Went to Green Monkey yoga three times during a week-long Naples vacation. I tried 3 different teachers and loved them all. The classes are vigorous and sweaty and FUN. I would go all the time if I lived there!

Ummmm yeah, Christina’s heated power vinyasa is easily one of the best classes I’ve ever attended — regardless of whether you’re only lightly interested in pursing a tree pose, are perhaps pondering trying side crow, or, lezbereal, are only into yoga for the bitchin spandex, let your booty do it in one of her classes. Got lucky in that the class was fairly small(15ish) — varying levels of practice, though power vinyasa moves quite quickly, so if you’re totally new to yoga it might be overwhelming(if that’s the case, start with a power vinyasa basics class, also offered) — make a res online and get there early to roll out your mat, as per report, the class before me had 40−50ppl — which, regardless of how zen you are abt touching your neighbor, can get a bit overwhelming as y’all begin to sweat from every pore in your body as you’re on your third balance/chair sequence in 85F+ heat. There were clearly studio regulars, though Christina made rounds to adjust everyone, offering a variety of levels of challenge for some of the more advanced poses and simultaneously acting as a drill-sergeant and loving mother-figure. I could not have been more down, even though she made me «om», which I strongly dislike. Aside from heated power vinyasa, the studio also offers«gentle yoga», hatha yoga, sunset beach yoga, therapeutic yoga, kids yoga, and family yoga, so really, you cannot go wrong. No dog yoga yet, which obs I would prefer, but maybe 2016 is that year. If I had to suggest anything the change, the check in process is a bit clunky/the girls manning the desk were a little less into namaste, a little more into being cold than I expected, but as I really only interacted with them for a few minutes, life could be worse. Studio is clean, rental mats nice enough. Cubbies to store your stuff in, though as they don’t lock, I’d probably leave your valuables in your trunk. Rent a mat for $ 2, drop in is $ 20/class and for first timers, they offer 4 classes for $ 69. Thereafter, you can hit a 5 pack for $ 90, 10 pack for $ 160 — unlimited 1mo is $ 175, 6mo membership is $ 140/month, or ball out for $ 1500 for the year, which seems like a total steal. Overall, hard yes. Good enough to make my transition to Naples being«home» a bit smoother.

I found this place welcoming and had a very great experience. I am from out of town I have been doing yoga for about 15 years. I have learned that every studio is different just like people. I left happy I had a great workout and I felt replenished after class was over. The ladies at the front desk were very kind and inviting for me being new I will definitely be back.

Pros: it is a clean and fairly well organized studio. Classes are a good workout. Cons: It is a good studio for a workout, but not really Yoga experience. Most teachers classes, although teaching Baptiste style yoga, aren’t well balanced and you can even get a small injury. Website isn’t very user friendly. The studio isn’t mapped for mats and everyone is all all over the place.

BV yoga is a great yoga studio with 2 rooms for classes(Yoga loft only has one). Very cute and peaceful décor in both the interior and exterior garden courtyard area. Be sure to get there early as classes do get very crowded. This studio has a great community and a really warm feel to it! So inviting for both advanced and beginners. Instructors are friendly and not afraid to help push students get into poses with their adjustments.(each person usually gets 1 – 2 per class) My only complaint and the reason that I am not currently a member is that they are so expensive! They never offer discounts on memberships, even in the summer. Trust me I have been looking for the past year! I would sign up in a heartbeat for $ 100/month but $ 140 with a 6 month commitment is just too expensive for the size of the studio and how full the classes get. Please offer promotions for full time Naples residents and spread the love!

As a traveler, it’s always fun to find a new yoga studio, even if you only get to drop in once. I gave Bala a try as I was passing through town and LOVEDIT. I was greeted by the friendliest people who were so excited that I could drop in and welcomed me to the studio with open arms. The studio itself is small, chic, simple, but has a fun variety of clothes and gear. No showers, but they probably aren’t necessary(two nice bathrooms to change in though). There are two studio spaces, and I took the power vinyassa class at noon. Although I typically don’t care for practices that allow people to come and go when they need/want to, the noon-time yoga practice was structured in such a way that it actually worked very nicely and did not interrupt others. I really enjoyed the class, the light in the studio, and the energy of the group. I hope to return one day very soon!

Amazing yoga with a profound impact! My family coordinated a surprise 40th Birthday weekend in Naples that included a visit to Bala Vinyasa. BV welcomed an entertaining group of 15 with mixed experience levels. They even sang happy birthday to me(twice)! We were fortunate to experience the teachings of Kiersten Mooney and her words left a profound impact on me and especially my «people». Our group has continued our practice every Sunday since or visit in June. That day was really the beginning for all of us. Thank you to the staff of BV — you saw beyond the request to have our group visit and created an impactful experience for us.

I just attended my first class at Bala Vinyasa today and felt compelled to write a review — I am visiting family in Naples(as I’m sure many of you Unilocalers are) and was looking for a yoga studio so I could attend some classes/take a break from babysitting my niece. I have practiced yoga for a few years now, never very regularly(I prefer to run), and I find that going to a new studio can be intimidating. I am by no means a «yogi» but I love attending yoga classes when I can, and enjoy finding new studios/classes/instructors that allow me to have a great workout that I am sure my body appreciates more than say, pounding on the treadmill for 45 minutes. I had a great experience at Bala Vinyasa today. Another reviewer commented that she had a negative experience with the receptionist and that the class did not start on time. The woman at the front desk could not have been more welcoming. And the class started and ended on time. I wanted to note that, as that review made me hesitant(I don’t do well with rudeness, especially in the morning and on vacation). I am used to practicing yoga in heated rooms(97 degrees plus) so I was expecting the class to not be as difficult since it’s only around 80 degrees. I was wrong. The class was very challenging, but in the best way possible. The instructor offered hands on adjustments(which I like), and encouraged us to challenge ourselves and«take a risk» during the class. But at the same time, I also felt comfortable doing any modifications I needed or taking a quick water break. I think that is absolutely a necessary combination for a great yoga class. She said something like«go ahead and try it, what’s the worst that could happen, you might fall, and that’s awesome.» And its true — I think some people(like me) are afraid to try new things in a room full of strangers for fear of failure, and that really shouldn’t be holding you back. ESPECIALLY when the instructors are knowledgeable about the poses and aren’t setting you up for injury. But at the same time, she emphasized that we should be mindful of our bodies and take modifications as needed — there is nothing worse than an instructor who yells at you for taking a modification or needing a water break, in my opinion. If you are looking for a challenging yet relaxing and fun yoga class, I definitely recommend the power vinyasa class. When evaluating a yoga studio, I look for first: a good workout, second: a place that relaxes me/allows me to de-stress, third: a place that I think helps me improve my yoga practice, and fourth: a studio that is clean and welcoming. Bala Vinyasa had all of those things.

I just got into yoga this year as a friend of mine just started teaching at BV Yoga and I said for YEARS how I would never get into yoga cause I didn’t feel like I got a good work out in the one time I did it. Well after attending a Power-Heated Vinyasa class, I was totally wrong! I got such a work out, it kicked my butt. I have now been attending for almost a year and I’m still addicted. The staff is great and the people there rock! You must try it out!

BV Yoga is amazing! A friend took me to a Bala Vinyasa Yoga class for the first time 5 years ago and it instantly turned me onto Yoga and living a more active and intentional life in general. Living in New York City, I sometimes find fitness/yoga classes in other areas to be less intense, but BV is the exact opposite. It is the most rigorous and enjoyable Yoga studio I’ve ever been to. I have enjoyed all of the teachers, and every woman who has taught me there is strong, beautiful and inspiring. They have tons of prop options, all very well kept, and the studio is bright, warm and welcoming. I will be returning to Naples for Christmas/NYE on Friday and can’t wait to go to BV every day!

This place was great. I dropped in for a power yoga class never having done one before but in the area for a few days on vacation. The staff were friendly and courteous. The class was only 1 hour long but it was intense. The instructor did a fair amount of walking around all class, correcting all of the students and giving an equal amount of personalized attention. Good rhythm and flow to the class, mat and towel rental for $ 2, typical prices, good location. Would definitely go back for a class again.
