There is only so much fresh seafood one can eat during a 5 week stay on Ft Myers Beach. So when I went searching on Unilocal for Steakhouses for some MEAT, we were excited to find and try the Prime Rib at Pewter Mug. It is what they are known for… and what we have gone back numerous times for(I’m actually posting this review as we drive to Pewter Mug for our fourth visit this month!). Delicious, juicy, flavorful… served to order, even Medium Rare(for hubby) and closer to Rare(for me) AND offered in 4 different size«cuts» that are generous portions(no skimping on the ounces here!). Make sure you try the side of sauteed mushrooms and/or steamed spinach. Yum! Service has always been prompt and friendly. They even squeezed us in when we showed up on Father’s Day without a reservation, lol. Oh, and for those who have mentioned the décor, yes, it is a bit dated in décor and the building is older BUT to my pleasant surprise, it does not smell old or musty in any way. You know what I mean? We have found the Pewter Mug to always be clean, fresh, and welcoming… and most importantly filling and satisfying. What else do you need in a Steakhouse?!

One of the best steak houses in Naples. Huge salad bar with all the Ingredients you would want. They have cubed cheese, fresh home made bread, two soups and all you can eat. It comes with all entrees or you can order separately. Steak and meats are a cut Above the rest of the restaurants. Waiter was excellent. Old school inside. The only thing we did not like was the valet only, but it is a tight parking lot. Huge bar area too. Restaurant has been there for over 30 years straight and it is still excellent. I have been going there for over 30 years straight and never a bad meal.

The prime rib was among the best we have tasted. There’s a large fresh salad bar which you need to make sure you don’t overdo. Service was efficient. Pricing a little high but this is Naples so no surprise. If in the mood for excellent prime rib, this is the right place.

An old Cleveland favorite from my childhood, resurrected in the old Naples location. This is a fantastic happy hour go to. Cheap drinks in the bar with a really good happy hour menu for lighter dinner. They also serve full menu in the bar. This is one of the best salad bars ever and the soups are insanely good. Great prime rib and like the fish here too.

I walked in since it was close to the hotel, but it ended up being great! Great people, food, and service! The bar tenders were extra helpful!

Long and short — very delicious meal but extremely over priced. Salad bar was very fresh and extensive. The salad bar even had two soups. Italian wedding was probably the best I have ever eaten. The prime rib was yummy. Baked sweet potatoe was perfectly cooked. Creamed spinach was outstanding. The restaurant is very out dated. It needs a major facelift. We will go back for sure but not often due to price.

Being there 2 times within 2 weeks. First was really good, second time was kinds outlandish. Had a half BBQ baby back rib my wife a whole. Mine was tender to the bone my wife’s one tough like a shoe sole. Our waiter did exchange it instantly — now to a half rack. I was ready with mine long ago, the new one was served: tender as requested. But the shock came with the bill: $ 26 for a whole rack. $ 3 discount for me, having only a half. $ 5 discount for my wife having a half. And getting served a tough one and not being able to eat with me. No question, the ribs are delicious — when cooked excellent. But these haven’t. So even the explanation of the bill to me could calm me.

Hi, Hello… It’s me; I’m back again. Today I had to try the prime rib everyone raved about. Omg talk about melt in ur mouth! It was so good, I thought it was a filet! I got mines blackened ummm I couldn’t believe I ate all 10 oz and wanted more but my self control said u got to stop ur not hungry anymore. I ate at the bar and the service was very good. The crowd today was still mature but one thing I like about mature people is that their not scared to talk to strangers. If you have to catch a plane, carpool or über this is one stop you have to make when you come to Naples. I must say I’m a bit surprised as to why I don’t see more of a younger crowd at this wonderful restaurant. I had the filet and the salad bar. The salad bar is awesome and comes with every entrée. It has spring salad mix, spinach or just regular lettuce. You have a wide variety of vegetable toppings, cheeses and dressings; to top that off you have a choice of two delicious soups and assorted breads. The reason I decided today was only worth 4 stars is because my steak was not seasoned. The meat is awesome but a lil salt and pepper goes a long way without which I’m required to ask for a steak sauce. In this instance because the meat was such a good cut I went for Worcestershire and salt, that way I enhanced the cut instead of covering up the flavor. All n all this is an awesome place to eat n I hope to revisit prior to going back to Dallas.

This restaurant can be summed up in one sentence — READTHEREVIEWS and SETYOUREXPECTATIONSACCORDINGLY. Yes, the décor is out of the 70’s. Or Early Williamsburg. Or the Boston Waterfront in the days of Sloops and Whalers. And… there are no windows. It has a salad and soup bar, which comes with all meals. And it IS very fresh, with lots of choices. Like green pepper, red onion, chopped egg, carrots, celery. In other words, nice standard, recognizable salad ingredients. This isn’t a place you will find sprouts, daikon, and other ‘modern’ ingredients. There are 2 soups — help yourself in actual cups. Tonight, clam chowder, Italian wedding — nice conservative choices, but they were very good. And yep, Saltine crackers. Two breads. A few pasta salads. The bizarre part for me was that this was located in a teeny tiny room. Get 4 people in line and forget it /plus it is SLOOOW. So quite honestly, although the salad was fresh, it isn’t worth the hassle. Dinners were fish(fried cod) and steak(early bird 8oz sirloin) The first was good. The 2nd was flavorless. Salt did not help, so just ordered some A-1 and drowned it. What was odd was that I ordered it Med Rare and received it that way. But there was no juice in the steak when you cut into it. Dry, flavorless, and just not good. Our baked potato’s were cooked well and served hot. The waitress was very pleasant and stayed on top of our needs. She was a highlight of the evening. So our take is that if you don’t care about décor(or sunlight), prefer to wait in line so you can prepare your own salad, get your own bread, and scoop your own soup,(quite honestly, I call that cooking at home, but whatever) and be willing to roll the dice as to whether your dinner will be edible, then make a reservation(yes, they take them) and dine here. We won’t be back.

What a delicious meal! The atmosphere is completely casual, but the food is great. If you’re a fan of salad bars, come here for sure. All the entrees come with salad bar. I didn’t think the salad bar would be fully satisfying so I got the salmon. But by the time we had soup and salad, I realized I could have just stuck with that alone. The salad bar was pretty complete, other than proteins like chicken or turkey. The soup was incredible. The chicken gumbo was TODIEFOR. The salmon was glazed with teriyaki and delicious. And the baked sweet potato melted in my mouth. And if you order drinks, beware. They make them strong. A LOT of vodka in a vodka soda. We had a great experience here.

We visited the restaurant for the first time on my husband’s birthday. It was a delightful experience! Our server Cindy was fabulous! He ordered prime rib and I ordered a fish special over risotto. Both we delicious! It is an old fashioned steakhouse. We found it very charming. The salad bar was amazing! Everything was fresh! We will definitely be back!

Great meal! We only went because we met the owner randomly on the beach. Upon arrival he remembered us and said we would not be disappointed. He was right. We had great Prime Rib that came with a huge salad bar. We could not have been more pleased. Service was good and we will go back.

We finally ate here after many people highly suggesting it. I had the Ribs which were good but not the best I’ve had. My wife had a fillet and same thing(good but not fantastic). The meal came with a decent salad bar. What I didn’t like was the set up of the salad bar in a small room. It was a little cramped and a constant line of people. I have to say though we arrived when they opened so it was packed with people looking to take advantage of the early bird specials. Which is not a great deal by the way. It’s really only a $ 1 less than the normal price from what I could tell. Overall it was good and the service was ok. The restrooms were very clean. I’d probably give it 3.5 stars if I were able to

First time customer and last time customer! Had the prime rib… no taste under seasoned just not very good for their speciality, and over priced!!! Wife felt the same! Only high point was the salad bar and the clam chowder!

Way overpriced for what you get. My wife’s filet minion was seriously lacking in flavor. My prime rib was good, but not nearly as incredible as the waitress made it sound. Salad bar? Come on now? What decade are we in? I was our first time eating here. We thought there would be a nice view of the water. There was not. The dining room was very outdated. I would recommend Connors in Gulf Coast Town Center over he Pewter Mug any day. For the amount that we spent on dinner, we could have almost eaten at Ruth’s Chris. Very disappointed.

I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed! The prime rib is a must try, as is the key lime pie! The beef stroganoff is also very good. The service is always great and their bartenders are always pleasant to converse with. I hope to go back and try more of their menu soon!

Used to love coming here, but now it’s going downhill. I’ve been a regular here since it re-opened about 5 years ago. I’ve always enjoyed the food, and the friendliness of the wait staff and bartenders. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and did not have a good experience, and really weren’t treated very well. My girlfriend ordered one of the specials, that came with mushroom rissotto as a side. She’s allergic to mushrooms, so we asked if they could substitute something or just leave the mushrooms out of the rissotto. We were pretty emphatically told«no, nothing can be changed» because it was a special. They ended up offering her broccoli, which we could have just gotten from the salad bar but whatever. I ordered the baby back ribs, which weren’t tender at all and really had no flavor. Our dining experience was not really a good one at all. Menu hasn’t been changed in ages, interior and décor is extremely dated, and the only thing that’s changed over the past few years is the drink prices have gone up and the service has gone down.
