicken has awesome flavor, I can almost drink it. The star is the BLT. First; it’s on a pretzel bun. It’s loadedddd with bacon and the tomatoes are always SO ripe and delicious. Not like most orange hard tomatoes. It’s perfect. Perfect. Only thing I don’t like here are the cheap free rolls they give you with your soup. Never warm and hospital cafeteria-like. They’re free however, so Ladles gets 5

My husband loves their buffalo chicken soup, although I find it pretty spicy. I love the turkey chili and the $ 10 for 3 frozen quarts of yesterday’s soup deal can’t be beat. Last time we went we got two of the Samplers. We got small cups of 4 soups, so in total, we had 8 different soups. Neither of us really like tomato soup, but Ladles’ version is wonderful! I know i’ll be ordering a bowl of it next time. Garden Vegetable was another winner in my book and my husband discovered that he really likes the Lemon Greek Chicken soup. The only drawback for me is the bread roll they serve with it. It’s just not really very good(too crusty for me) and I’d prefer a slice of Italian or French bread(personal preference).

We’re still loving Ladle’s soups. It’s one of the best restaurants out here in West Ashley. We even take our friends from other areas there and they love it and take home the frozen soups. The frozen soups are our latest Ladle’s addiction. You can get 3 of them for $ 10– you almost can’t buy soup that cheap in a grocery store, let alone make it. Every time we go in, we pick up a few frozen soups for cheap, easy dinners here at the house. The Buffalo chicken is my husband’s favorite. My new favorite menu items lately… grilled fruit salad and the pimento cheese sandwich on jalapeño cornbread. My husband loves getting his sandwiches on the pretzel bread. The staff is always great and has come to know us well! They also have free wi-fi, which we used when we bought our home and didn’t have internet for two days.
