My girlfriend and I had a fantastic experience at Silenus, as this winery was the highlight of our Napa Valley trip! Their tasting room is tasteful and comfy, and our experience with Flavio was a blast. With out 2 for 1 tasting coupon, and he walked us through 6 wines, with a few extra thrown in as well. :) He was very warm and fun to chat with throughout. We were doing Napa on a budget and this place was the best deal by far! If you buy 2 wines, they waive the tasting fee, so we chose a tasty Sauvignon Blanc($ 22) and crispy, not overly sweet Rose($ 18). This combined with our previous coupon was awesome! Afterwards we enjoyed our Sauvignon on their patio with some baguette, brie and salami that we brought. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend Silenus!

Sorry. I want to give you guys more stars but was just really unimpressed with all of your wines. Service was great so no knock there but the wines were not good which is interesting because this place has different wine makers making wine here. They rent the space if they cannot afford the gajillion dollars it takes to open their own winery. Oddly enough all the wines tasted similar ending w/somewhat of a bitter note. maybe its because they are not seasoned wine makers? idk. I didn’t taste them all but my group did and had a similar consensus. I would skip because there are so many options in Napa and FAR better wine. Sry.

My in laws, husband and I all LOVED our tasting here! Even though this place is by reservation it was incredibly easy calling in and making a reservation same day. We were also lucky enough to get Scott as our attendant. Over 1 hour we were served 6 *very* generous tasting pours accompanied by hilarious repertoire. The discussion ranged from a vintage bottle’s association with orgies to the origins of pinot gris coming straight from a unicorn. Very personable without any of that infamous Napa pretention. Just a wide selection of wines, good conversation, and great hospitality. Also, with the b1g1, the tasting is very affordable at $ 15 for two, and allows you to try a good variety of tasty wines available for purchase. As a collection of 11 wineries, the far wall was fully loaded with different wines on display for purchase. Would definitely come back to taste and buy more!

Hanna was fabulous and very friendly. A real pleasure to converse with. The wines were good and represent a number of good wine makers. Very nice stop.

Love love love this place. My husband and I became wine club members on our first trip. We had Jenny as our wine expert. She was very professional and knowledgeable and sat down with us to explain the wines. Her, the service and the wines is what made us sign up for the wine club membership. We also love how this place hosts different winemakers and you really get to taste so many different styles of winemaking. We just came here for the third time and got exceptional service again from Flávio. He was very personable, gave us great wine tips and made our visit extra special. Will definitely keep coming back!

Amazing set of wines and excellent service. First time in Napa and I am blown away with the caliber of selections they have. Reasonably priced and I very much appreciate the one on one service we received in comparison to all the other places. They are very knowledgeable of everything that is wine. Wine places, pairings and history. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is just starting with wine. Ask for Hannah specifically. She is excellent. She will give you a dry run and comparison in all wine they can offer. I see her as an expert and very approachable in how she tells her story with wine.

I visited Napa for the first time and I searched for many wineries that offered several tastings at affordable prices. During my search, I found many wineries that offered 3 – 5 tastings at $ 30+ per person but when I found Silenus Vintners, they offered an unbelievable 6 out of 12 tastings for $ 15 per person. It was definitely an amazing deal. The winery stands on a beautiful property that resembled a resort rather than a winery in the backyard of a Napa mansion. As soon as I entered, our host Scott welcomed my party and I inside — a lavish lobby full of comfortable, colorful furniture and decorated with pleasing art and ornaments that made you feel like you were in a relaxing environment. We made a reservation in the morning(we had a 3:00 pm appointment), and by the time we arrived, Scott had already assembled our table with our tastings menu in place. As a first time wine drinker, I sat without a trace of wine knowledge and in the hour I was there, Scott had told me enough that I feel like I can hold my own conversation against any connoisseur. When I say that Scott was a fantastic host and server, I mean it. The quality of the service and taste of the wines has set the bar high of any future wineries I shall travel to. I ended up leaving with six tastings of delicious wine, from sweet whites to dark reds, and I even bought two bottles. I will definitely return and bring more guests with me.

Silenus Vintners would get five stars just for their innovative, terroir-driven, absolutely delicious wines. Add their beautiful tasting room and gardens, plus the warm and knowledgeable service from Hannah, Bradley, and Scott… well, Unilocal really needs to have six-star ratings.

This place is fantastic! Great experience, very engaging and knowledgeable server who spent a lot of time with us. And so many wines to taste for only $ 15! In Napa! One of my favorite wine tasting experiences.

The wine itself I’d give 4 stars but the experience was 5 stars. The winery is on a beautiful property. There is a bocci ball course. Service was top notch. He knew so much and was very interesting. I would return.

Super nice people, loved the small feel to the place and wine, coming from wine country myself, this winery has high quality in small quantity which was the best we had in our visit to Napa. Highly recommended !!! Hanna our host was knowledgeable and sweat, made our stay enjoyable and fun.

Really could not say enough great things about this tasting room. It was actually my favorite one of the 4 we tried. It’s small and REQUIRES A RESERVATION! Scott was our tasting room attendant. We arrived a few minutes early so we sat around the fire in large comfy chairs in the corner until our table was set up outside. It was a beautiful 70 degree day. They had large umbrellas and tables on the patio. Below us people were eating lunch and playing botchi ball. The deal is 15 dollars for 6 tastings. But Scott had an extra opened bottle so he threw in a few bonus ones. Loved it. Will come again!

Went here with the wife for wine tasting. It’s a nice, small little tasting room that serves small wineries. The menu changes weekly or monthly, I forget. It’s $ 15 for 6 wines. The server was very knowledgable and he even let us try some other ones too! Note that you have to make reservations. You can just walk in, like we did, but then he’ll make a reservation for you on the spot. Nice little place with some great wines. I will return.

A veritable gem in Napa that houses both commingled production facilities and a joint tasting room for smaller or family winemakers who don’t yet have the scale for their own vertically integrated operations. Many of the winemakers hosted here are quite high quality, particularly Steve and Jill Matthiasson, who make some of the most inventive white wines anywhere. Steve, or I imagine any of the other winemakers, is available for tasting sessions and tours here, and if you can score an appointment, you might be able to taste yet-to-be-released wines, right out of the barrels. Very educational and very personal. Great for novices and experts alike.

Amazing, amazing wine tasting experience. Silenus, the tutor of Dionysus; their trademark: the Greek thursis on the bottle label. They rent out their facility for small producers to bottle their own wine here, which is a great biz idea. 2 for 1 given to us, and took advantage, hoping they would accommodate without a rez for their vintner flight. $ 15/pp, not credited toward wine purchase, as we did buy. Heady tasting room. Classy, spacious, staid and sophisticated touches everywhere. Our pourer: Jody… a fount of true enological wealth. So appreciated her extraordinary skills and understanding! She made our visit! Having been working for 30 yrs in the biz, a pure pleasure to listen to her instruct on wines and terroir, various takes and tweaks on reds and whites. Crisp and beautiful Rose from Silenus, which is a cooperative for other small boutique owners. We bought a bottle and fully enjoy it during these warm days. Its bouquet is full and very bursting sweet. Neat things tried: Poe wines. Grapes from Anderson Valley, boutique winemaker made a part Merlot and part Syrah blend. Very interesting. Would def come again. Bocce ball and grove below for enjoying the sunny outdoors.

Went back to Silenus over the weekend and it was just as enjoyable as before. This time, Scott was our fabulous«tour guide» through their current offerings. Highlights included: + Cielo Woodstock«Deep Purple» — always a crowd pleaser + Silenus Cabernet Sauvignon(and I’m not a Cab lover) + Ideology«Blondie Gone Wild» Chardonnay + Cielo Woodstock«Honey Pie» + Ideology«Proprietary Blend» Just to name a few! We got to talking and ended up staying longer than expected. But of all the tasting rooms in Napa, this is my favorite. Could probably park a cot in the back room and stay for the weekend. But they’re not a B&B so eventually we had to move on. Not before I sent a bottle to Dad in IL, though. I’m sure he’ll enjoy!

I came here with reservations on a Sunday afternoon, with a party of 18. Many from our group were new to wine tasting, so the staff was sensitive to that while explaining each of the wines. The wines that we tried were ok. I am a fan of the 2009 Mario Bazan Sauvignon Blanc. The facility is inviting, clean and modern and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
