I just love this lil Thrift Shop and I have to admit that the fact that it’s sorta tucked away in a lil shopping complex at the far North end of Watt Avenue in North Highlands only adds to the shine of this lil beauty… If your looking for a huge store where you have to arm wrestle your competition aka: fellow thrifters for your items wanted or your looking for a major selection of all things used then this probably isn’t your store. However if your open to flying by the seat of your nickers & open to what treasures you may find on any given day then I’d say give them a shot. I’ve shopped here twice in the past 3 months and each time came away with some vintage items, some of which are collectible like the solid brass embossed 16−18″ diameter plate with hints of patina on it that is old as dirt and gives me warm fuzzy feelings of my youth as my Portuguese granny had some just like it when I was a kid and picked it up for $ 3 an which will one day hang in our beloved Casa. Or the amazingly fully functional heavy weight ceramic 5 pound or heavier water fountain with a working water pump that I just scored this past Wednesday and for a mere $ 8 when to buy one just like it new would have set me back at least $ 25 – 30 if not more and it works beautifully and now adorns the Feng Shui prosperity & abundance corner area of my desk at work. My new water fountain relaxes me beyond belief and she was just looking for a great new home and she found it with me. I also on my maiden voyage to this shop, picked up a vintage hand drawn piece of art by a local Folsom artist that’s over 40 years old and signed by the original artist. How much U say? $ 2. When I need a place to relax and take my mind off of work I always head over to here on my lunch break and so far manage to always come away with some vintage treasures and at a shamefully low price too AND in case U didn’t know 100% of their proceeds go to feed the homeless so the employees that work there do so on a volunteer basis aka: Don’t get paid. The petite lil seasoned woman they call Jan who I’ve dealt with each time I’ve shopped here who I have read others write about in their Unilocal reviews has always been so kind and straight forward with me I just enjoy the hell out of her and she’s fair in the pricing of items that I’ve asked about that were not marked. A diamond in the rough of a thrift shop if you ask me.

All of the«employees» people are referencing here are volunteers. This is a nonprofit for the local food bank. Stop donating and spending money at places that discriminate(Salvation Army) and make millions off your donations(goodwill). This is a great place to shop and I find incredible bargains. I buy and sometimes redonate because I know it’s going to a good cause. The volunteers are very nice and always friendly.

There new and if there trying there best to look good, and be welcome by the neighborhood. They didn’t show a good approach I show casing there product. Because when I first stepped foot in here, it was messy and things where hanging all over the place. I don’t know if it makes everyone feel welcome, if they made it a little more organized. At least when you enter the store, they have a nice staff that greet you and pardon with you and what your looking for. They seemed to be old fashion in there ways. There not like most thrift store that are out there trying to monopolize there products or there stores. They actually care and even ask for donations. If you like old fashioned thrifty kinds stores, that have that rustic look. This is the place. It will make you feel like your going back in time, of the good old days when people are people. Yea a lot of the stuff is used or worn, but it’s a thrift store it should have that capture. I remember my late grandma would take me to one if those Ma and Pa thrift stores in the Bay Area. We would look at things, that today are probably worth a high value. I even remember, when I had this old high school buddy tell me, he found a fire proof jacket that they wear at some steel mill. So you never know what your gonna find here or at other thrift stores.

Our first time there today. Some cute stuff, decent pricing on the things that were marked. The girl we spoke to had no idea on the prices of unmarked things as she was new and she said ask the girl at the counter. Well we waited around for well over 5 minutes and the girl was outside smoking with two others and never even bothered to look in. Nor did she look or say anything when we walked out. I called a few minutes later and no answer at the phone. Probably still smoking and chatting. …terrible way to About an hour later we went back to try again as one of the items I had in my hands was something I really needed for a wedding project I am doing. The smoker was now behind the counter and never looked up or said hi, she was messing with the money in the register and the items I had left at the counter when I walked out were still there an hour and a half after my first visit! It’s not like this is a busy store, it was me and one other customer. If this is the kind of customer service they provide I can tell you now, try and run over there for your bargains as they probably won’t make it. The new one just down the block has great prices and good service!
