I wasn’t quite as impressed as I thought I would be looking at all of the great reviews. We were here for Saturday lunch. I can’t say that anything was bad… food or service, it just wasn’t outstanding. I had the beef stroganoff, which was tasty, but some of the beef was tough. Others in my party had the sausage pizza, and albacore tuna sandwich. They had the same reaction. It was good, but not five star. Maybe dinner is the best bet.

Slow service makes this place lose a star. We both ordered medium rare steaks and it still took 30 – 35 minutes to come out. Add another 5 minutes for our fries and another few minutes for the ketchup, a recipe for starving customers. The food however, is finger licking, yum yum goodness! The flavors are strong, well executed and overall excellent. The presentation and price range is great. In terms of food and flavor, probably the best we have had in Napa. The grounds and dim lights throughout make for a romantic ambiance and a wonderful date night.

Awesome food and great atmosphere! We had a very large group and the service was still on point. I ate the sole and it was amazing.

This place was as good as the reviews have cited. My gf and I came for a weekend away and heard about it through a Travelzoo offer. The ambiance was great. We got a great seat outdoors to see the sunset and visited it their veggie garden. For having a voucher, the service was still great. Sometimes when you purchase a voucher, you don’t get good service at some places. Our server was awesome and had good recommendations. The best part was that there was someone around to give you more water and bread and you did not have to wait. The food was cooked to perfection. The flavors were great. Def would come back again.

Brix is a must if you are visiting Napa. Beautiful setting overlooking vineyards with a lovely patio and garden area. If you enjoy farm to table you must eat here. Service is wonderful and the food is delectable! They are also dog friendly. :)

This is only a review addressing their Sunday brunches, which I recommend all my friends who travel to Napa on a Sunday to try at least once. One of the best all you can eat traditional american brunches in the bay. The oyster bar alone makes up for the prices. All food is freshly prepared. Chefs are visible from the counter diligently working on all the tasty treats. Service is exceptional here.

It was 10 years ago when I first came here with my mom and this time I came back with my mom, stepdad, and boyfriend for a post Christmas lunch. It was a Saturday 12⁄27 and we didn’t make reservations — the wait for a party of 4 was about 20 – 30 minutes. We decided to sit at the bar, which was full service, and skipped the wait. From the minute we sat down the bartender/server was extremely personable and attentive. I ordered the brix cheeseburger, my stepdad and boyfriend both tried the fish and chips, and my mom ordered the pepperoni pizza. The burger was AMAZING — simple, but superbly seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium. The fish & chips were extremely tasty and juicy as well, and my mom’s pizza was absolutely fantastic as it was made in a wood fire oven. I cant say enough good things about Brix! We even spent some time after lunch and walked around the vineyard in the back, great photo op!

We had Christmas dinner here with friends — what a HUGE disappointment. We had been looking forward to this for weeks — it was NOT good. They had a price fixed menu which looked quite good and based on their Unilocal reviews we were expecting something quite special for Christmas day. As you can see from the pictures, this is a lovely restaurant inside and out. And actually my food pictures make it look quite yummy but it was not. We all had the sea scallops — two mere bites — ok but barely enough to taste. My husband had the prime rib — when he ordered it medium rare the waiter said it had ALL been cooked to medium — seriously!?! He did say he’d make an effort to find a rare piece — which he did. But the prime rib was about ¼ inch thick, not particularly tender or flavorful. The other 3 of us had the fish — overly salted and super thin — more that a piece of fish skin. The desserts were ok but nothing memorable — the crème brule was like a pudding — not crème brûlée. The service was ok — timely though not especially friendly. So all that to say, I guess one doesn’t get much in Napa for $ 65 price fixed(without wine) and with little other competition on Christmas day… We may try to come back to try their regular menu which gets good reivews but we do NOT recommend this restaurant for a holiday fixed price menu at all!

I had a great birthday dinner for my boyfriend at Brix. The service was great, and they comped dessert wine and a corkage fee for his birthday. We had some great appetizers, especially loved the tempura green beans and potstickers. I had the hanger steak and he had the short ribs, both were really tasty. We were a little worried that this place would be too touristy, but ended up really loving it. I’ll definitely return on my next Napa trip!

Beautiful scenery. However, wayyyy over hyped, too pricey, and the food was not what I was expecting. When we went for brunch, they were running out of items and were pretty much ready to close up shop. It was really uncomfortable to ask the chef for a few more slices of the apple smoked bacon. Also, a few of the items looked like they had been sitting there for hours and were«dying on the pass» before they even hit the client for them to put on their plate. I will say this, the place itself is super pretty, beautiful vineyard scenery and pretty outdoor seating at a wooden table setting. The staff seemed rushed and unhappy with our later arrival to the brunch hours. But if its until 1pm, then don’t be mad when we get there at 12:30. Probably will not plan to go back anytime soon.

First of all, beautiful grounds. Get a table by the back windows or on the patio if weather permits. We opted for inside since it was over 100 degrees the day we visited.(WTH Napa! We expect this from TX but not from you) Brix BLAT: pretzel bun, maple rubbed bacon, heirloom tomatoes, avocado, tomato aoli. As delicious as it looks :)

3.5 = Beautiful vista; food was just OK. After a wonderful morning at a wine tasting at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, I looked around on Unilocal for nearby restaurants and Brix stood out with its reviews. This is where Unilocal may lead you astray. It was really enjoyable to sit outside in the garden /outdoor area. The indoor seating looked very cozy and wonderful ambiance as well. Brix had such promise. On a Thursday at 2pm, we were seated promptly. I ordered the salmon and my fiancé had the sliced prime rib sandwich. They were both OK entrees. Expensive for mediocrity but the scenery was wonderful. Service was fine. Afterwards, we walked around their vegetable garden and finished our wine in the seating available in the garden. No one rushed us out, so we appreciated being able to unwind the rest of our afternoon there.

They are a little slow to seat people even though we had reservations, showed up on time and they dining room was more than half empty. We were finally seated in a booth by the window(don’t sit by the window). The window sill was FULL of cobwebs and spiders(both dead and alive). Seeing how dirty the dining room was made me worry about the conditions of the kitchen. Despite these less than ideal conditions, the food was delicious. For starters we had the potstickers, crab cakes, flat bread pizza and wild boar meatballs. I had the scallops for my meal. Everything tastes great and loved the fresh vegetables. Overall, the service was a little slow but the food was amazing. Oh and while we waited for our food, my friend and I even walked outside around the garden. Beautiful view. I’d probably eat here again, given they do some dusting and clean up the cob webs. Come on guys! No one wants to look at arachnids while they eat!

It’s been a while but we’ve been to Brix in the past and it’s still great! Wife and I had the BLAT sandwich — it was awesome! Who could have thought a Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado & Tomato sandwich could be so good! The bacon was thick and juicy! Best bacon I’ve ever had. The bread was outrageous — hoagie shape/sized pretzel bread! A must try for lunch next time you are in the area. Staci our server recommended!

My fiancé and I came here for our 3-year anniversary and I booked the reservation on Open Table. It was really cute because when we came in, they seated me on the patio, like I had requested, and they gave us a card. They addressed it to us as Mr. and Mrs. using my last name! Haha, we aren’t married yet, but I joked that maybe he should take my last name instead ;) They also brought complimentary sparkling wine. all were really nice touches and shows they read the comments when people book online. Try to dine outside if it’s a nice warm summer night! It’s so beautiful in the garden and really added to the ambiance. They have string lights for when it gets darker too. We started with a peach and burrata salad($ 14). Mmm burrata! :) He ordered the seafood provencal with bay scallops, rock shrimp, squid over spaghettini($ 26). The sauce was soo good on this! Rich, tomato saucy blended with seafood flavors and a hint of wine. I got the pan roasted Panamian Cobia with saffron bouillabaisse, PEI mussels, red pepper rouille and grilled bread($ 33). The fish was cooked to perfection! We also got corn fritters on the side($ 7) but it wasn’t quite like what I was expecting. I had gotten these super delicious corn fritters at an izakaya place in Berkeley once(Ippuku) but there were nothing like that. The corn was more like cornmeal rolled into a hush puppy and dipped in lobster butter. Good, but not what I imagined. We were too full for dessert, but walked around the garden after dinner and enjoyed the grounds. I definitely want to come back and try their Sunday brunch because it looks amazing! :) Service, views, food were on point!

We had the best evening at Brix last night! Our reservation was for 7PM but we arrived at 6PM to have a cocktail while exploring their beautiful gardens. {I recommend doing this!} The gardens are absolutely gorgeous with tons of fresh fruits & veggies; squash, pumpkins, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, grapes and pears, to name a few. Walking around the gardens and in between the grapevines with my love around sunset was so romantic! We loved it. We had requested a table outside but didn’t hold our breath as they’re in high demand and this is a very busy weekend in Napa. Especially when the weather is perfect. To our surprise, the sweet hostess found a table for us outside! We were so happy! Ok, now on to the food. We ordered the Dungeness crab fondue {with Brie and artichoke hearts} to start and it was off of the charts. Next, we split the heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad, straight from the garden, this salad was a major winner! For my entrée, I got the ribeye {cooked to perfection} and it was served with delicious smashed potatoes & sautéed mushrooms. If you’re a steak lover, I would definitely recommend this! My boyfriend got the pork chop {it had the best flavor!} and his sides were ratatouille & Swiss chard. Lastly, we ordered a side of their Mac & Cheese. It was good but not great, could have been a lot cheesier and creamier! Side Note: You can bring in a bottle of wine that you purchased during your winery adventures and their corkage fee is $ 20. All in all, I absolutely loved our experience at Brix and will definitely recommend it to friends & family when they come to the wine country! It was also a recommendation from my dad which always means that it will be fab!

My husband and his family are members of a French Club who take a lot of awesome annual trips, including a destination trip to Wine Country Napa. For the last two years Brix has been the destination-of-choice for Les Faneurs’ wine trip. We begin the day with hor d’oeuvres and champagne at Domaine Carneros and then complete the event with a fancy lunch in the beautiful garden at the back of Brix. The staff is nothing but warm and welcoming and gracious in every way. They professionally serve food to our group of 100+ as simultaneously as imaginable. Which leads me to the food! We have a multi-course prix fixe menu beginning with butter lettuce salad, then entrees including both tender grilled salmon and juicy, rare filet mignon(perfectly cooked!). I’m a seafood lover so to no fault of the steak the salmon is always my favorite of the two dishes — it’s outstanding! Last to join the party is our dessert(buttercream cupcakes are terrific — the crème brulee is my favorite though!) The wine glasses are kept full through the entire lunch and the servers are really attentive to keeping water glasses full too. And of course, coffee and cream at the end of the meal. The outdoor seating here has always been set up nicely with beautiful tables in three long rows. They also put umbrellas out and so even though there are lots of spots in the sun, we get plenty of shade for part of the lunch also. It’s really nicely done. We are also welcome to walk through their gardens and grapes — and at the back of the property are the railroad tracks where the wine train slowly strolls by from time to time. This is a really lovely place to lunch outdoors.

I had the pleasure of visiting Brix with my wife and mother-in-law to celebrate my wife’s graduation from the Culinary Institute of America in March of 2014. My wife and I are huge foodies, and we wanted to go somewhere nice to celebrate. We were not let down by Brix! We had a late dinner because very few tables were open via OpenTable two weeks prior to the reservation, which was strange because the restaurant was close to empty when we dined. We visited back in March, which is the off tourist season for Napa since the vineyards are just starting to wake up from the«cold winter.» It was just confusing as to why the reservations seemed full when we checked. Down to business, our server was fantastic, cheerful, and friendly. We definitely felt taken care of, and she was quite social in serving our table. At one point she offered my graduate wife, an application to work in the kitchen. The entire night she kept the table adequately topped off on water and drinks. The atmosphere of Brix can be described as rustic. It has a country home feel to it, and an entire wall has large glass windows that allow you to see the foothills, garden, and surrounding vineyards. We sat inside but there is also a patio that you can sit at out by the restaurant’s local garden. I had a delicious Carneros pinot noir with a Wagyu skirt steak cooked medium. The steak was cooked perfectly and fell apart it my mouth. The glaze on the steak complemented it well, and it had the right balance of salt and acid. The fries weren’t anything special, but they were well executed. For dessert we ordered«fancy smores,» which ended up being a cute interactive dish. The dish was served with its own heat source, and we got to assemble our smores and cook/burn them to our liking! Both the graham crackers and chocolate marshmallows were made in house and had a good consistency. I would definitely recommend this fun dish if you stop in. Overall, Brix is a rustic experience with a quiet atmosphere that is perfect to sit and enjoy after a day of wine tasting. Just be prepared to shell out(of course it’s no where near as pricey as the Laundry), but if you’re in Napa, CA you are probably prepared to do that anyways!

I really enjoyed the courteous service, delicious food(LOVE the Brussels Sprouts appetizer and Skirt Steak), and relaxing ambiance. The price point is reasonable for restaurants in Napa($ 50+ per person including tax and gratuity). Overall, Brix is one great restaurant to enjoy dinner after a full day of tasting in the Wine Country. The food is of high quality and lives up to the expectations of all the renowned restaurants in the area. :) P. S. To Valerie K. of Brix: This was my second visit to Brix. The first time was August 2014 in celebration of my brother’s Birthday, and he got a B-day card signed by the staff at Brix. May I suggest a free dessert next time for the Birthday boy?
