Amazing view overlooking the water. I think we came here at least 4 times over the course of our trip for drinks, lunch or dinner. The bartender was awesome. We were a fairly rowdy bunch(especially after 4 – 5 rounds of drinks) but he had a good sense of humor and kept them flowing. Dinner was also especially good. I had the rib eye and it was huge and cooked perfectly. All of the sides that we ordered were great as well. Was a good meal overall.

Went for brunch on Sunday. If you can stand the price($ 55 each plus tax and tip and alcoholic beverages), this is a terrific Sunday brunch. Fresh oyster bar, beautiful salads, incredible desserts, etc. Probably the best food we had on ACK this year. Make a reservation and ask for outside seating on the rim of the patio. The views of the harbor are great.

The view and ambiance lived up to the hype. Especially at dusk when the colors of the sky and moonlight lit up the bay. Food was great. Had the surf and turf for two. Filet was prepared just right and the lobster was tender and succulent. Drinks took a little while, but service was attentive and even accommodated my wife with gluten free bread. Would definitely recommend, and look forward to coming back next year.

We have been celebrating our wedding anniversary here for years and I must say that dinner last night was one of the best we have ever had on Nantucket. The appetizers were special, my swordfish, my wife’s two lb lobster and my daughters steak were perfectly prepared and presented. Staff is friendly and helpful and both the restaurant manager and the food and beverage manager are on the floor making sure all is well. A wonderful experience at a place that has a great view of the harbor!

Beautiful view and great location. But the meal was horrible. My mom, baby nephew(11 months) and I stopped in for a quick lunch after a walk to Children’s Beach. My mom and I both ordered the Chicken Chop Chop Salad, which should be fairly easy to do well. Grilled chicken, iceberg, egg, cherry tomatoes, bacon, blue cheese, red onion and croutons. I have had similar salads many places, and it’s usually tasty. This one was not. There were no eggs, only about 3 small cherry tomatoes, a tiny amount of bacon and blue cheese. The red onion was pickled or something gross. I don’t even remember the croutons. The lettuce was old, wilted and too cold. There was WAY too much chicken(probably about 24 oz) and it was just sitting on top of the salad. Disgusting. The worst salad I have ever had. Basically a pile of chicken on top of cold, soggy lettuce. At $ 24, we expected WAY more. So disappointing.

Propelled to write my first review by our meal here tonight. If you are looking for a great vista and aren’t picky about food, service, or value, then by all means enjoy the view. The lobster pasta side was sublime, but the crab cake, steak tartar, and tomato side were miles behind many that we have had elsewhere. The swordfish was fine/good. Service was perky but forgetful, ie. drinks, silverware, seasoning, and the bill had to be sought out. The experience overall was mildly aggravating. For the caliber of the hotel(and the price) I expected higher standards.

Wow wow wow! First of all, the location of this restaurant is breathtaking. The table I was seated at had a direct view of the harbor and it really added to the Nantucket visiting experience for me. Second, at this restaurant I had the BEST lobster macaroni and cheese I have had in my entire life. The whole lobster seems to be jammed into the bowl, and it also seems that there is more lobster in the dish than actual noodles(which is impressive and delicious, if you ask me). And, while this dish is located under the«sides» portion of the menu, I left the table feeling fully satisfied. Loved that macaroni and cheese!!! Side note: under«attire» on Unilocal,it says«dressy» but I didn’t see very many patrons dressed up, the restaurant is connected to a hotel, so I saw several of the hotel patrons in shorts in tshirts, so I’m not exactly sure if there is a «dress code»

I ate at the White Elephant when I was a little girl and wanted to go back. My husband and I had a lovely meal, with a table overlooking a beautiful harbor. the staff was very attentive, continuously asked if we needed anything and brought whatever we requested right away. There is a $ 33 prix fixe, 3 course dinner that tempted us, but we ended up splitting a 2 pound broiled lobster that was delicious. For a starter, we had mozzarella and green tomatoes. With dinner, we had asparagus and radish salad and potato fingerlings. I had the cranberry bread pudding for dessert, which was outrageously good. There were many multi-generational families eating. Although the website says the dress is «business casual,» there were many diners wearing shorts and flip flops. The restaurant is expensive but no more than other places we have been in Nantucket. Including ½ bottle of wine, an NA beer, coffee, an after dinner drink and the tip, the bill came to about $ 200. If you are looking for a noisy, trend hot spot, this isn’t a place for you. But if you want a leisurely, delicious meal in a beautiful setting, this is a good bet. We plan to return for the prix fixe meal this week.

Service was spectacular! We did have to wait some time for food to come and my boyfriend’s chicken was cool by the time we got it. Everything tasted great though. Overall a very good experience.

After a lackluster experience last year, my family decided to give the Brant Point Grill another try this summer, and we had a much better experience this time. I am on the fence between three and four stars, but since I think the restaurant is grossly overpriced, I will go for three. That being said, the setting was beautiful as always. The service was much improved. Our server was absolutely charming, professional, friendly, helpful yet unobtrusive. Overall, the staff seemed very concerned that we enjoyed our meal, and all were attentive, but were also happy to chat with patrons and joke around a little. Last year I was not happy with my entrée, so I ordered very carefully this year. After a week of eating seafood, I enjoyed my petit filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly, with some nice blue cheese on top. The sides I chose, potatos and creamed spinach, went very nicely. Another person in my family enjoyed the scallops, which were a lighter entrée. Since the food is so ridiculously overpriced here, we could not see spending almost $ 20 each on appetizers or salads, and decided to just do entrees, some wine, and a shared dessert, which was just right. I live in New York City, and I continue to find the prices at the Brant Point Grill astonishing. Glad the steak was perfect– for fifty dollars it should be!(Plus more for sides). My only other minor complaint is that the music was a little cheezy, and the general volume on the veranda(with noisy tables) was loud– it was hard for us to hear each other.

Before I begin let’s agree this isn’t for the budget minded. Brant located in the White Elephant hotel is far above average. Before joining the Grand tasting of the Nantucket wine festival I decided to get a good base as tastings can easily turn into a long day of wine and fun. I started with the Pappardelle and clams. Tremendous taste. The noodles are made from scratch and were very light and flavorful. The clams were fresh and paired nicely with the sauce, garlic and tomatoes. I simply cannot remember having better. I then followed with a hamburger topped with cheddar cheese and bacon and a side of fries. Both selections were fresh, flavorful and arrived properly cooked as well as presented beautifully. The service was attentive but not bothersome and the décor made you feel like a lucky guest of some wealthy island based family. All in all a very good experience.

This place is a tourist trap! Avoid. I had many great dining experiences while on Nantucket. However, Brant Point Grill was not one of them. We went there for the mothers day Sunday brunch. It was a all you can eat buffet. The chicken was dry. The asparagus was overcooked. The bloody mary«bar» had very few selections. The bill came to $ 171.00 for 2 which was more than any other meal we had and the least satisfying.

If you are looking for ‘fine dining’ on Nantucket and don’t want to drive/bike or cab all the way out to the Wauwinett, Brand Point Grill at the White Elephant is where you want to go. You can walk there easily from the docks or downtown.(5 minute walk straight down a street). Nantucket suprisingly doesn’t have many/any beach front restaurants. So, if you are looking for a water view … the harbour is about as close as you will get. The view from the outside dining is great … you see all the boats coming in and going across a green lawn with wildflowers growing along the edge. The atmosphere is very New England … grey weathered shingles with white trim. The only part I don’t like about the Brant Point is they installed a canvas roof over the outdoor eating area … so unless they set tables on the grass, you can no longer dine under the stars or sunshine. I used to like it when it was open air better … especially because unless you get one of the tables right next to the opening, it almost feels like you are dining inside. The service is great … professional waitors. Sure, they do push the drinks pretty hard … but they also leave you alone and let you enjoy your meal without being overly attentive. I did notice that the check hits the table before dessert and coffee is finished. They do like to turn the tables over … which at the prices they charge, I think they could rush you less during non-crowded times. The food is very good. I like the lunch menu better than the dinner menu because it gives you more variety. Dinner is maily lobster, steak, fish and fancy pastas. My favorite menu item is the Nantucket Picnic Basket … which is a cup of their AMAZING homemade chowder(creamy, tasty and loaded with clams and potatos … including two fried clams on top) and half of their lobster roll. The lobster roll is small but packed with meat, which is not overseasoned so you can really taste the lobster. Although this is not a huge meal, it does fill you up. The drinks are pricey(local bottled beer is $ 8 … meixed drinks are in the $ 15 range). But this is a Ritz Carlton type atmosphere, so that is to be expected. The most famous drink on their menu is the Lobster Bloody Mary, which is a Bloody Mary that has a skewer containing an unshelled lobster(claws, tail, etc.) It is VERY expensive, but you are esentially ordering a drink plus a cold lobster out of the shell, so its understandable. Overall, this is a great experience for anyone who goes to Nantcuket and does not want to eat at a touristy or cheap place. I’d recommend it for special occasions or a splurge on the island. If you are going, know that it is a separate location from the hotel … so get the address before you go.

We have now eaten a full dinner here, and will say that the service for a regular service is quite good. The food is exceptional. With a large group of coworkers, we were able to enjoy ahi tuna, crab cakes, and shrimp cocktail as appetizers, all excellent. Everyone loved their meal, and while I didn’t go with local seafood, opting for what turned out to be a huge platter of supper fresh and sweet Alaskan king crab legs with drawn butter, my meal was excellent. If you choose sides, I can’t recommend the smashed potatoes enough — you can taste the butter and cream coming through the fresh potatoes. Desserts are delightfully decadent. I recommend the cinnamon pull-aparts for those with a sweet tooth and the seven layer cake for the chocoholics. This is a classic fine dining experience with a beautiful view and food worth the price. It does get rather loud under the canvas covered patio when the sides are down and the restaurant is full though.

Clearly, the staff of this restaurant is well trained. The restaurant is large, clean, well organized with both inside and outdoor seating. Menu and wine options are plentiful, wait staff is very friendly, with service to match. Can’t see any reason to knock the place, so five stars it is.

Went back to Nantucket for Thanksgiving again to stay at the White Elephant. I’ve decided to make it an annual trip, mostly because of the fantastic Thanksgiving dinner at the Grill. They enclose the deck with clear plastic windows and serve every possible variant of harvest food as an unlimited buffet. The high point for me was the raw bar, which was just amazing. Every course was special, and a group of four of us enjoyed the setting for over three hours. Accompanied by some outrageously good wines and a magnificent view of the harbor, we were treated so well by a wonderful staff, from wait staff to sommelier to manager. The cost was between $ 75 and $ 80 per person for the buffet, but the wine made up the much larger part of the bill. In our defense, there was no driving back to our rooms and it was over the course of three hours. As a special treat, the next morning I had breakfast in the grill and sat at a table across the aisle from Joe and Jill Biden. No political statement, just that my son and I found it a little exciting to talk about eggs with a vice president. The island is beautiful and the Brant Point Grill is set in an amazing resort in an ideal location. They pulled out every possible stop in their Thanksgiving presentation. I really can’t think of a better meal, and I will be there next year, too.
