Gem of a restaurant just outside the Nantucket downtown. Chef Brandt and his wife Gabrielle could not have been more welcoming… like they had invited us to a creative & sophisticated dinner party. The ingredients were really fresh, the flavors so much more pronounced. The portions were very generous. We had the grilled Pizzetta as a starter. A slab of homemade dough baked into a thin crispy crust, topped with fresh tomatoes, garlic, onions and mushrooms roasted into a really flavorful sauce. For entrees we had the whole haddock fish which was one of the best seafood plates we have ever had, and certainly the largest portion from a restaurant. The fish was pan-seared in a sauce of cherry tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and fresh herbs that together with the tender flesh of the halibut produced a palate pleasure that we did not want to end. BTW, no head on fish and the waitstaff showed an easy way to eat it. As a side we had the grilled crimini mushrooms which had fresh garlic and onions carmelized to make it nicely sweet and crispy. The other entrée was a swordfish with a nicoise sauce. Nice portion also, done just right so it was juicy and not tough. We finished with the chocolate soufflé. We love baked goods and this one done be Gabrielle was really different. The cake was fluffy and the chocolate taste mild; this was the perfect counterpoint to the coconut crème fraîche that went along with it. None of it too sweet, but together really special. We will return to Atlas on our next trip to Nantucket.

Very enjoyable experience. The Bar itself provides a very quaint and dimly lit environment, which is perfect for someone looking for a break from the surrounding bar/restaurant traffic. The Bartender, David, is extremely knowledgeable, as evidenced by the fact that he designed the entire(eclectic?) Cocktail Menu. His technique, while Top Shelf, pales in to comparison with his personality, which radiates throughout the Bar Area, and beyond. Food is wonderful. Chef Brandt seems to take pride in greeting every customer and collecting feedback on all dishes, whether positive or, I don’t know… more positive…(I’ve heard nothing to the contrary, as of yet…). I can appreciate the bravery required to «throw yourself to the ‘wolves’», so to speak… Had the Whole Fish dish(Whiting, in a Saffron/Tomato Broth), accompanied by a side of Cremini Mushrooms and Lightly wilted Spinach, which was amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, the sound of my fork scraping the bottom of the plate left me wanting for more(as in, another round of the aforementioned!) Will definitely be back. One of my favorite Nantucket restaurant experiences to date, and as such, one I look forward to replicating…

On less than two weeks notice, Gabrielle and Brandt put together an awesome dinner for a group of 30! Gabrielle was amazing to work with as far as pre-event coordination — It was a pleasure just to show up and have everything run so smoothly. Incredible hospitality, great hosts and delicious food in a warm atmosphere with the red walls and intimate dining area. Exceeded all expectations!

Stopped here for wine and appetizers at the bar. Husband does the cooking and wife helps manage the front of house. Really nice people, good, ingredient-driven food and nice wine list. We had the flatbread pizzetta and spicy tuna tartare. The dining room isn’t too big. Cozy modern feel. Bar seats are fun for people watching. I went back a couple nights later and had the kimchi. Loved it.

Excellent menu. Had the swordfish & my husband the ribs(of course). Both were very good. Eggplant & kimchi apps very good as well. I especially appreciated extensive tequila selection. Had one of my favorites, Casa Azul Anjeo, which can be hard to find in the US. Only reason it did not get five stars is that the service was nowhere near as good as the food. It’s only ok — on the slow side. It also is a very noisy place.

Gabrielle and Brandt… first of all. you made me more than welcome at your bar! The BBQ was incredible as it was when you owned Cambridge St. The ribs were meaty and perfectly spiced! And on an island where no one else knows how to prepare Cole Slaw yours is far and away the best… My new favorite place. Thank you! David D

Unassuming upon approach. The explosion of color and feel upon entry was pleasing. I needed to take a little more time than usual to decide on a cocktail as Atlas had a impressive bar stocked with plenty of craft spirits. I recommend the Expresso Martini. The staff was friendly and quick to answer questions. Having to stay close to my comfort zone I went with my favorite foods. The idea of traveling over 30 miles of Atlantic water to get the best ribs I have ever had is funny. I’ve had plenty of ribs in my day but these are by far the best. From cut and texture to the sweet and spicy sauce. I will think about those ribs until I go back for more next year. Very hip place. If you go, you will be happy happy happy.

Oh. Yeah. Complex, mysterious and sultry was my just hot enough jerk chicken. Hot, sweet, smokey and sticky were his generous ribs. Sublime and divine the were the pies chocolate and lime.

Great new restaurant just outside of town. A really cool space, and friendly service. Even better, the food was wonderful! My husband and I split«The Rodeo» platter and the black bass(cooked whole). After eating a ton of seafood during the week, it was great to mix it up with some BBQ while still getting excellent-quality fish. Our only complaint was the music choice — seemed like it was trying to hard to be trendy, when I’d usually prefer something like relaxed classic rock(which seems to be ubiquitous on the island). Regardless, we’ll be back the next time we’re on Nantucket!

Relatively new restaurant on the island, 8 months old, an absolute must try. I went with 3 other people and my friend and I both ordered«The Rodeo» which had brisket, pulled pork, and short ribs. The others had the cod and the swordfish, both were delicious. For an appetizer we had the clams and the braised short rib, both worth a try. The clams had many different and new combinations of additives like corn and Canadian bacon in a great broth. The braised short ribs were perfectly cooked and had bold favor. The Rodeo dinner was full of flavor and was the perfect portion, not too much food but definitely not too little. It had a great slaw and rice that complemented the meal very well. I was very impressed with their beer selection of Allagash White and Chimay both on tap. Side note, their pepper dispenser was very cool as it resembled a click pen style. Also they provided warm water with tablet formed hand towels that expanded when dropped in the water, these were to clean your hands and were very different, apparently this is seen in the new movie Spy, but I’m not a huge Melissa McCarthy fan so I can’t say I’ve seen it. I definitely recommend this place if you’re on the island.

Awesome dinner! Unique food was fresh & delicious & service was friendly, knowledgeable & prompt. Korean short ribs with kimchi I could have had 3 servings of! Clams had awesome flavor & the chunks of bacon & fresh corn made the dish! I though ordering a «pizza» was not an adventurous choice at a BBQ/fish joint but I undid the button on my jeans just to have more! So good!!! We’ll definitely be back & hope they’re open year-round to enjoy. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu! Five stars in our book!!!

I LOVETHISNEWRESTAURANT. First we don’t have to fight the downtown crowds. Second, THEFOOD, THEFOOD, THEFOOD! So creative. So delicious! I have been three times in two weeks with a goal of working my way through the menu. My personal favorite is the swordfish but my friends swore by the baby back ribs(made in an on-site smoker) and the coconut lime slow-cooked chicken. Winner of best displayed dish is the deconstructed lobster salad! What I love is that you can go in for a quick appetizer, too. One time I had a short rib at the bar and my girlfriend had the grilled pizzette.(The next time I go in I am getting myself the pizzette. I ate way to many pieces of hers.) We shared a delicious grilled endive and radicchio salad, too. When I went with my husband, we did it up with three courses and lots of wine followed by an incredible dessert(the best version ever of French toast with maple syrup). Oh yum! I’ll be back! Lots of happy people in this place!

Can I say no, no, no, no! The space has been nicely reformed from its prior life as Sfoglia although the dreaded backless stool«McDonalds Restaurant» table still exists. The bar is very competent, the wine list is fine. The menu is a bit unusual with both BBQ items but also several fish and an Asian influenced chicken on the entrée list, the two whole fish options which sounded interesting. Our evening started well enough, drinks arrived fairly quickly, the bread(3 slices for $ 4.00) was a bit pricy but completely and happily consumed by my 9 year old. Somewhere down the line our evening fell apart. Although we arrived earlier than our reservation and 15 minutes earlier than the majority of the guests in the restaurant(and it was only a little more than ½ full) our appetizers(2 salads) were out after everyone around us already had received their food. The grilled Radicchio and Endive Caesar surprisingly became a chilled Romaine and Radicchio salad. We ordered the Korean short rib appetizer as well to try. It arrived eventually, obviously it had been hot at some time but arrived at the table lukewarm at best. The taste was good and I would have loved trying it as intended, piping hot. The entrees(kids pasta and ribs) never arrived and after 1 hour, 15 minutes and a tearfully hungry 9 year old I finally threw in the towel and asked for the check. For this evening I was billed $ 81.00(1 Martini, 1 bread, 2 salads and a short rib appetizer). Our waitress should have been either trained or fired. She consistently disappeared for abnormally long periods of time. Finished plates(on tables other than ours) lingered way too long on the tables before being cleared. Food runners brought out food so I couldn’t imagine what kept her behind the scenes for so long since her station consisted only of 6 two tops. Other servers brought additional silverware as needed and seemed more interested in helping client also than our server. The chef owner was apologetic and mentioned he was making changes but sadly, when you miss so badly, the word gets around. I wish him the best but if you are trying to build a reputation with a new restaurant, there needs to be a front of house onsite strong enough to watch for these types of gaffes.

We love the ease of heading to the bar for amazing cocktails and delicious BBQ. The Korean short ribs have become a top 5 all time favorite and the clams are not to be missed. Just on the outside of town, Atlas is the perfect mid-island reprieve with delicious menu, great drinks and fun ambiance. Go, you won’t be sorry you did!
