We go here quite often. The food is delicious, healthy and fresh. We always enjoy everything we get here. Service can be a little slow when they are packed but it is not worth taking any stars away when the food is that good. Great place for a family meal!

Vietnamese food in downtown Naperville. Phở is the main reason to be there but don’t forget about the rest of the menu

Spring rolls were very good. Calamari appetizer perfect size for two to share. I was not hungry so this was a perfect stop. Spring rolls and calamari. The calamari was unusual as it was served with diced onions which added a great taste b Can’t wait to come back for the soup.

Really loved this charming restaurant, only, being a vegetarian, am a bit disappointed they don’t have much on their menu for us veggies. Also, service staff a bit inattentive, but very nice. Whatever I did have though was extremely good and fresh.

Everything was so good! Specially their soup! I just wish their servers will be more attentive. They«maybe» forget to refill our glass with water, but overall every food that we ordered was spot on!

We ordered Cha Gio(crispy egg roll) $ 5.50 and Bo Nuong Sot Dat Biet(grilled cubed filet mignon) $ 8.50. The filet bites were incredible with lots of unique flavor. Our server offered to bring five rather than the listed four of each item to accommodate our family. Friendly service in a casual setting just a block east of Washington.

As I personally predicted, I received no response from the owner of this restaurant after my last review. The owner is obviously apathetic to the majority of the reviews that highlight the absolute poor service of this restaurant. Their lack of action and minus zero star service implicitly and explicitly communicates a manipulative assumption of support from a small core group of people who come back for a type of cuisine they can’t get locally anywhere else – irrespective of how they’re treated. This is an awful restaurant.

I’ve been to phở restaurants across the country. I ALWAYS get phở Dac Biet. I can without a doubt say this is my favorite. The broth seems is extremely flavorful, filled with the spices you’d find in a homemade phở. As far as the portions go, this place is the most generous of any bowl I’ve had in regards to tripe, tendon, and beef. Wow, my search is complete for a great local Vietnamese place.

Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant I have evee been in the States. x) I loved it! sticky chicken wings were awesome(kindda reminded me of Korean fried chicken(kyochon)) crispy and sweet. Vietnamese sandwich was also on point, fresh and crispy! yumm. I had house specialty phở dac biet, and I especially loved the fact all meat parts seemed clean and did not smell bad– which is common issue with other restaurants’ phở with tendon and tripes. The smoothies with boba were great as well. I had strawberry smoothie and splited with my bf and they even splited into two separate cups. that was nice :) I was so happy after the meal. I am going to be back!

Green Basil is a clean restaurant because the floor is not sticky. Decorations were spot on. There were paintings of ancient Vietnam and many Asian sculptures and fake plants which set the mood for fine dining. The waitress was very kind. When I said«thank you», she said«You’re very welcome» in the most soothing voice ever. Ordered Com Suon Nuong which is a rice dish with grilled pork chops, lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes on the side with a price tag of $ 10.50. While it is not the most authentic I’ve tasted in Vietnamese restaurants in the Chicago suburbs, it was still enjoyable to eat. The portion was just enough for me. Unfortunately, there were no doggy bags to take home. When the check came, I was sad that there were no fortune cookies or guava candy offered. Only toothpicks at the front.

I’ve been here twice and the service is a hit or miss. The first time, we came when it was less busy and with a smaller party, and the service was spectacular. However, the second time I went, the restaurant was more crowded and I had a party of about twelve people, and the service was very spotty. We kept having to request for more of this or that, food came out slow, water was not filled, and even the waitress was a bit rude/standoffish towards us. Service aside, this place has really yummy Vietnamese curry and coffee(Café Su Da). Their phở is okay, I thought the broth could have been a bit hotter(in temperature). The décor is very Vietnamese oriented with little trinkets and sculptures relating to Vietnamese cultures. The place is a bit hard to find because it looks like a house and the entrance towards it was a one way street so you have to go further down and enter through the bank parking lot and loop around… This is a good option if you live in the west burbs and are craving Viet food and too lazy to drive to Argyle.

Everyone I work with R E A L L Y loves this place but I find it to just be OK. Historically speaking, I loooove rice bowl/boxes and was totally spoiled in NY when I had a hard time deciding which vietnamese /banh mi place I liked best. So I ‘spose my expectations are high. I’ve tried the rice bowl here a few times, hoping that maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen. Sadly, the predominant memories of my meals here are of very dry/overcooked pork, too-heavy-on-the-fish sauce vietnamese vinaigrette, and a shocking amount of bean sprouts. It’s also kind of pricey for what you get. However, their Vietnamese Iced Coffee is VERY delicious, and they have great service. Maybe I’ll try the sandwiches or phở and report back.

3.5 stars Came here the day after Halloween for a hangover cure since our go to closed down. We ordered the phở, Vietnamese ice coffee with condensed milk, and calamari. Calamari 4⁄5 stars. The calamari was a nice texture and lightly fried. The flavor was nice and not too greasy. For $ 12 it was a very skimpy portion which would prevent me from ordering this again. Phở: 3⁄5 the beef was tender and flavorful but the broth lacked the depth of flavor I’m looking for in a nice bowl of steaming phở. It was sweeter than normal and tasted as if it could stand to simmer another 5 hours. The flavor was lighter and left me wanting for more. The portion was okay but not worth $ 10. Iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk: 3⁄5 it lacked the complexity of flavor I look for in Vietnamese coffee but it was strong and sweet. It does the job but I wouldn’t order it again. Ambiance: 2.5÷5 stars. The décor is nice but I watched the hostess seat a family at a table that had an extremely dirty floor. The chairs are hard and uncomfortable and the layout is a little strange. Service 2⁄5 stars. Typical non attentive Vietnamese service but it came from nonvietnamese servers. The dirty dishes stayed on our table the entire duration of the meal. They forgot our ice coffee and didn’t check up on us at all. We had to flag then down for the check a box. For these prices, a little more attentiveness would be nice. Overall, I don’t think the ambiance justifies the exorbitant price since the service was extremely lacking. I’d only go here this place for when I’m desperate and not willing to drive to Argyle.

My very first time at this restaurant and eating Vietnamese food. The restaurant was sparsely decorated and clean… and very cold inside. Brrr! The staff was friendly, but a little slow. There is no alcohol here. It used to by a BYOB and we brought wine, but they don’t do that anymore as they didn’t know they needed a liquor license. Huh? The food was very good. I especially enjoyed the Goi Cuon, shrimp, pork & veges rolled in rice paper with a sauce. Yum! I heard the Vietnamese coffee was good so I gave it a try I ordered the hot coffee with condensed milk and loved the way it was served, but it was too strong for me and a very little serving as well. I would definitely go back to try some more of this food and explore the menu. I don’t think credit cards are accepted, if I remember correctly.

First I will say the chicken wings appetizers were amazing. I have never had them so big and so crispy and so flavorful. Saying that, that was the highlight of our lunch. We went with the Chicken wings and Spring rolls but apps, and Bahn-Mi and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio for entrée. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but it didn’t stand out. It tasted like other vietnamese food I had. If you live in the area then defintely check this place out. If you live far away, I don’t think it is worth the drive. Living in the Joliet/Shorwood area. I am fortuate enough to havre two restaurants in the area.

I’m half Vietnamese and this was super authentic, delicious, and great value! Im definitely recommend dining at this hidden gem. It’s a bit tucked away but so worth it. I got bun thit nuong cha goa.(vermacelli bowl) and the chicken wings for an appetizer. So good! Portions are good sized and good value. Service is good but a bit slow. They are nice though.

The phở here definitely doesn’t compare with the ones you’ll get in Little Saigon In California, but it does the trick. The soup here is light yet flavorful and the meat tender. The bowl is quite large, but for the price I still think it’s a little over priced. The portion of meat to noodle is definitely not right. There needs to be more meat for a $ 10 of noodle. The piece here is actually a little overpriced. If you get an appetizer and a bowl of phở; it will run you about $ 20. One of the main reason I come here is the Ban Xia. It’s a batter crêpe with bean sprouts, shrimp and pork fried in a pan until they’re super crispy. You eat it in a lettuce wrap and dip it in fish sauce. So fatty yet so good. I definitely would come here again to satisfy my craving since there’s no other choices in the burb to her phở’s like the one in California. Tip: close between 3 and 5.
