Amazing burgers and jerk chicken! Don’t forget their waffle fries. Great quick meal. The burgers remind me of that Burger King Flame Grilled smell with a thicker patty which is what really makes the burger great!

We were grateful to find a casual, relatively cheap option like this during our recent stay on Nantucket. Friendly service, fun island vibe. I had a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. It was made to order, the bagel was grilled, not toasted, heavy on the bacon. Perfect amount of cheese. Delicious. I couldn’t finish it. Husband had a steak, egg & cheese breakfast burrito. He was disappointed that it didn’t have any beans or veggies, hot sauce, etc. in it but said it was good nonetheless.

The burgers are good, better than they were a few years back. The fries are a perfect companion to the burger. They have this spice blend you can put on them. Coffee is good too, although it is pricey(It IS Nantucket after all.) I recommend it on a shoelace budget.

Quickly, easy, efficient, fast food. We love the simple clam roll and fries or grill cheese. Nothing fancy but does the job when you are on a schedule.

Good place catch a bite on the go, I stopped in to grab a breakfast sandwich on my way to at our. The service was fast and very friendly. The sandwich was very good and much larger than I expected. Definitely a good place to stop and grab something to go. They have very little seating so it would be unlikely to be able to have a seat especially if you hit during peak times.

Great for late night fried everything. We called and ordered a few things, got there in 5 minutes, and we were on our way! Cheap meals on the island are scarce; if you’re looking for some greasy satisfaction that won’t cost a ton, go to Stubbys.

What can I say? Can’t beat a 5 dollar burger! Throw in a heap of fries for 2 dollars, pick up a drink alongside, and your stomach is filled up for cheap. The food quality is actually very decent without needing fancy spices, sauces, or cooking methods. It won’t turn any heads, but the simple, filling fare is a godsend if you find yourself wandering around feeling peckish, and it’s perfect if you just stepped off the ferry and need some fuel for a walk about town.

I didn’t plan on going to Stubby’s while on Nantucket — but I found myself there twice and they saved me both times from my preggo hungry self! The first was for lunch when my husband and I were walking around downtown after going to the whaling museum. I was not expecting to get hungry so early in the afternoon and wanted something filling but didn’t want to spend a lot for an over the top lunch. We stopped at Stubby’s and I got a grilled cheese — it was simple, perfect, and hit the spot. The next time I found myself there was when we were about to board the ferry home — again hunger crept up on me and I needed a cheeseburger! Stubby’s delivered again — it was yummy and hit the spot for our ferry trip back to the main land. Thank you for saving the day(twice)!

As suggested in several previous Unilocal reviews my wife and I stopped in for a quick breakfast before catching the ferry. Great spot for breakfast sandwiches and the hash browns rule! We were both huge fans of the biscuits. None of the crumbles in your hand and turns to dust after the first bite nonesense. Hope I can come back sometime and try some of their lunch offerings as well.

Stubby’s is a great place patronized by locals and tourists alike. It’s just down the street from where the Nantucket Ferry drops you off so it’s the perfect stop for a quick bite. There is simply no good food to be had on the ferry so if you haven’t brought your own you just might be a bit famished when you disembark and want something right away. Stubby’s has an eclectic menu starting with typical burgers, hot dogs and fries but then moves into more interesting territory which includes thinks like Jamaican jerk chicken, curried mutton and beef stew. There are a variety of salads as well as several kinds of panini. There are clam rolls, fish plates and some deli style sandwiches. There are usually a couple of soups including a clam chowder. They have a few breakfast items served all day long too. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious. But since I’m no longer eating bread and I was wanting an egg and sausage, I had to buy the breakfast sandwich and deconstruct it. Not a big deal but I wish they would serve eggs et al just in a bowl or on a plate. You get get a variety of beverages here including a pretty good cup of coffee or an espresso or cappuccino. Service is quick and pleasant. It is a small storefront type of place and while there are a couple of high tables and stools inside your best bet is to sit outside on one of the benches and people watch or take your food to go. They manage to churn out quite a bit of food in such a small place. A great food stop, conveniently located by the wharf with reasonable prices. But don’t forget; this is Nantucket. Reasonable prices are relative.

Stubbys is appropriately located right near the ferry dock so you can grab a sandwich for the journey home. It isn’t a destination I seek out when I travel to the island but is a great place to stop for food when you are in a time crunch. What to get: The fried chicken breast sliders are insanely good! Cuban sandwich Any cold sandwich What not to get: Fish tacos. I was really disappointed with these. Basically just a fish stick in a loose tortilla with some sort of taco season/sauce. The rice and beans it came with were also dry and unappetizing.

Our first meal as an engaged couple!(ha) We got engaged at sunrise and couldn’t wait to come back to stubbys, eat and call our parents. Conveniently located by the wharf, Stubbys offers up a killer breakfast sandwich. Breakfast, being my favorite meal, is a priority in the morning. Most days on our trip after late nights out and long biking excursions, a hearty breakfast was needed. I can’t say the bagel options are endless but the bread and the English muffins are so fresh and soft. Pretty much just your basic breakfast sandwich options but these are out of this world! They don’t scramble the egg on the sandwich but they do a fried egg which I enjoyed and I’m weird about eggs. We ate breakfast twice here and were there for five days. We would pick up our sandwiches and take them back to the lovely garden of the sherberne inn and sit in the Adirondack chairs. Limited seating but that’s ok.

All the locals know about this place and definitely recommend it for a good lunch, dinner, or even breakfast. Stubbys is way better than any McDonalds or Burger King out there. The wait for your order may be long but for good reason. The food is all fresh and cooked on the spot. Even the fries are fried when you order them. Their variety of their menu ranges from PB and J sandwiches to Jerk Chicken with Rice and Beans but if youre in the mood for a good burger that is reasonable in price and affordable(unlike next door’s $ 14 Burger at Lola’s which I heard is good but terribly expensive), this is the place to go to. Cheeseburger, Waffles Fries, and a Nantucket Nectar, that’s I really had to order. Soo good that I even had left overs(including fries!) to eat for the next day. And if youre not into burgers, their Paninis are good as well. The last time I was there, I ordered a Chicken, Tomato, and Pesto Panini. They warm it for you when you order it and everything in was fresh and good. Even if you want a little snack, the fries are cheap and huge in portion so you can share it. Ive also had Festival(Jamaican fried dough sort of like hush puppies) at Stubbys only for $ 1!!! and it was actually pretty good. Ive had some good Festival during my trip to Jamaica and I thought I would never find good festival in the U.S. so I was skeptically when I ordered it here but it was actually pretty good and for $ 1, it was great! So if youre looking to find a good meal on Nantucket where all the locals go but dont want to spend a lot of money, Stubbys is the place to go.

Stubby’s is trending down. That I know for sure. The rest is up in the air. Every summer their price, menu and food is different. The prices are of course going to rise – it is Nantucket after all. The menu is unpredictable from summer to summer, and you will never get an order prepared the same way twice. Nevertheless, Stubby’s remains the most popular place on Nantucket’s «strip». It’s late night hours is a plus as is the variety of food offered(always great to have a place serving breakfast sandwiches til 1am). The food is above average and the price is still OK. By far the worst part about Stubby’s is the wait. You can have a friend order something at a different place, come back to Stubby’s and finish their food, all while you are still waiting for your popcorn chicken. The best item is probably the«Deluxe Burger» if cooked right, although several items claim to be the«best of the island» according to loyal patrons. The pre-made subs are also pretty solid. I definitely think Stubby’s has taken advantage of its booming business and growing reputation. Unfortunately, this has driven up prices and driven down quality. Check out Stubby’s still, if only to line your stomach with greasy food before drinking.

I think great value and good customer service here. My S. O couldn’t finish her Roast Beef Panini and they heated it up the next morning. The fries you’re getting in the Combo are quiet large and they have a great selection of condiments.

You can get a good burger, fries and a drink for like $ 8. That’s really rare out here. They also have good subs, breakfast sandwiches, the fries are good… they also have some Jamaican specialties like jerk chicken, which are okay. Stubby’s is open late, is right on the disgusting Broad Street Strip, and is totally affordable. This place is one of the few things that makes town tolerable.
