This review is for the food, not pastries which I hear are wonderful(according to reviews). My friend and I came here one night off season and were the only people in the restaurant(that should’ve been a sign right there). Anyway, we didn’t find anyone rude like some of the other reviewers, in fact our waiter was very pleasant and I think might have been the owner. However, the food, oh the food. What can I say, both my friend and I have grown up with wonderful french food and were very very disappointed. I had an crêpe which was unlike any crêpe I’d ever had. It was a like a thick whole wheat pancake with some ham and cheese thrown in. It was watery from a tomato and some spinach sauteed in there and completely lacking in flavor. We had escargot for an appetizer which wasn’t bad, but not phenomenal either. I can’t even remember what my friend had, but I do remember she was sorely disappointed as well. If I ever come back it would be to purchase pastries, but I won’t waste my time or money on their food.

Gorgeous dessert display; excellent frog legs and escargot, but the ‘stereotypical French«attitude» of Astrid is enough to not return. Listed wines not available; last Sunday’s menu on board mid-week; menu outdated…“too busy to get them changed” and misinformed about Florida’s law permitting corked packaged wine to leave premises. Unfortunate for a potentially good neighborhood spot.

It’s not the fanciest place in Naples, but it is easily a 4 star eatery. Do away with the pretense of the fancy smancy & walk into this place.

We went with a large group of 10 ladies, and we were the ONLY people in the restaurant on a Friday night, not a good sign. I showed up 10 minutes late and sat down. I was never even given my own menu. I had to continually ask for the wines by the glass list, why they would not have these available on the table or in the menu I will never understand. So we are not off to a good start here, but its a fun girls night out so I am willing to just go with it. As with most restaurants in Naples they have a «summer special». The special was the choice of chicken curry or roasted salmon and an apple tart with a free bottle of wine. My first question is why would a French restaurants have chicken curry as one of their specials? Last time I checked chicken curry is a mediterannean dish, possibly a dish you could serve in an English Pub setting even but French, really? I don’t get the special because I see they have crepes on the menu(which I love). I order the baked Brie and as an appetizer and the crepes«complete» for my dinner, recommended by the not helpful and rude server. The appetizer round: My baked brie was very good, you would really have to make a major error to have a bad baked brie. A good friend had the beef carpaccio, which I shared, it was AWFUL no consistency to it just mushy meat on a plate covered in capers, gross. The goat cheese salad was 13 $ and tiny and everyone that ordered the onion soup seemed greatly dissapointed, same complaint over and over the onions were not cooked and the bread was very soggy, Obviously most dishes a MISS The dinner round: My crêpe was not even as good as the fast food crepemaker chain I have been to many times. It was a crêpe that looked pretty and seemed to have a lot of potential, but when I bit into it it was bland and none of the flavors were cohesive. It had mushrooms, spiniach, an runny egg, possibly some cheese which I barely tasted… it was just sub par, not awful just not great. Everyone else surrounding me was very unhappy with their dinner. Especially the girls who got the«special» the curry was over salted, came with breakfast potatoes and some weird sweet potato soufflé, which then they subbed out for green beans, overall just a mess. Noone seemed happy. Again, this is a girls night out, you have to really screw it up to have people complain, we are all just happy to see each other and have some wine and good food and conversation. It really got weird at the end of the night when they started mocking one of the ladies at the table, and then threw her money at her as she was leaving and the servers/owners told us «Collectively we were allowed back as a group, but this one girlfirend was not welcome back» VERYBIZZARRE and rude behavior. Please keep in mind we all were having a good time and the service was just awful the entire meal so we just talked amongst ourselves and overlooked it. At least until they followed us out of the restaurant and started insulting one of our friends. Overall: There are many amazing restaurants in Naples, this one thankfully, will likely not survive. As it shouldn’t. If you want business serve good food, if you want consistent customers have good service. The french restaurant scene here is not lacking with many local gems. Don’t waste your time and tastebuds at this dud.

I went to this place at beginning of May 2012 mainly due to the great reviews here. The restaurant is located in a incospicus plaza. However, it is easily spottable from the road due to the white drapes. We walked in and there was noone to greet us. We went in by the bakery side and there was noone there either. There were very few selections at the bakery. We stood a good 15 minutes and then just decided to find a place to sit ourselves. As we went outside the waiter came out and after a brief«hello» he just took off delivering his plates. So. We sat outside(it was morning) and decided to go with the crepes with strawberrys and banana and some juice. To our dismay there was no strawberrys and banana available. It was really dissapointing to find lack of ingredients. The crêpe came in and it was just ok. I wasn’t too fond of the homemade chocolate as it was on the sour side. Not what I had expected again. The waiter was polite and came in to check on us appropriately. I think the place has potential but it’s not yet where it needs to be. Owners take notes!!!

Wow! What a find! My wife & I happened to be in Naples and had a late lunch. She spotted«Paris Bistro» from the car. We are always on the lookout for croissants and circled back. The few tartes which were in the counter looked real good and the cheese selection also. No croissants in sight. We ordered a couple of fruit tartes and two quiches for a light supper. I asked about the croissants and the waiter said they have some in the oven if we could wait about 5 minutes. We bought 3 because he needed the others. It is fantastic. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and a little chewy, with the yeast pungent wafting in the air. A little less butter than Petrossian in New York, but more than enough. This beats my Gulf Coast favorite C’est ci Bön in Sarasota. The tartes were good, one the next day when we ate the quiches as well. The quiche lorraines and the leek were both excellent excellent. Warmed up in the oven(not microwave), the crust was still flaky. The filling was hot, soft and full of flavor. Taste of leeks and ham respectively. Ham tastes like French ham which we saw in the counter. If you like French bakeries, this is a destination for sure.

Aha! Nightlife is slowly taking its cosmopolitan place in sleepy Naples. Wonder no more about where to go after 8PM, This chic bistro is open til 10PM and until 2AM on the weekend. You will find white leather seating against background walls of red and purple, with very Euro-tasteful chandeliers overhead. The sommelier has cleverly used photo bosxes to allow diners to study a broad wine selection. The pullouts are handy and not the usual, unwieldy plank proffered at other restos. These folks are marathon restauranteurs, because they are open in the mornings as well. For a special occasion, I ordered a dozen croissants. I savored a coffee while the chef finished baking. My bakery box with warm, flakey, aromatic croissants made guests’ eyes go wide in appreciation.
