Healthier Mexican food, sure. Tasty… not so much. I like the fact they had 8 or so salsas options, with a majority of them being labled«spicy.» However, who cares about variety when there’s no flavor to be found? Seriously… spicy? If your from Planet let’s just take all the seeds out to make a heatless dipping sauce of blandness, sure, you accomplished it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a big fan of them. Well, I take it back. One green salsa was decent and had a kick of lime and cilantro. But other than that, none of them added to my meal. Oh, side note before I talk about my burrito. Why is there a display of hot sauces when you can use them? I’d rather put the«display» hot sauces on my burrito than what was provided. Anyway, I had the yellow-fin burrito. The texture reminded me chicken and it wasn’t seasoned too well. Plus, my wrap unraveled while I ate it. And believe me, I’m a pro at eating burritos… just ask my friends. Overall, stick with Chipotle… heck, even Taco Bell or your favorite local Mexican joint.

OMG! This was the first and last visit to this place! Me and my husband got so sick!(trust you don’t want the details!) We wanted to try some place different and saw this place on freedom drive and thought let’s give it a chance. I had the shrimp chili tacos and my hubby had the beef enchiladas. To be honest place was clean but it was completely empty(first sign) food looked good but it was the blandest Mexican food I have ever had! No flavor! And the total bill with one reg drink and one large was $ 25 !! Totally not worth that ! We should have gone to chipotle !! Food is a 100x better and worth the $$. My advice DONOTEATHERE !!! UNLESSYOUWANTTOSPENDYOUR Nite on the pot!

Good steak fajitas and really good chicken fajitas. The chips taste homemade and are awesome.

I generally like this place. Reliable fare. An emphasis on fresh ingredients, multiple salsas from which to choose, and moderate portions. Today I had the chicken taco salad. Wow. What a disappointment. I’ve had better tasting airline food.

I tried the Steak Nachos today. Their steak is a very good quality for a fast food restaurant. I like their chips they are very light and crispy not dense. the Guacamole is very flavorful. I gave this dish 4 stars because a few of the chips were over browned(burnt). 20 seconds less in the oven and 5 stars.

Better than average Mexican fare. They are a tweener between a fast-food carry out and a traditional sit-down restaurant, but in a good way. They have fast service but better food. I alos like that you can sit down after you place your order and they bring you your food and you don’t have to bus your own table.

Pleasantly surprised. Had a grilled veggie salad, with a generous side of rice for.99. Not bad. Will def go back for lunch. Got a free side of chips and free refill salsa too!

Standard Mexican fast food fare here. A clean and ok place for a quick, cheap lunch. They had 4 «Economy Buster» lunch specials going for $ 5 — I had the cheese quesadillas, with tortilla chips, and beans and rice. Other $ 5 specials were tacos, burritos, and a tortilla soup special I think.

As is obvious from the storefront and the décor, this is less a Mexican restaurant than an American Mexican style restaurant. It isn’t competing with the corner independent; it’s competing with Chipotle, Panera and other similar«quick service» chains. A sign trumpets«More than 35 Meat-Free Options!» — most of them are seafood, but a vegetarian’s got at least one choice in most categories. You’ll get your meal on a real plate with real silverware(the waiter brought mine to my table but it wasn’t lunch rush). You don’t have to bus your dishes, either. I «made it healthy» but getting low-fat cheese, and fat-free refried beans on a whole wheat tortilla.(They were out of fat-free sour cream. And out of horchata. But they get points for having it on the menu, at least.) It’s 450 calories, 30% fat. That’s pretty good for something with cheese in it. I can’t compare apples to apples with Chipotle, but the closest equivalent is closer to 500 calories, 50% from fat. Food was pretty quick and fairly tasty. I got the grilled vegie quesadilla; vegetables weren’t over or undercooked and the guacamole was good. In addition to the 3 salsa bottles on your table, there’s a salsa bar; worth checking out. Lunch, no drink, no recession special, was less than $ 6.

I suppose I’m not being realistic about expectations, and I’m projecting my tastes on others, but there’s almost always going to be a better choice for Mexican food for people dining in this area. The place does go to some trouble to keep things«fresco» and healthy-ish, and and the food wasn’t really bad(e.g. much better than gas station burritos), but nothing I can conscientiously recommend as Mexican or Tex-Mex or Southwest or what-have-you. I’ll admit to eating here several times, which both means that I wasn’t terribly disappointed by my first visits, and that I’m not basing my review on a single, possibly non-representative experience. I’ve settled for food like like over most of my life, and I won’t be surprised if I end up here again in the future. That all said, I’ll go back to my original remark about better choices. This place is situated in an area where there are many other fast food Mexican places, many of which provide more authentic and tastier versions of the stuff they sell here. It’s possible that Taco Fresco food is in fact healthier, but looking at their nutritional info, your basic lunch will clock in around 500‑1000 calories, much from refined carbs, so I don’t think your doctor will ever send you here. The«real» taquerias won’t «make it healthy», but the food is generally less processed and much more pleasant to eat. So, if you like Taco Bell, you’ll probably be happy here and will be able to make«healthier» choices. But if you switched over to tacos ala Mexicana, or any food you see actual Mexicans eating, you’ll be left feeling like you wasted your caloric bandwidth. I’m trying to keep my food more«real» these days, and this isn’t doing it for me.

Friendly warm environment matches the attitudes of the employees. Food is pretty good! Lettuce seemed decent, beef was nice, tomatoes had flavor. i was impressed! They also have lunch specials– these are the deal! They state that they are only for the recession, so expect them for the next couple of years. Loved the re fried beans– no lard. oh– try and get here before the suited mafia comes in. The days I have been here, it has been apparent that unknown factor has caused multiple uptight suited BS men to decide it is «Mexican day» and that they cannnot eat alone. They must bring 5 of their buddies, being as this is the burbs, take multiple cars, and long lunches!

A tasty, vegetarian friendly(they don’t use lard in their refried beans), Mexican, quick order restaurant in Naperville. The restaurant was a bit gringo(imagine quesadilla with grilled vegetables)– but, nevertheless, worth the stop.
