Easy to find and a quick walk from the ferry. The innkeepers weren’t home when I arrived but left a key to my room with my name on it. I didn’t see anyone the whole time I was coming in and out for the whole weekend, and as I like privacy, this was nice. For what I payed for, the room was great. It had a double bed and also a futon. There was a heater in the room, which we didn’t need but was a nice touch. The room had a tv and a full private bathroom. On the way out I dropped the key with the innkeeper and that was it, I would definitely stay here again.

If you’re a family with small children, know that not only will your online reservation be denied but when you call to inquire what the problem is, the answer will be, well a bit confusing and startling. I attempted to book a room for me, my husband and 1 year old daughter. Upon our reservation being denied, I called and was told, by Dianne, they only rent their largest room to groups of 3 or more. Because the queen bed wouldn’t fit the 3 of us, and that there wouldnt be enough floor space. I was confused on many levels by this comment. 1. We have a queen size bed ourselves and all fit quite nicely. 2. Im not sure how much floor space matters when typically people sleep in the bed… And 3. Im mainly not sure how your incredible need to micromanage each of your guests down to the bed size thats right for them is even legal?! The room she was referring to, as the only one fit for 3 people, is a room with two queen beds. I stated it was 2 adults and a baby, and we only needed one bed. My daughter does not need her own bed nor does she require an extra 100+ sq ft of room space. She went on to talk at me, in quite a condensending manner I might add, about how she«knows what parents bring and knows what babies need, and all their gear». I find it quite interesting how she only would accept parties of 3 or more, regardless of age/size, in her most expensive room. I wasn’t born yesterday. Well Dianne, we travel light and my 1 year olds«gear» all fits into a small backpack. But thank you for your incredibly rude attitude, unwelcoming and borderline ilegal behavior, and most importantly for ensuring that none of our friends or family who could’ve been a large target audience for your hotel, will never set foot on your property. You are not an expert in my child or her needs. Or the needs of any of your guests for that matter. Although my current address is Florida, I’m from the Cape and am very well connected in the hospitality industry, you definitely picked the wrong person to deny at your hotel.

Hawthorn House is a well maintained, centrally located Guest House(not a B&B) that is thoughtfully connected to the Nantucket community. Nearby restaurant owners, shopkeepers and other providers seemed to have fond comments and feelings about the Hawthorn House. The suite we booked for two nights easily accommodated the four of us in our family with our own small bathroom within the suite, WIFI and adjoining room. Mitch and Diane were responsive and took care of a small issue quickly. I would stay there again if I was seeking an in-town Guest House.

Loved the Hawthorne House. Mitch and Diane the Innkeepers were so nice and welcoming. First time staying overnight on Nantucket and chose this Inn because they didn’t require two nights. Fantastic location with easy access to Main St. Took a cab from the Hy-Line Ferry but you could walk if you aren’t loaded down with luggage. Received two $ 9 for choice of two restaurants on Main St. Ate at Arnos and it was very good, though did cost a little more than the vouchers. Stayed in Room 1 which was large with an bright, clean bathroom. Would definitely stay here again. Next time for a few more days.

Nice homey inn with a great location! The innkeepers leave you to your privacy if you want. Our room was comfortable and the price was just fine for the island. Would stay here again.

Great location in Nantucket. Price was reasonable(for Nantucket!) and the room was neat and clean. Hosts were friendly and accomodating. We would stay again if we traveled back to the island.
