Every time I come in here I have to watch the check out. At least 1 item wrings up the wrong price and one time there was a $ 19 difference. The cashier said it was $ 30 at register but there were 9 of them on the shelf listed at $ 9.99. The manager said the size was bigger of the item but the description on shelf tag said it was correct. They didn’t even offer a discount and when I asked if they were going to honor the tag price they said no so I left!

Ace Hardware in Naperville = the rich man’s Menards.
I visit this Ace for a few reasons:
1. My husband works here part-​time, and he’s much better eye-​candy than the young’uns at Menards.
2. I can take paint samples whenever I damn well please and however many I damn well please.
3. They cut glass to custom shapes and sizes, which is something Menards doesn’t do.
4. Other employees are also helpful.
I avoid this Ace for a few reasons:
1. Prices for ordinary items like paint are much higher than competitors, even with an employee discount.
2. The manager is young and on his high-​horse. I barely walk in the door and he’s breathing down my neck, asking if I need help. He’s kind of a jerk to his employees as well.
