I loved this store! I really did! I was so excited that it opened in the area, especially after the William Sonoma store close, but they have failed! I loved their cooking classes, I would take one at least once a month if not more, but then one weekend i had a bug(which of course is def not voluntary) and I had called after getting back from the doctor, to say I wasn’t going to make it. Called customer service number, they said they couldn’t help, but they transferred me to the number for the classes. Of course it went straight to voicemail, I left a message saying I had a bug, and that I REALLY wanted to take the class(I had reallllllllly been looking forward to the class), I wasn’t looking for a refund of any sort, just wanted to see if they could move me to the next available class of its kind… Needless to say never got a call back or anything. My friend had taken the class bc I was going to take it, and she told them, so you would think they would put two and two together, but nope, nothing. Truly disappointed in their lack of customer service. These classes aren’t cheap, but for me they were worth the price. Don’t see the point of spending money somewhere(trust I spent lots each time I went it) that does not put customer satisfaction as a priority. My heart is broken, as I will truly miss shopping there.

I love this branch of Sur La Table. My previous experience had been at their Westchester Mall shop. I did not like that one as it was in the basement, was claustrophobic and had slim to no internet access. But they had nice merchandise, were much friendlier and less snooty than the ladies at W-S down the hall so I gave them a chance. But now that I have this Nanuet option, I need not ever go back to WP to experience and enjoy Sur La Table. I have been there many times for shopping and once for a vegetarian cooking class which was a lot of fun. I have procured many dish towels some at great prices and also some little hits in their deeply discounted sales area. The salespeople tend to be very helpful as well. I have picked up many bits and bobs there like ramekins, ceramic measuring spoons and these amazingly sharp colorfully decorated German paring knives which are usually discounted post whichever holiday. They have a nice selection of high end espresso makers and enough standard items to justify checking in for their sales along with several items I simply cannot live without. A dash into Sur la Table makes for a fun and culinarily enriching experience each visit.(And their sister shop Paper Source is right across the street too).
