Super underwhelmed — my friend won at ordering. Don’t remember what we got but other than the drinks(which were great), nothing to recommend.

Had an amazing lunch at Celadon today. Many thanks to Angelica for amazing recommendations and exceptional service. The muscles were amazing and the pasta was perfect! If they have the lava cake you need to try it!

Came here for valentine’s day dinner. First time ever being in Napa. The food was so good! The calamari was tender and the braised pork belly was super delicious!!! Main entrees were filet mignon and the pasta dish. Both very good. Dessert was the star though. Banana crème brûlée. Yummy!!! Service was great, everyone was attentive. Overall, great experience for a first dinner experience in Napa.

Had dinner last night(It’s the last weekend in January). We were first seated in the covered patio, which was a bit noisy. Since it was our first time dining here, we were kind of looking around and I could see there was another dining area off the patio. We went and looked at it and we were immediately greeted by Joel, the General Manager. We explained that we had been seated in the patio but thought this was more to our preference. We were sat without issue in a nice quiet corner booth. It was much quieter in this the main dining room and more on the elegant side compared to the patio. Both were quite large, so I bet this place gets hopping in the on season. I had arranged this weekend as a Christmas present for my husband and we wanted to try somewhere new. This place didn’t disappoint. The martini’s were great and they had his favorite gin, 209(it’s a local place made in Alameda), so that’s always a good start. They brought us bread and a really good dipping sauce of olive oil, balsamic, garlic and a bunch of herbs. It was delicious. The bread wasn’t the best restaurant bread in the world but good and who cared once you put that yummy dip on it. I could have drank the stuff. He ordered the pork belly as I told him about the great reviews on Unilocal. It didn’t disappoint either. I had the special, which was a lobster tail with lobster risotto. It was fantastic. Hubs had the pasta with Little Neck Clams. That was fantastic too. Both were reasonably priced. The service was really very good and, granted, the place was largely empty but believe we still would have had the same service even if it was crowded. We will definitely be back and were happy to have found another great restaurant to go enjoy.

My girlfriend and I were impressed with Celadon’s excellent reviews and made a reservation far in advance. We started with the crispy soy-braised pork belly, which was a unique dish, and it was outstanding! Unfortunately, it was all downhill from here. Our dinner entrees were the duck and the scallop. While the scallops were OK, the duck was terrible. When he delivered the food, our server said the duck might have come out a little under medium, and offered to cook it a little longer. We declined, but as we began to ate the dish, we discovered parts that were red and still rare, and other parts that were well-done and were rock hard. Less than half of the meat was medium as we had ordered it. Since we started with the best looking strips of duck, by the time we had found these flaws, I didn’t feel comfortable complaining. This was really a shame — the veggies served with the duck were outstanding, and the way the meat was cooked ruined what would have otherwise been a fantastic dish. To make matters worse, when we were finished, our server Alex failed to ask us whether we enjoyed our meals(I would have politely pointed out the issue). Instead, he noticed the duck that was left behind and made a backhanded comment that«at least we got to try the scallops», failing to recogize or acknowledge that the meat was left behind because it was cooked terribly, not because we didn’t want it. He dropped the dessert menu and later the check without so much as a word. At this point, we were his last table for the night, and it was clear that he was more interested in going home than in making sure we had a great experience. Extremely disappointing — I expected better from a top Napa restaurant.

Portions were smaller, pricing is at a premium but service was amazing and the food quality is fabulous! I did feel that 4 scallops for $ 29 is pricey for an entrée and know that there are some other restaurants here in Napa that for the same pricing, I won’t walk away still hungry. I do enjoy really good food and know that the look & feel of a certain restaurant come with that price tag but still… I give it just A-OK but was close to giving it a «YAY I’m a fan!». Maybe if they provided an amuse buche? Don’t know…

We came here for Thanksgiving, while visiting family. We had the 4 course $ 65/person meal. Although it’s much more than we are used to spending on Thanksgiving we enjoyed our dining experience. Courses: 1. Butternut Squash Soup with Vanilla Oil 2. Salad with Blue Cheese and Beets 3. Turkey with stuffing and green beans 4. Pecan pie(my husband picked pumpkin pie with his…) Sides of Mashed potatoes or sweet potatos are extra. The food came out in a timely manner and everything was a stepped up version of anything we could make at home. This is a splurge-worthy place to eat.

We came here a few weeks back and while it was a nice experience, we weren’t really wowed I guess(for the money). Talking about it, we probably prefer ethnic cuisine to American/Californian, but it was a good dinner in general. I made a reservation for a weeknight, which turned out to be needed. It got packed. Walking in, the décor is upscale and large vintage posters line the walls. The lighting was particularly nice and the feeling in general was nice/casual/intimate/comfortable. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance. The staff was great. Our server answered every question, retrieved anything we needed and provided a nice experience. Throughout, she was pleasant and so was the pacing. When we mentioned that we would be sharing all of the dishes, she didn’t seemed upset by it(you know stuffy restaurants) and I thought that was professional of her. The busser, greeter, and bartender were all professional as well. So the food? We ordered and shared: Appetizer 1: crispy soy-braised pork belly with watermelon, daikon, fresh herbs and kecap manis —- the pork belly was crispy with a lot of flavor though with how much watermelon served, it didn’t really seem to be balance. That and it was November, so a fresh plate of watermelon seemed odd. Perhaps this dish would be better in the summer. Appetizer 2: salad of the day: quail salad!!! I LOVE quail, so I was sold the moment she said the word. The quail itself was succulent and tasty, but the dressing on the salad was just far to much. It drowned out the freshness of the ingredients. Entrée: seared day boat scallops, mashed potatoes, buttered leeks, tarragon beurre blanc —This was good and the scallops were cooked well. This was just a standard taste though with nothing special to it. Overall, everything was nice, but I didn’t feel like it left with a feeling of satisfaction. If you like American/Californian a lot, you might have a better go at it. ***They have a patio, which seemed like it would be great for the summer months.

Oh yum!!! We were directed here by a friendly young man with whom I was chatting. Boy did he direct me to the right place. I ordered the pork belly(because I always wondered what pork bellies tasted like) and a wonderful drink called the Silverado Trail. It was strawberry lemonade with strawberry infused vodka. I was happy happy!!! The atmosphere was beautiful, with greenery abounding. Additionally the waitress was very friendly and professional.

This restaurant is beautiful and located right in downtown napa. We stopped by here for some dessert after a colleague highly recommended the lemon meringue pie. Wow– it was fantastic! Not too tart or sweet, actually paired perfectly with my whiskey. I would stop by again for another slice!

I feel fortunate to have chosen Celadon for the rehearsal dinner with family and friends to celebrate my son’s upcoming wedding in the Valley. Not having dined here before, I had validated Celadon as a great choice with a few a few respected Unilocal Elite friends from the Bay Area. They were right on the mark… Celadon came through with a cool vibe, great service and fantastic food. Our group of 13 somehow managed to order every appetizer and every entrée on the menu… and several desserts to cap off a memorable evening. We complimented the various dishes with a nice selection of local Napa red and white wines with the help of Manny, Celedon’s very knowledgeable Sommelier. The highest marks for appetizers went to the Soy-Braised Crispy Pork Belly w/Watermelon and the Flash Fried Calamari w/a spicy chipotle chilli glaze. Both were outstanding. Their New England Clam Chowder also deserves mention as I believe it would compete with the best of them on the coast of Maine. For entrees, the Seared Day Boat Scallops, the Moroccan Inspired Braised Lamb Shank, the Akaushi Flat Iron Steak and the night’s Pasta Special all got great reviews. For dessert, we especially enjoyed the Warm Apple Galette, the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée and the Lemon Meringue Pie. Great choice for our group dinner.

We’re doing our wedding rehearsal dinner at Celadon in a few months, so were pretty eager to experience dinner here. I know, weird that we settled on Celadon before having tried ourselves, but that should mean something. Rave reviews — both from the Unilocal community and our personal network, pointed us to Celadon. Happy to report, dinner was a success! The entryway and patio space is absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant itself is much smaller than I imagined, but offers a cozy, intimate spot. Because we were a little wined out, we tried a few cocktails and ok, more wine. The kiwi flavored cocktail was delicious. Food-wise, we tried the crab cake, endive salad, and steak. All solid selections! Dessert was easily the best part. One of the best crème brulees I’ve had to date. The added roasted bananas? Genius. And the lemon meringue pie was entirely fabulous. Not sure I’ll be as indulgent on our next visit, the night before my wedding, but I guess we’ll see ;)

I’ve been here many times over the years and every tim the experience has always been good. The food changes enough for you to come back and not see the same menu everytime, not to mention their rotating specials that they have. The food is always very well prepared, and the service ranges from good to great, depending on the time of day, how busy they are and who you end up with. The only complaint I have with this place is that I ordered bottle water one time, and they gave me FujU water(which is great), however, they did charge me $ 7.75…which was a shocker… that was back in 2012, so don’t get bottle water there.

Being the sister restaurant of Cole’s Chop House I guess I expected more. After I finished my meal I had a clear understanding of what I was dealing with and I came with expectations way too high. That said this is a worthwhile place to eat with good food and wine just not as high end as their sister restaurant. The prices are decent and the wine is fair. The local is good too.

This restaurant is UNBELIEVABLE… in a good way. After a traumatizing experience at Morimoto down the block, didn’t want to get my hopes up. Was pleasantly surprised! First, outside patio seating is a plus in the summer. Gorgeous table settings and greenery. Service was impeccable-always polite and accommodating. I tend to judge restaurants by the quality of their bread. The bread was standard, soft but nothing to write home about. Now the herb balsamic vinaigrette dip was to die for… literally just wanted to drink it up. Definitely beats boring butter in my book. SMALLPLATES ****Soy braised pork belly w/watermelon-great texture & flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside(would’ve happily ordered 4 of these and that’s saying A LOT) ***Macadamia crusted goat cheese-good, wasn’t a fan of the figs BIGPLATES ****Pasta special w/mahi mahi, shrimp, & mussels-they do pasta real well here. you can tell by noodle and sauce quality… perfect amount of creaminess & fresh seafood ***Duck breast-tender & juicy ***Moroccan lamb shank-pretty good, especially loved the couscous Bottom line: my stomach was very happy after this meal. You can’t go wrong with most dishes here. Get the pork belly. Just do it.

We were in Napa for a friend’s birthday and they had made reservations here. I was really excited for dinner because of the rave reviews on Unilocal. We were pretty wined out so we had cocktails with dinner. I had the naked sailor — sailor jerry spiced rum, pear purée, ginger syrup, lime juice, ginger ale($ 11), but I substituted the spiced rum for vodka. It was okayyyyy. The husband had a sazerac, which he thought was poorly done. For our second round, I got a moscow mule, which again was just okayyy. Meh on the drinks. For dinner, we ordered some shared plates for the table and then ordered some entrees. To share we ordered crispy soy-braised pork belly with watermelon, daikon, fresh herbs and kecap manis($ 16), flash fried calamari with a spicy chipotle chile and orange honey glaze, pickled ginger($ 15), and macadamia nut crusted goat cheese with port-poached figs, apples and crostini($ 14). The pork belly was really good and paired so well with the watermelon. Excellent dish! The calamari was suggested by the waitress as one of their signature dishes and it was meh. The goat cheese dish was pretty good, but nothing super special. The husband and I split the achiote-rubbed pork porterhouse, quinoa, peppers and grilled pineapple, lime-cured red onions($ 29). I was really excited about the grilled pineapple, but they were almost non-existent on my plate. Sad. Anyway, the porterhouse was pretty good. Flavorful and moist. The quinoa was also pretty good. Oh, and their bathrooms are outside of the restaurant and you need a code to get in. That was a little bit of a turnoff. Prices were high. Food was okay. The 4 star average is overinflated. A-OK

First time in Napa, we had a hard time deciding on a restaurant given that we were only spending two nights there and wanted to try everything. We finally settled on Celadon given that it had been recommended by the Michelin Guide 2015. Reservations were easily made online and our table was ready for us upon arrival. Décor is a bit conflicting as on one side you have an rustic garden feel with plants and a central fire place(which might be a good idea on colder evenings but emanated way too much heat for the temperature of our evening) and on the other a more formal almost boring décor. We opted to sit near the indoor plants which provided intimacy for date night but also came with some unwanted fruit fries. The service was impeccable, our waiter was present promptly to answer all our questions but didn’t come by too frequently to make any unwanted interruptions. Solid wine by the glass menu, highlighting the wines from the area. Good recommendations from the waiter as well. As appetizer we had the fried calamari which was sold to be the best fried calamari in Napa. It might have been the best fried calamari in Napa as we had nothing else to compare it too, but it was definitely not a noteworthy one. We’ve had much much better back home(for anyone ever visiting Montréal, go to Marvin’s for the best fried calamari you’ll ever have). For mains, we had the moroccan inspired braised lamb and the waygu sirloin served with onion rings. Both dishes were excellent. Very large and satisfying portions with excellent sauces to balance the meats. The lamb was fall off the bone juicy and the couscous was cooked perfectly and just a touch sweet from the raisins found inside. The beef was also very tender and addition of the onion rings gave the dish another complexity in texture. We opted to skip dessert as the mains were so filling that we didn’t feel the need to indulge any further. Overall, quite impressed with our choice. Was it Michelin worthy? Probably not, but definitely good enough to return.

Probably 4.5 stars. The service could have been more but damn if the food wasnt exactly what we needed after 10 hrs of wine tasting. My friend said«if I could marry crème brûlée… je le marias.» I didnt know exactly what that meant… but I couldnt agree more.

Good restaurant at Napa. Regular price for Napa, with a reduced menu that works. Some dishes are too much creative, not work for my taste. But it is interesting.
