I have been going to Raku Sushi since they opened. The maki and sushi rolls are amazing. You have to try unagi and the tropical roll! The staff is super friendly and they even know me by name. I have even gotten a few of my friends(who never liked sushi before) to try it and they fell in love! Raku Sushi is a great place to go on a date or a night out with friends — from the relaxing atmosphere and price’s, you can’t go wrong!

This place is much nicer on the inside than it looks from the outside. The sushi was pretty good albeit pricey. The fish in the rolls was better quality than the nigiri. The nigiri fish had that frozen-then-thawed taste to them. It wasn’t terrible but definitely not the freshest or best sushi I’ve had. They also charged $ 1 for extra ginger. Not my favorite sushi place, especially for the steep prices, but it’s decent.

Five years ago I would give this place a five star rating. But not now. I used to go here when I went to college nearby and the sushi was excellent. The lunch specials were affordable for students and the sushi tasted great. Fast forward three years and I went to Raku and the sushi wasn’t as great, nor did the Salmon steak taste fresh. I Cringed. The fire dragon tasted stale. The only thing I enjoyed was the calamari tempura and miso soup. Thinking this was perhaps a bad day I went another time with couple friends and every person was kind of disappointed about their orders but wouldn’t say anything. We talked trash after leaving the restaurant. I mustered the courage to go a third time couple years later, as I was in the area, and couldn’t get the memorable college times outta mind. I am sad to say that Raku has gone downhill and I unfortunately won’t ever go back. The people are super friendly and the same waiters and waitress since my college days but the quality of the food has gone down. I wish they’d go back to being the way they did when they were new.

Best dim sum this side of China Town. And if you’re not familiar with dim sum, you’re in for a treat. Great service and friendly staff. I plan on being a regular.

Ughhhh. I was pretty impressed by the google reviews(4.7÷5) and had not yet tried them out yet so I was definitely anticipating much MUCH better. I decided to try an order of California Rolls for lunch. They were very small, but an order is 8 pieces for around 5 bucks cannot be beat, right? Well, the cucumber isnt skinned, the avacodo is browning and the crab and rice/seaweed are dried out and tastes like these were rolls from last night left over in the fridge/or just left out and not freshly rolled to order or even made freshly at all today. It leaves such a disgusting, invaded feeling in your mouth because you know it isn’t fresh and that makes you start thinking how old it could be and then what conditions it’s stored and prepared in and that quickly made me only more sour in the gut. Im disappointed as Tairyo also has been slacking on its freshness latley too. There goes two sushi restaurants fairly close to home. I will be going in later to get my $ 5 dollars back because they were that dreadful.

I went here last night with my boyfriend for the first time. We really enjoy sushi and were looking to try a new place around town as we had yet to find one we liked(we had gone to four or five different places trying to find«the one»). I would definitely say this place will be our go to from now on as the sushi was great and so was the service! The sushi came out quick even though the place was getting very busy, it was still very well made, and the fish was so fresh! Service was never lacking either even as they accommodated large groups. Sushi selection was fantastic and I have to agree that the Fire Dragon roll is amazing! Would highly recommend this place.

Came here for dinner at about 9. Place was pretty filled, lots of people. I ordered the tempura udon and some other small eats like the fried tofu. Also had some maki rolls, which were delicious. However, the udon was quite salty. It had me drinking the tea after every spoonful of soup. The tempura was very good. My only complaint is how salty the udon was.

Finally dim sum that’s really good, reasonable priced and close to home! Plus sushi too! The Customer service is by far the best! A friend of mine found this place a few months ago and my family and I tried it for the first time on Valentine’s Day and we loved it! Our waitress was so patient and sweet w our youngest son. It was clean, freshly prepared food, fast and friendly service. We will definitely be back again!

Recently moved to the sub, wanted to try out some asian place but… We only had sushi, let’s just say we are not coming back! The sushi isnt as fresh, probably due to not having enough customers getting sushi

We’ve gone to Raku a bunch of times over the past few years. The couple who run the place are very nice. The sushi rolls are very good. I would recommend Fire Dragon and Volcano. Overall, Chef Soon in Lisle has better sushi, but it is more expensive. I also tried Raku’s new dim sum. Interesting. One of my favorite parts about this place is the ambiance. It feels more quiet & cozy compared to RA Sushi or Shinto. Makes for a more comfortable dining experience.

Pretty good. This place was delicious. Took my brother in law and sister in law and really enjoyed it. Will have to come back here with my husband on date nights. The dim sum hargow was so good. The shrimp were huge! So glad we only live 5 minutes away.(:

First time here for a sushi dinner. Upon entering the overwhelming smell of the fish in their aquariums was a total turnoff. We almost left because of it, but peeked into the dining room and decided to give it a try as the tables were far enough away to avoid the smell. Also disconcerting was one poor large lion fish in a space of approximately 18″ wide by 30″ high in an aquarium. He could hardly move. So cruel! The dining room itself was not pretty nondescript, not very clean either. The sushi however was very good. Unfortunately, because of the condition of the restaurant as well as the smell when you first walk in, I will not be back for dinner. There are better places to enjoy a good sushi in the area. This restaurant could definitely use a remodel and cleaning of their fish tanks.

Lovely! Went here with my sister and 18th month old. One of those days where the little one is a little fussy. Servers were super nice and chatty with little one and very attentive to our table. Ordered the salted chicken congee. perfect for a sore throat and little one kept muttering yumm nguymmm yumm. Nuff said. Also ordered fire dragon roll, a spicy tuna roll, shrimp crepes and choy sum vege dish. Simply delish. So very glad I found this place. amazing dim sum without going to chinatown, comfort congee(nguymm yumm yumm) and spicy tuna rolls. Will be back, will recommend to people I know.

The best dim sum in Chicago is in the burbs. You heard right. We’ve had dim sum on the north side and in Chinatown and this folks beats them all. They serve it every day all day long. The dishes are all prepared when you order which is why it takes a little longer to get served. But well worth the wait. Nothing is made ahead of time and the dim sum is very very fresh. Also, the owner and his wife were super friendly and told us all about how they make their dim sum right in their kitchen. Them, their chef and their staff drive in from Chicago each day. And the price is really reasonable. My wife and I had 9 dishes and tea — totally stuffed. Bill came out to $ 38. Sorry downtown Chicago but we’re staying in the burbs for dim sum from now on.

Walking into this place brought back memories of late nights at Baker’s Square… Came here for dim sum and wasn’t disappointed. I like that they cook things to order rather than pushing a cart around. Everything we ordered came out just right, hot, and/or crispy. Definitely beats driving into Chicago for dimsum, especially with 2 littles. The staff were very helpful.

Been here twice and it’s still just as good as the first one for dimsum! The menu is similar to that of Chinatown, you order what you’d like and each plate ranges in price from small to extra large. The soup dumplings were good too! I’d have to say its the best dimsum that’s in the area. Will keep coming back here if we’re not in Chinatown :) *haven’t tried the sushi here, just the dimsum

I have been here twice now with my boyfriend. First time great food and good service second time even better also bonus points for taking car of your exotic fish and their tank. Delicious smoothies as well. Unlike most of Naperville I didn’t get a «snob» vibe.

We didn’t find out this awesome place till my friends said this place started to sell the dim sum all day long about a month ago. It turned out they not only have decent dim sum but also delicious Sushi. To top that off, I really enjoyed the services too. We visited this place twice in a week. My kids finished edamame, Xiao long Bao, and pan fried pork buns in no time before I could take a decent picture of those. Chicken congee, steamed chicken feet, and Cantonese shrimp crêpe were all delicious with the right flavor. Among the dim sum dishes, my personal favorite is the sesame balls which didn’t have the typical filling of red bean paste but with egg yolk. Very rich but super tasty with the crunchy sweet rice shell. I tried the spicy tuna, unagi, and salmon sashimi. All are fresh and flavorful. I liked the spicy tuna the best. Kids loved the unagi — grilled eel. We also tried the grilled fish jaw based on the photo from a fellow Unilocaler. It had a Very clean taste as it did not have any seasoning on the fish just the nice grill flavor. An unique dish to eat. The owner was there waiting the tables along with another nice lady. Both of them were great with my kids and accommodate us as much as they could. Really enjoyed the chat with them.
