Made reservations for Valentines day brunch for 11:00. When we arrived at 10:45, they were still setting up the dining area/patio. We were intercepted by the employee that was setting up. No greeting, just a dirty look and he rudely told us «We’re not open yet.» I mentioned that we had an 11:00 reservation. His curt response, «It’s not 11:00 yet, is it.?» We promptly left and walked four blocks down to another establishment where we had amazing food, drinks, and incredible service… spending over $ 120. Enough said.

Wow. Second time here. A bartender named Bianca was perfect. Her friendliness made my day. Drinks and customer service, perfect. What a delight. I will be back.

I love the corn bread probably the best corn bread I have ever had and it’s great that it’s free if you check in on Unilocal. It’s very clean and fancy and I got a burger off of the lunch menu and it was great. Will come back.

We ordered lunch for the office today and what we opened was less than satisfying. All 6 salads were quite undersized for the price, with the Ahi salads being the smallest. They all looked more like side salads than lunch portions. The 7th item on the order, a burger, was completely missing, but it appears we weren’t charged for that. While what we did get of the salads tasted good, the airline portions left as all hungry for lunch again.

Came here with my besties for my birthday weekend celebration, for brunch. Easily the BEST server I’ve ever had. Vukasin was amazing. We all ordered the bottomless drinks(two mimosas and a Bellini) and didn’t have high expectations of them actually being refilled much. But Vukasin always made sure our drinks were full. It was perfect! The food was also really good. We started with the shrimp and grits and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Only complaint is I wish there was a lot more of it. I got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, my weakness and these did not disappoint! Great flavor, perfectly cooked egg. And the potatoes! I’m usually not a fan of breakfast potatoes, I prefer hash browns, but these won me over. They had great flavor and were nice and crispy. The besties both had the spinach and mushroom omelette and liked it a lot and also raved over the potatoes. Loved the interior with all the old pictures of Napa. All in all, a great experience. Will definitely be back!

Fabulous folk all around! The owner, service staff, chef — we got to enjoy experiencing and meeting all of them! I was impressed! Ambiance — fun little corner restaurant in Napa, right across from the water. Bar was filled with festive patrons enjoying each other and enjoying the Warriors game. Décor was Modern Nostalgia with photos of historical Napa along the bar ceiling and walls. I thought that touch was lovely! I tried a couple different cocktails and wow, they were not skimpy on the pour! Food — I was fortunate to taste a wide variety of offering and was impressed with everything! A couple standouts: Beef meatballs — tender and simply sauced Queso Fundido — cheese and chips done right! Couldn’t stop scooping! The shrimp scampi pasta was fabulous but my favorite of the night was… chicken. Seriously?! Citrus Habanero Chicken! It was so good. Great, fun spot for dining, drinking or watching the game! PS What’s the story behind their name?

I just met a good friend here last night for a Unilocal Event. I live an hour away, so I was very stressed from all of the commute traffic. I was greeted warmly by the staff and Kevin. I had to ask a special favor as my phone had died and I need to let my local friend know that I had finally arrived. Everyone was so helpful and kind, a charger was provided, and I could settle in and enjoy a cocktail. The drink I choose was the Pama Margarita, oh my gosh, it was so good! It was different from a regular margarita, with a pretty pink color and such a perfect balance of sweet and tart. I enjoyed the seasoned salt on the rim as well. My fav appetizer was the delicious fried calamari with an amazing dipping sauce. it is the very best fried calamari I’ve ever had. I felt the comfortable atmosphere was conducive to relaxing and getting to know new friends or catching up with old. So, yes I recommend trying Napkins if you have not tried it yet.

If you’re in town, looking for a meal and a place to catch a game on TV, then STOPNOW cause this is the place to consider! Last night was my first trip to this Bar and Grill and our group had a fun time. Napkins is a lively bar and grill that offers a full bar menu with bottle service, sporting events on their big screen, a lunch and dinner menu and is centrally located in downtown Napa. It is very easy to find on the corner of 2nd and Main with free street and lot parking right across from its front doors. A very energetic place, with what seemed like a lot of young local business professionals coming in to grab a lite bite or a drink at the bar with friends. I like that the restaurant is narrow with the bar on the left and all diner seating on the right. It allows for you to watch the games at a table with friends with conversation but not sit in the bar. There is a row of windows all along the dining area and people watching as well as outside seating is available! The other thing I liked about the place was its bar décor. They have the coolest old photos of Napa in the 1800’s that outline the bar area(see pictures). Napkins is a second restaurant of a local business owner(Tara Grill — Mediterranean food) and has a very similar vibe. It is a small — non fussy — offers straight forward food — with affordable prices — the kinda place that has a loyal following. And I will add, the food is ABOVE average grill food! The Chef onsite has had the opportunity to be trained in some of Napa’s best kitchens and his standards are there. If I had to give it a category I would say its not so much California Cuisine as it is comfort food. Our group sampled a few apps and entrées. We shared the habanero Chicken Wings that came with an avocado cream, perfectly cooked deep fried calamari with a nice spicy aioli, a salmon tostada that was fresh and tasty and their meatball and shiitake mushroom dish. Out of all the apps the meatballs were the only item that our table was mixed on. Everyone loved the rest and not a plate had food left. All the food was prompt, cooked well and tasted good. The entrées we sampled were the Habanero Chicken served with mashed potatoes(super fluffy and buttery!) and mixed vegetables and the spicy shrimp and fettuccine pasta dish. Both were good and I would for sure order again. We looked over the wine list which seemed to be in line with what is offered in the area but ended up going with some mixed bourbon drinks the bartender had on special. And boy were they tasty!!! If you’re looking for a decent meal, happen to be in the downtown area, give this place a try!

Ate here last night. The variety of food we had was really really good and everything was super tasty. My friend was gluten free so they made special arrangements to make sure he had something to eat. The staff was very nice and accommodating. It’s not your typical downtown Napa restaurant. It has a different décor and experience than you would normally expect. I loved the exterior but the interior was set up a little funky. The interior colors were a little weird too. I think they could make the space a bit more functional. Other than that the meals were great, service was good, and had a nice time.

Excellent cocktails. Tasty and satisfying small plates food. Prices are a good value. Décor is modern, chic but yet has lots of historical Napa photos for your bemusement. Sports fans get a big projection screen to watch. Recommended!

Came here do a Unilocal event and was pleasantly surprised. We have friends who have been here and gave us the thumbs up for trying it out. What I ended up liking was the range of food served and the amazing flavors. We started with BBQ chicken wings(served with a guacamole spread), a tasty cheese and chip dish, salmon tostadas, and wonderfully tasty meatballs. The main dish came out as a surprise delight, amazing mashed potatoes, a perfectly grilled chicken breast, and tasty veggies. All in all, an amazing night full of wonderfully delicious foods. Mind you this was for a party of about 50 people, an the food was still banging out of this park good. I’d put my Napa hat on, bring your best«just come from touring the winery dahhhlinnngg» clothes, and enjoy the delight that is Napkins.

Fantastic staff and owner, management. They really know how to provide exceptional hospitality and delicious drinks and a wide range of yummy food. Our server Becky, did a superb job handling our tables and had a friendly smile and great attitude during a very busy time. We were lucky to attend an event here and I would totally recommend this place for a fun night out(great full bar: beautiful too) date night and as a venue for a group event.

All in all a good quality experience. Wonderful staff. The style is American food and it is done well. Buffalo wings have a nice citrus & habanero flavor, but not too spicy. I confess I was surprised at how well they can host a large group function. There is also a small room with just four tables(though it seems much larger with a mirrored wall) that would be great for a smaller private function.

The food was wonderful. I don’t mind eating here again. We took my cousin here with a bunch of our other cousins for her birthday since we knew there would be dancing. My husband and I ordered the wings and the grits and shrimp. They were prepared and served well. The flavoring was really good as well. My only critic would be, the server offered us cornbread only to realize when paying that it was not complimentary. We assumed since no one ordered it and she placed it on our table that it was comped. The corn bread was delicious, but we’d like to know ahead of time before we are charged with something. Overall, it was a great experience and the music was great as well!

Had lunch at Napkins yesterday with my 5 year old. We tried the chips/guac and corn bread for appetizers. Next was a kids pepperoni pizza on pita crust and a beef brisket sandwich which just melts in your mouth. Kudos to Chef. Our server was Becky and she had excellent recommendations for my little picky eater. Great service. I also noticed the teamwork with the staff, one other waitress noticed my daughter needed something and without hesitation got it for her. You don’t find that quality of staff in most places anymore.

Our first visit to Napkins and we are very impressed with the food as well as the awesome service. Our waitresses name was Becky. She was very attentive and knowledgable when it came to specials and such. Our second visit to your restaurant and it didn’t disappoint us at all. The Fish Tostada with Salmon and Black Beans was to die for! Again our server was Becky and she had us covered from the moment we stepped in the door. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The Hotel I was staying for my stay in Napa, suggested Napkins and give me a free appetizer. Which, that was cool! I got to the restaurant and they were busy, I was fortunate that I reserve a table in advance, so please do the same if you plan on eating here. I got the brisket sandwich, which came with salad on the side. The sandwich was great, the best part for me was the bun because other places tend to over cook the bun which makes it crunchy and falls apart. I also got to watch the Chefs do their magic in the Kitchen and talk about having a system in place.(They made it look so easy.) Great Job! Lastly great and friendly customer service!

Me and hubby often come to Napa to getaway from the city life. So we checked in at our favorite Wine valley lodge and the sweet lady at the front desk referred us to Napkins so we decided to check this place out. Parking wise, we are very happy because there’s a huge building of public parking available. We came in 10 mins prior our reservation time but they still seated us pretty fast. We first got seated at the booth but then we got approached with an apology asking if it would be okay for us to be seated in another table. We didn’t mind because we like the seating in front of the kitchen anyways because we love watching the chefs cook. The manager was so nice because he even offered us free dessert for the inconvenience.(We really didn’t mind anyways) We ordered the chicken wings, I love everything about it but my husband wasn’t a fan of the cilantro sour cream. Then we split the brisket sandwich(love the crispy onions with it!) And we had the raspberry crème brûlée(it was aiight, the raspberry was overpowering the crème brûlée) Great food, awesome not intimidating ambiance, very friendly service. what else can we ask for? Oh! Before we left they told us about the place turning into a party scene after 10 pm :)

Food itself was not bad but so many things went wrong during our meal. For one, it took forever to have our order taken, and it took over an hour for all dishes to come out. We’ll, almost all of them. They forgot our dessert, the Unilocal check-in for free guacamole/free cornbread, and billed us for it, too. Smh. That being said, this is what we got: Ahi tuna salad($ 16): pretty plain ahi salad with just lettuce, corn, and a very small amount of ahi tuna. Clams and mussels in red curry sauce($ 16): good flavor and fresh seafood. It wasn’t rubbery(whew) and while we like white wine garlic sauce better, this was good as well. However, it didn’t come with any bread to dip in the sauce, or a plate to put empty shells on. Rib eye steak($ 35): overcooked by just a tiny bit on the outside, but still pretty good overall. Good seasoning and juicy on the inside. It came with some sautéed veggies and mashed yam instead of mashed potatoes. Interesting but a tad sweet. The 3-course special of the day with choice of soup or salad, fried buttermilk chicken, and cookie topped with ice cream($ 29): it took 40 minutes for this to come out. The chicken was so delicious but to our disgust after wolfing a lot of it down, it was BLOODY on the inside. Ugh! We told one of the waitresses and she quickly took the chicken back to the kitchen and never returned. I had to find her myself 20 minutes later and at that time, the manager told me that yes that’s normal. Wth? Since when can you eat bloody fried chicken in America? We also had to ask for our dessert twice, but it never came. Yet it was billed twice on our receipt! The manager gave us a coupon to get 50% off our entire bill if we came in again for lunch the next day. But who would want to go back? I threw it away on our way out.

Four of us had dinner at Napkins after a day of wine tasting. No reservation was needed. We used our Unilocal check-in offer for the guacamole. Would have ordered the sweet cornbread, but the waiter warned us that there really would not have been enough for the four of us. We ordered two brisket sandwiches, the lamb sliders, the Napkins’ Wings and one order of sea salt fries since nothing came with fries. The brisket was a hit. The sliders and wings were OK, on par with good bar food. The ladies finished their meals with a fruit parfait. Prices seemed a little on the high side, but I’ll give them benefit of the doubt that it is the rent for the location. Vukasin provided great service during the meal.
