This was our first stop and our most memorable. Knowledgeable people, friendly and great education. If you want a non-pretentious visit with excellent wines this is the place to go. We sat on their back deck under some umbrellas, played with their dog and enjoyed the visit. Their wine club value is superb. While I am not a rose enthusiast, I found their Syrah to be superb. Gary knows what he’s doing. Private tour — so you can’t just drop in.

Fortunati offers the biggest bang for your buck in tasting value and wine purchases! Their appointment only private tastings are a wine and cheese pairing! They choose some really nice and different cheeses that pair really well with their wines! I’m a member of their wine club and look forward to the deliveries twice a year! They even throw a great party for members, which only gives me an excuse to visit napa again!

What a special experience this was. I’ve done wine and food pairings before, but this time, seated at a long table with Ellen to guide us through each wine and the spectrum of flavors each wine possesses complemented by a variety of cheeses, dried fruits and nuts, I gained such invaluable knowledge of the art of wine making and tasting. As mentioned in another review, production is limited so it definitely feels like you’ve been able to experience something special, delicious wines in a beautiful setting, especially when one of the winery’s dogs lays at your feet and snoozes away. I would not hesitate to revisit Fortunati or recommend it to anyone and everyone.

What a lovely and intimate winery! The property is gorgeous and wines are limited production so buy it if you like it. We also brought our lunch and ate at the picnic tables… it was my favorite place in Napa. Tip: they also make olives so purchase some olive oil while there!

I cannot imagine a more personalized experience: learning about the vineyard and tasting some of Fortunati’s delicious wines. A group of 7 of my college friends were in Napa for a girls’ weekend retreat. Fortunati was our first stop on our second day of tasting — I could have stayed here all day! Ellen met us at our limo and led us to their backyard/vineyard. It was a perfect day so we stayed outside a bit while Ellen told us about their vineyard and talked about some of their wines — it was a nice opportunity to learn a bit and ask some questions. Ellen was such a natural hostess and all of us felt as if we were in the comfort of our own home. After discussing for a bit, Ellen led us inside where the dining table was set with appetizers(bagette, cheese, almonds, dried cherries, etc.) and sparkling water. Ellen’s husband(and also the winemaker) Gary met us at this point and we all sat down for a tasting together. What a fun way to start out our day! The wines were amazing and offered a nice variety of what Napa has to offer. I could have(probably should have!) gone home with one of each! Fortunati offered the most intimate tasting our group experienced in Napa. Gary and Ellen are incredible hosts and made everyone feel so at ease. This will be a must-stop on my next visit to Napa!

Hub and friends attended Fortunati’s Spring Release. Spent the afternoon savoring unbelievable wines, enjoying grilled meats and salads, listening to lovely music in the perfect setting that owners(Gary and Ellen) have created for their guest. They treat everyone like best friends — this an event that should not be missed. Gary’s shares his passion for wine and the art of wine making with anyone who is curious. And Ellen moves through the crowd with the beauty and ease of an experienced, gracious and skilled hostess. Gary and Ellen’s Spring Release is a mini-vacation from work and worries.
