This place is great. We’ve been here four times and each time, my son has gotten a fantastic hair cut. The stylists are young but they’re very talented and extremely professional(read: gentle and patient) which is a must when you’re dealing with kids and toddlers. My son generally hates haircuts(screams throughout the entire process) so the experience is often as traumatic for me as it is for him. He is definitely a LOT less fussy here, probably because he gets lots of attention and distractions(TV, bubbles, toys, lollipops). Even better, the price can’t be beat. Probably because we live in NYC where a todder haircut is a ridiculous $ 40 minimum without tip(you think I’m kidding, I’m sadly not). So whenever we visit grandma and grandpa in nearby Manchester, we always make a stop at Snip Its before we leave. I will also add that the cuts he’s gotten here have been way nicer than the ones in NY for some reason(super precise, great shape and easy to style) so I’m more than happy to pay $ 16 to $ 20 and leave a generous tip. Also a plus, get on their mailing list and you might get an occasional coupon.

Took my almost 1 year old for his very first haircut, couldn’t be happier! They are truly a salon that caters to kids. Worth every penny! Be sure to get the $ 4 off coupon from their website for first-timers. We will definitely be back!

We went here for my daughter’s first hair cut(2.5 yrs old) on the recommendation of others. We went with my niece and nephew who have both had their hair cut before so she would be less afraid. She struggles with some sensory issues so we were concerned how she would do. We worked with Christina and she was WONDERFUL. Not only did she do everything to keep my daughter calm and relaxed(bubbles, turned down video, gave her a toy to hold), she also kept checking with me about how much of the hair I wanted cut. She trimmed bangs and hair, leaving the beautiful«baby curls» mostly in tact. Pros: Kid focused — even get a «toy/prize» at the end! Not busy on Monday AM when we went Walk in service Aware/willing to work with kids that have sensory issues/fears Cons: Can see it being off the wall on weekend days Price is a little higher– but well worth the $! We will be back for sure!

My son and I had an awesome experience here! As soon as we walked in, the staff was extremely welcoming and energetic. The stylist took time with me with a book of haircuts to help me decide what kind of cut to get and the cut came out just how we wanted it. She was extremely fast and my son didn’t even realize what was going on because there was enough stimuli to distract him… plus an endless supply of animal crackers which made his day! My two year old didn’t want to leave and actually threw a minor tantrum when it was time to go. The staff came to the rescue with bubbles and encouragement which got us out the door without too much more of a fuss. It was our first time there and we did use the 3.00 off coupon that we found on the Snip-its website so definitely print that out and bring it with you. We thought it was reasonably priced…18.00 after tip(we gave a generous tip). We’ll definitely be back.

Apparently you’re paying for an «experience» with the ridiculously high price. The only experience I had was my son screaming because the hairdresser wouldn’t stop trying to use an electric razor to trim his hair. Now every time he hears that sound at the salon, he freaks out. Thanks, but no thanks. And to boot, the girl was anything but gracious and patient.

After going there for a year, we went in last week to be immediately told that they can no longer cut my son’s hair because he has sensitive skin. What!!! Apparently this is a policy that the head of Snip-Its is reinforcing. They can not cut any child’s hair who has sensitive skin. I am boycotting Snip-Its and I ask that others do the same.

We needed a place to take our two-year-old twins for their first professional haircut. My husband has been cutting their hair prior, but was tired of traumatizing them, so figured that one of these kid friendly hair salon would be perfect for their first go round. He was right, the place is perfect for young children. It has crazy colors and decorations everywhere. Each hair station has a TV in which to entrance the child to forget about the sharp instruments hoovering around thier head. Also, the seatbelts are key here… you don’t have to worry about your child falling out of the very high barber’s chair. The stylists are very patient, and I can’t even imagine what they must see in a day, so that is very reassuring to a parent. They even will let you keep a lock of hair if this is an actual first haircut, which is really nice. The boys hair looks good, but strikingly similar, even though I had asked for two different haircuts. I have a feeling with boys there is limited styles due to possible fidgety-ness(yes, I realize that is not an actual word). When it came to paying, we were taken back a bit. The tag was slowly marching towards $ 40 before tip, and definitely hit it after. Thankfully, I had a coupon for $ 3 off first time visitors which helped knock the bill down a bit. You are obviously paying for the very patient hair stylists and cheeky décor. I think this is a perfect place to take your child for either their first haircut ever, or their first big boy/girl haircut. I think the place is cute and is a great idea. I would just expect a little bit more for the price I paid in regards to an actual hairstyle.
