Holmes Van & Storage

So glad we found these nice people! Our movers Terry, Victor and… I forget his name… were AMAZING!!! They were so personable and funny and gentle with our things. They worked quickly and efficiently and took great care not to piss off our neighbors at either location. I am really happy we used them and I would gladly recommend them to anyone!

Holmes Van and Storage was contracted by my moving company to come over to my place and pack my house up. They were just responsible for packing and boxing everything up.
Katherine came over a few days before to survey my home and get an estimate of how much stuff I had. She was on time and prompt with following up.
Katherine’s crew came over a few days later and completely boxed up all of my belongings. I didn’t realize how much stuff I had until I say everything in boxes. These guys worked very diligently non stop for most of the day. It always stressful when you have strangers basically going through all of your personal items. When they came across something of value they made it a point to stop and give to me. So it wouldn’t get lost.
I would highly recommend Holmes Van and Storage to anyone. I don’t know how much they charge. However I am sure it’s a situation where you pay for what you get. These guys were very professional and courteous.

I contacted this moving company because they were recommended to me by Coldwell Banker. George, the owner of the company, came to give me an estimate for my move. He was quite rude from the beginning of my estimate and he continued to be abrasive throughout the estimate process. I don’t know if it was because I was a woman or whether he was just having a really bad day. What was almost the final straw for me was when he said that he would refuse to move my grandparents armoire because he felt that it would not fit in the elevator. He had not even measured it! I told him I could not live without that particular piece of furniture and he said he would refuse to move it, period. The absolute final straw was when his estimate came in. It was over double what another company quoted me and the figure as far as the weight of my furniture was so grossly off that it was really not even an estimate but more like a completely uneducated guess. I had just used United to move to the area and the weight of my entire house plus my office was 5,300 pounds as proved by the scales. Even though George was only moving about ¹⁄₃ of the furniture into my new place he estimated those 20 pieces weighed 6,600 pounds. Outrageously off! Bottom line is that I used another moving company (Charlie’s Wine Country Moving) and they were much more professional, much less expensive, REALLY NICE and they also got my armoire into my condo.
