Nail salons in Napa bum me out. I’ve been going to Napa Nails pretty regularly for the last 5 months or so, all the while hoping that they really aren’t as good as it gets in Napa. Periodically I’ll get brave and try a new spot, only to be reminded yet again that Napa Nails really is as good as it gets. My Sunday trip to US Nails was one of those journeys. My sister made an appt for 3 of us to get pedicures at 2PM. Well, we get there and there are only 2 technicians — one of whom is busy giving someone a manicure. Strike 1. The 3 of us are seated in the empty salon, my mom and my sister are treated to full pools of hot water with the Jacuzzi bubbles going. I get no water for 30 minutes, at which time I’m given a pool full of cold water no jets, and an admonishment for not wanting to stick my feet in cold water. Strike 2. All of our services were rushed and perfunctory, no surprise since they didn’t have the man power to accommodate the appointment they willingly booked. Strike 3. The woman was so eager to get us out of there that she jammed my flip flops on literally 30 seconds after she finished her last stroke of polish, promptly destroying the big toe on my left foot. Did she repaint? No, first she gave me a nasty look that clearly said that her f up was my fault and then she dabbed at the paint to smooth it out leaving a nasty mottled toenail in her wake. Strike 4. $ 22 bucks per pedicure? Strike 5. Ugh.

Service was unsatisfactory. They asked me 3 times if I really did want gel as to convince me that I didnt really need it. She was in a bad mood. When asked to fix something spoke in another language. It felt as if she was talking about me. The gel machine was filthy. Maybe Ive watched to many Tabatha Coffee but it was not up to standards. They were complascent and needed reminding of what needed to be done. They didnt pay attention to detail. I was there for a gel fill and pedi and quickly changed my mind and opted to finish up the gel fill. On top of that they want to charge extra for using the MC card. I have no problem doing that when the service is great. My experience here wasnot worth the extra buck. My fill was sloppy. The gel service is 5 dollars more than most gel fills, and it was dented and sloppy. My fill looked like a weeks later. Never going back.

I really liked this place! First and foremost the smell was not overpowering like most salons. It’s spacious so you dont feel cramped and the people working there were mellow and friendly. I felt very comfortable. I went in for a pedicure at the end of the day(literally just before they closed) on a friday and the lady working on my toes took her time with me from start to finish. It was a very relaxing experience. Looking at their shelves and racks they have a generous selection of nail colors. Im not one who get my nails done regularly but if I did this would be the place. I’m definitely coming back here next time I need pampering!

This place is terrible. The don’t even sanitize their tools between manicures/pedicures. Unless you enjoy having fungus/infections I advise going to a different salon.

I had to remove my nail polish an hour after getting it done. The job filing and cleaning up my cuticles was adequate, but the polish was put on too thickly and in a sloppy manner. Additionally, the person doing my nails was very rough — pulled my hands hard, etc. She also got up in the middle of the job to go put money in a meter because she was worried about getting a ticket. So, I sat there for maybe 5 or 10 minutes doing nothing, just waiting for her to come back. She did apologize, but it seems she should have done that before beginning the job. The fee was $ 12 and I gave her $ 15 as I didn’t have any change, and she did not immediately offer me the change back. I just looked at her and put my hand out and she said, «Oh, do you want change?» I told her to give me back $ 1, which she did, but honestly, this was before she polished my nails and had I any idea how sloppy a job she was going to do, I would not have tipped her or tipped her less. An hour after polishing, three nails were already smeared horribly, and I sat under the heat lamp in the salon for quite awhile before leaving. I was visiting Napa, but if I lived there, I would never go back to this salon. I had to go find a place to buy nail polish remover before going to my dinner party that evening.
