Monticello Deli and Catering

Great location. Could be so much more than what it is. A little bit of effort would help this place out muchly.

Food still good, I have not being here for a while but looks like most of the staff is newer not a compliment… walked in no hello no welcome no nice smile on faces.. 3 girls on the floor but really not happy you can get good food everywhere but good service not as much this used to be a good location for that maybe is me or only today but not so much no more sadly plain like dry toast blahhhhhh

Just ok. The menu signs on the wall are old and gross, there are cobwebs everywhere and a woman there (I assume the owner) was being rude and impatient toward the staff in front of all the customers. My sandwich was good though. I would go to Genova deli first choice.

Pretty tasty place. You wouldn’t expect it to be a café in a convenient store, but hey it works. Had the roasted chicken sandwich which was delicious. Definitely a good pick me up

I recently ate at Montecello Deli with my four children.
We all had sandwichs and their famous Mac and cheese.
As always the food was amazing! Fresh and filling.
They friendly and clean atmosphere makes this deli our favorite in Napa.
Also I have used them to cater many small events at my home and I am always thrilled with the service and food.
I highly recommend this place!

This deli gave my entire family and a local high school’s teachers food poisoning on Wednesday. I had to rush my 6 year old son to the ER Thursday due to uncontrollable vomiting. The owners knew about the problem and tried to say that all 16 people got the stomach flu. They refused to take any accountability. Looks like it time for a visit from the health inspector. Bottom line, do not eat at this deli.

I love this place. But it’s not for everyone.
If you are looking for chic atmosphere — it’s not for you.
If you are looking for exotic menu — it’s not for you.
If you are looking for «an experience» — it’s not for you.
BUT if you’re looking for a friendly place to get good food at very reasonable prices — THIS IS IT!
Monticello Deli is where the locals go to meet friends, have a fresh, deli meal, and enjoy the company. I know, I’m a local and I go regularly.

I love this deli! Everyone is super nice and they take call-​ahead orders. I recommend calling ahead of time for lunch because they are always super busy then. Prices are great for sandwiches. They pack on the meat unlike places like Subway, so you get your money’s worth!

Pam and Cal are an excellent combination. CAL is the CHEF and PAM is EVERYTHING ELSE. I reviewed earlier and said I could only give them four stars because I didn’t know if they were able to suggest a service for China, silver, etc. Pam called me in her usual follow up call and also, responded to a letter I sent her. She DOES have a very reasonable company that she refers. When time allows I’m going to write up a CHECK LIST of the things I had to do. Maybe she will be able to copy it and put ibe hints on their letterhead.
The most import thing to say is They are a FANTASTIC company to work with. Their FOOD IS, EXCELLENT (the chicken was smoked and SO tender, everyone commented on HOW GOOD it was) and their SERVICE IS FRIENDLY and THE BEST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH A CATERER.
Thanks for being such a great experience at a troubled time like my Mother’s funeral. Paul Funston

If you’re going to use big words Patric, maybe you should just pick out the defination that best describes your feelings. There were MANY more definitions, at least half could be used in a COMPLIMENTARY manner. So WHY DID YOU RATE THREE STARS… REALLY???

Kudos to Monticello Deli and Catering! They were hired to serve lunch for my husband’s Memorial in Napa recently and did a superb job. The lunch was delicious! Pam, our hostess was a delight from the very first contact with her on the telephone to the final moment in the reception room. She is so well organized, provided a lovely presentation of the food, made sure all were well fed and at the end, helped us divide the left over sandwiches and salads and handled all the clean up quickly and efficiently. Pam is truly charming and at a time when all are distracted by grief, her special touches made us feel at home and she was like part of the family. Monticello Deli and Catering is so fortunate to have such a competent, congenial, and attentive member of the staff. I recommend Monticello Deli and Catering highly and know that Pam will provide not only specialized menus for the customer but top quality food and service as well.

This place was awesome.
After the del dotto winery, we went to this deli. Had a soda dispenser, and we took the sandwiches to the last winery we had lunch at. Will come back in the near feature.

I would like to get what I ordered. Got a to go sandwich and they missed the extra toppings I asked for, but got charged for…

Not a bad place to stop in the middle of wine tasting. Non pertinacious and has the makings for an impromptu picnic.

Very cute little deli! Best sandwiches in the area and amazing customer service. Real locals’ spot! Great salads for those wanting to eat healthy.

This deli is the best on the North Coast. I typically order the Chris’s Club (Fresh turkey slices, pepper jack cheese, bacon and avocado on a roll). I usually have them serve it hot and toasted. It is incredibly delicious! The crab salad sandwich is wonderful as well! I haven’t strayed much away from the two mentioned sandwiches but they do have very tasty looking dishes available as well.
The staff is friendly and attentive and there is mostly a table always available to enjoy the wonderfully delicious food! If looking for a great deli, you certainly have found one here!

This is a rather uninteresting roadside deli, but service is friendly and sandwiches are good! Sandwiches are big and thick, and the turkey reminds you of Thanksgiving! It is a great place to grab a bite between visiting tasting rooms and wineries… wine tasting can make one really hungry! The staff was really friendly and our sandwiches were ready quickly. You order at the counter, but they don’t make you pay until you are about to leave. The sitting/​dining area is a bit cluttered, as there are items for sale spread around, but otherwise, a great little deli.

I had the roasted chicken sandwich, SUPERB. Definitely coming here again to try different sandwiches. The service was friendly and quick.

I was in napa to visit some friends. I went here for the first time. Apparently, it’s been open for 15 years– I’ve been gone for 12.
I ordered the famous chicken and added BBQ sauce. I had it on Dutch crunch bread which, honest to god, was the softest Dutch crunch I’ve ever had– but still sweet with a little crunch to it. It was perfect.
The sandwich was delicious. Basically, you order your sandwich, grab a bag of chips and soda from the convenience store area, sit down and eat… And pay afterwards– I like that set up.

Being from the east coast originally, I fancy myself a connoisseur of «meat salads» such as tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, seafood salad. I am always looking for the «Goldilocks» version which is «just right».
I find that if the starting protein is not well flavored, most laces just cover it all up with way too much mayonnaise so that white soupy look is always a dead giveaway that they are trying to hide something.
That is definitely NOT the case here. You can just tell by looking at them they will all be perfect. I had to try a little of each. Great seasoning, full flavor, just the right amount of mayo to hold it together. Now I have a problem! Which is my favorite, or how will I ever decide which one to order? Well, it is not such a problem because I will just keep getting a ½ pint of each.
As for other choices for the non-​east coast natives, that sandwiches are fresh and delicious. The green salads are huge and fresh as well. The staff is super friendly, the prices are great and the service is excellent. Add to that the nice selection of wine and you have a perfect 10! I am so glad I’m a local and get to come here often, maybe even every day for lunch!

Is it possible to give this spot infinite amount of stars? Let me give some context to how the heck I even ended up finding this place. Well first of all, I wasn’t in Napa for the wine tours, but actually to pick-​up a custom made, old school, beach cruiser from someone that I bought it from online. who happened to be all the way in Napa. Anyways, after trying to find our way back to the freeway to go back to SJ, we went the completely wrong way.
Everyone in the car was starting to get hungry and wanted to take a bottle of Napa wine back to SJ. Luckily, as we were getting even more lost, this deli with wine signs caught my eye. I immediately pulled over and we decided this was the spot that will fulfill our wine and munchie needs. Needless to say, we were more than content with our choice. As we walked in we were kindly greeted by a young girl. We immediately hit the wine area and then mobbed it to the deli counter. After picking our wine and beer choices, we all ordered sandwiches. Of course the locale’s special immediately caught my eye so I had to go with that and a side of red skin potato salad. As I was waiting for my ABC sandwich, I asked the girl if it was cool to pop bottles and start drinking in the store… again hella awesome she gave us the green flag to go for it even though we didn’t even pay for our alcohol yet. She even said if we wanted to go walk around outside, we can take our drinks with us. As our sandwiches were getting done, the older dude (I’m guessing the owner) came out to greet us. He was super friendly and let us stay even after closing to enjoy our sandwiches. My Avocado, Bacon, Chicken and pepper jack cheese sandwich was soooo gooood that I inhaled it with the quickness alongside with the potato salad. Overall, great small business that values real customer service and can dish out hella good food. If I’m ever in Napa again this spot is definitely going to be a necessary stop in the trip.
