Best park in Napa! Love the openness of the whole area, and the fact that it’s miles long, making it a great place for walks. There’s a bit of everything; Baseball fields, walking trail, Napa river, playground, picnic areas, open grass fields, duck pond, you name it. My boyfriend enjoys this park, as does my little Chihuahua. Taking walks here is super relaxing.

Kennedy Park is the current South Terminus for the planned Napa Valley Vine Trail. First portion is now open, and you can walk, jog, bike or hike the 12.5-miles from Kennedy Park in south Napa to Yountville. Eventually when completed the Vine Trail will span 47-miles(!), connecting all the way from Vallejo to Calistoga!

This park is convenient for a Napa Valley College student to clear his or her mind off of things. You can simply park your car under the shade(if you’re lucky) and study inside your car or near the benches. I usually come here to walk along the hiking the trails and explore the park. Also, there’s fun for all! Your young ones can play on the playground or play catch if you have a ball. There’s also enough room to play kickball or soccer as long as you have the materials. On the other hand, there’s an area to launch off your boat if you spend time on the water. Sometimes on a windy day I see people bringing their kites. One tip you should keep in mind is bringing hand sanitizer. I couldn’t really find an area to wash my hands with soap.

My daughter loves this park. We can go play at the playground & take a stroll next to the river. Lots of shady places to have a picnic.

Fun for all! Walk, bike, bbq, launch a boat, play ball… read a book under a tree. Located conveniently behind the Napa College by the golf course, this is a very large park with a variety of things to do. As you drive in you will notice there is a pond on your right hand side where you can feed ducks, geese and other different birds.(watch out for the seagulls, they are brave birds). The geese will take bread from your hands. I’m a bit of an animal whisperer and they have been polite with me so far. The park also has a great walking trail and the loops are marked for distance. There are some softball fields, a playground, a BMX area(u have to sign up to use it through parks and rec I believe) and a radio-controlled model aircraft area.(so cool) There are a lot of open spaces where people set up soccer goals and kick it around a bit. The BBQ areas have picnic tables, bathrooms and water fountains. Some of these areas you need reservations for in order to claim them for the day. I have seen a lot of birthday parties and family reunions at these spots. Did I mention that this park is by the Napa river? That’s where the«launch a boat part comes in». I’m not sure about the boat launching rules, but it’s free. This makes it a great place for bird watching(I’ll post a pic I took yesterday). DOGFRIENDLYTOO! Most owners are super cool and pick up after them. Some need to work on it. I see people using the softball field with their dogs even though there is a sign that clearly says not to. I’m going to go ahead and assume they pick up any doo doo their doggy makes. =) No smoking signs are also present at the walking areas. That’s because we are there to enjoy the fresh air. Grab a friend, human or dog and go take a walk. Bring a camera if you are into birds.
