Been twice once at the bar and then with a large group. Plenty of seating, prefer to sit at bar. Brisket sandwich is damn tasty. Black eyed pea salad pairs well as does the local brew! Minus one star, no chalk in bathroom to doodle whilst my baby girl is on the potty! Ha!

Worst brisket I’ve had south of the Mason Dixen. The red sauce is too sweet. My buddy loved the hot chicken though

Stopped by here on mistake as the place we were wanting to go to was closed for lunch… boy am I glad the other place was closed and we ended up here! We had the pulled pork sandwich combo(which honestly was so large we could of split) it was super tender and their sauce is really really good. Our sides we had were potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw(vinegar based), Mac and cheese and banana pudding– all of which were very good. I will say though the Mac and cheese had a different flavor to it, possible maybe some basil or thyme added? Different but was still good. The bar has a really good selection of beers and liquors… we can’t wait to go back!

This place is just FANTASTIC! Our order– two of the tuck’s special, shrimp tacos and pork tacos, wings and banana pudding. Underrated gem– Best Shrimp tacos ever. So on point. Juicy shrimp, just the right level of spice and flavors to complement this barbecue style spot. Having said that– don’t let the fact that it’s a barbecue spot deter you from ordering tacos. These are better than tacos I’ve had at Mexican restaurants. The tuck special– the brisket is cooked deliciously, flavorful and complemented fantastically with the pimento cheese. The little bit of the egg oozing out was a pleasant surprise. That cheese though– yum! I didn’t need to use any more sauce on the side. It was delicious just as is. Pork tacos were great too– but those shrimp tacos just stole the show. The chicken wings we ordered were half classic, half barbecue. Both flavors were super. I’m not a big chicken fan as mentioned in earlier reviews, but these were tender and juicy and extremely tasty. The banana pudding– with some biscuity/bread, fresh tasting cream and banana bits had me swooning. Do not leave Nashville without a visit here.

We were visiting Nashville for business and everyone raved about this place so we had to try it. This is an average BBQ joint. The service and food were good but nothing like the hype.

Honestly the food doesn’t knock my socks off but other people seem to love this place. I go because my husband likes it as for me I’d rather go to a different BBQ spot. I guess it also depends on what you order.

So we were looking for a great bbq place to check out while we had some time on our final day in Nashville. We ended up going to Edley’s and had an amazing first visit. My girlfriend and I are both lovers of hot(spicy) food and we both decided to get their Hot Chicken Platter. Fantastic portions, and we were not let down at all by the intensity of the hot chicken. Holy cow! Make sure that you can handle the heat if you order the hot chicken. I was literally sweating in places I never knew I could sweat. Still a 5 star rating though because the food was amazing, there service by the lady in front was fantastic and made us feel welcome. We will be back as soon as we come back to Nashville. Thank you!

This was my first meal in Nashville as soon as I departed the airport. A friend suggested it, so we enjoyed Saturday night dinner there. It was reasonably crowded for the time and day, which was a good sign. The food is no frills, inexpensive, and tastes great. I ordered the pork platter, which came with banana pudding, potato salad, and cornbread. It tasted amazing. I wish I had twice the amount of pudding. I was warned by my friend that the cornbread here is spicy. I tried some, and I wasn’t a big fan, just because I love my cornbread to be sweet. Still, I can see why people would enjoy their cornbread with heat, so I won’t knock it.

Amazing food! The mac n cheese is the best I’ve had, and you must MUST try the shrimp po’ boys ! The atmosphere is pretty chill, usually with lots of hipsters. Drinks range from basic beer to pretty creative. I highly recommend the mimosas, served in a mason jar, and plenty strong :) definitely a must when living in Nashville or visiting! Love this place!

After an afternoon of bar crawling the honky tonks on Broadway we made our way back to 12S where we were staying looking for something to eat and soak up a little bit of the alcohol. At Edley’s you order at the counter and take a seat. They also have a bar inside, but drinks are ordered at the bar separately from your food. We approached the counter and were greeted by a friendly girl who took our order. I went with the catfish platter which came with two sides. Mac and cheese is of course a must so I chose that as one, and then in an attempt to be «healthy» I got mustard greens for my second side. I really loved that when the catfish order was placed the girl yelled«cat plat» back to the kitchen. My boyfriend got the rib platter with mac and cheese as well as beans. While we waited for our food I headed up to the bar and grabbed a vodka soda and a beer. Our dinners were delivered and in true barbecue fashion they did not skimp on portions at all. Apart fro the fact that I selected two sides the platter is served with coleslaw, pickles, and corn bread. Everything was very yummy. The mac and cheese was baked, but still a had a creamy texture to it. The mustard greens were great. The catfish was the real star. The fillets were fried perfectly, and the batter had a nice peppery kick to it that I loved. The barbecue sauce on the table had a little bit of sweetness to it, but also the vinegary flavor that I really enjoy. My boyfriend really enjoyed his ribs, and we came pretty close to finishing all our food. We couldn’t stop because it was so delicious, but really these platters could be two or three meals. Pricing here is reasonable for the portions, and the atmosphere is fitting for the style of food. The staff was friendly and quick to pick up our plates as we finished. When I went to the bar, the bartender knew it well and was able to make a beer recommendation. I also have to note, that I kind of got the idea to come here from the Unilocal Miami CM Cassie G. It seems somehow we were in Nashville the same weekend as I saw her checked in «nearby» at the Edley’s downtown(there are two locations) where we were bar hopping. I had contemplated stalking her down, but opted just to follow in her food footsteps, it’s such a small world!

Really like this place. I’ve been twice, one time on a BBQ bar crawl and once for fun. The first time around I got a pulled pork sandwich that was good, not great, but good. The second time, I had the brisket plate which was honestly some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. The meat was sweet and flavorful and melts in your mouth. Be sure to get there at lunch time because that’s the only time it’s available. Also, my group tried the BBQ nachos, which were potato chips with all the typical nacho fix-ins and shredded meat. Overall, the place is a winner.

We enjoyed our meal. The prices are reasonable, they’re pet friendly and even bought the baby a cold bowl of water. The ribs were tender and flavorful, as well as the beans and jalapeño corn bread. The BF thoroughly enjoyed the hot chicken sandwich. The drinks were good, the pie was OK. I’d definitely return again.

Great food. It’s too bad the brisket is only served during the day because it’s delicious. The last couple times I came in, I was holding a baby carrier and one of the friendly staff members(I believe his name was Kent) offered me a seat where I could set the baby down while the rest of my family ordered. BOTH times this happened, another staff member rudely told me that I could not wait while the rest of my party was in line. Luckily their food is sometimes worth the occasional rushed service.

Best brisket in town. Try the Brisket Tacos or Tuck Special for lunch. I considered giving 4 stars because they don’t have brisket at dinner and while the rest of the food I’ve had here for lunch or dinner has been good, the Brisket is the real attraction. I couldn’t bring myself to rate as anything less than perfection when I can say without hesitation that the«Tuck Special» is the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I’m from Pork BBQ country. Ask for some of their fried jalapeños on the side or sub them for the pickles. Do yourself a favor and try this joint. If you’re not on a tight schedule then come a little later in the afternoon, as its usually very crowded.

Before committing to a couple of weeks of eating cleaner, my husband asked me where I’d like to have my «last meal». I was craving BBQ and we hadn’t been to Edley’s in about a year. Edley’s was the winner! I was a bad bad girl and got the Kermit(pulled pork sandwich with fried pickles no top, sauced with a white bbq sauce), oh and two side. I made the great decision of Mac and Cheese and a Skillet Corn. Side Pro’s: I loved the Mac and Cheese, it was creamy with a hint of crunch, just like my Mom makes.(Who ever came up with Panko Bread Crumbs… thank you!) Cons: Skillet Corn, definitely wasn’t made in a skillet, it was cold, and it seemed like canned corn with bits of bacon in it. not what I immediately think of with the name«Skillet Corn” — needs some help. Aside from the Skillet Corn my meal at Edley’s was spot on. It hit the spot in many ways! Cheers to my «Fappy» belly!

This was the only BBQ I had while in Tennessee and it was great! I had the beef brisket, with a side of potato salad and Mac & cheese. The BBQ sauce was sweet and exactly what I enjoy. I wasn’t extremely impressed with the sides, I thought the mac could have been better! I was bummed that the fried okra wasn’t in season, but will return on my next visit to Nashville to try it out! This was my first bushwhacker experience and I loved it! It’s this crazy boozy frozen drink– think boozy chocolate milkshake but better.

I was dying to try hot chicken and finally ordered it here. It was not for me. When perusing other menus I saw a few spots where you could order mild, medium, or hot(Hattie B’s for instance but we never made it there). I assumed that was the case everywhere, like chicken wings. My bad. It comes in one flavor here and it was way too hot for me. Hubbs stripped off the litter seasoning and made a pool of BBQ sauce and honey for me so I could«cool» it down a bit and eat it. It being too hot for me was my issue not theirs, so no star deductions for that. I love brisket and would have hopped on that, but for some odd reason they only serve it at lunchtime… boo I enjoy black eyed peas and they aren’t something you see much of in Arizona. Sadly theirs were lackluster, but this is a small issue in an otherwise delicious experience. The baked beans were a great combination of beans and had fabulous flavor. Seriously, these are really good. Maybe some of the best I’ve had. Let’s face it, most restaurants don’t put much thought into these, but not here. Mac and Cheese…5 stars. My kids know how to make a béchamel for Mac and cheese. We know Mac and cheese and continue to order it out and are rarely delighted. This is some tasty Mac and cheese. Lovely sauce with the right balance of sharpness in the cheese(not too sharp but you know it’s there), little bacon and omg I got a bunch of those browned edge pieces… yumm Hubbs had the pulled pork and it was tender and moist and had fabulous smoke flavor. He is a generous man and willingly shared with me :) This was better than the Peg Leg Porker(they use too much red chile in their rub and sauce). We grabbed a couple desserts for later that day: gooey butter cake, a bit too sweet for us, and what I think was a chocolate brownie with nuts with marshmallows on top — it was fabulous whatever it was! Watched the game, had a tasty pumpkin beer and enjoyed a yummy(albeit hot for me) meal. Nicely done!

So we came here for the brisket and had high expectations given the previous reviews. We were not disappointed! The bbq was tender and cooked to perfection. But, wait, before I get ahead of myself let me not forget the Bushwacker! While waiting for our food order we headed over to the bar to order a few drinks to sip on the patio on the beautiful spring afternoon. I thought, «we’re in Nashville, maybe some Jack Daniels Tennessee Whisky to settle us down. Nope! They had something(even better?)… The Bushwacker! Not a milkshake… but tastes like one. It’s basically just ice with tons of different alcohols and a little chocolate syrup will have you coming back for more. I’m usually not a fan of such drinks, but I since then I’ve been wanting to make this at home(recipes available online). Anyway, we downed the first round and I was back ordering a second round when our food arrived. The food was amazing. We had two platters to begin with and went back for a third because it was so delicious. The baked beans were great! Banana Pudding… amazing! Cornbread. nom nom nom. We couldn’t go wrong at this place, it was literally, all good. They gave us a water bowl for our dog to drink from while he laid out on the patio next to us. When we’re back in Nashville Edley’s is first on our list for food.

Great BBQ at a very reasonable price. There is a reason they are busy. The pork sandwich was very good. I enjoyed all the sides. If you are in the area or want to drive about 15 minutes from downtown go here.

I did quite a bit of research about top bbq places in Nashville mostly because I don’t eat pork and wanted to try somewhere with good non-pork bbq items. There are two locations, one closer to downtown and one on 12 south which I decided to go to this one as downtown was crazy and packed with all weekend concerts. The only turn off was that there was no brisket/beef items for dinner and they are only available for lunch. The line was pretty short(for a Friday night) the cashier was very nice and helpful with suggestions and although I wanted to try the chicken first, she assured me I’d enjoy the turkey more. Turkey is not my favorite meat so I took the risk and ordered a sandwich with two sides of coleslaw and mac n cheese. The ambience is rustic and and southern, and there are three different areas(bar, main dining, and porch). The food came very fast and I absolutely enjoyed the turkey. One of the best turkey dishes I have ever had; tender, juicy, tasty(it’s so hard to make a turkey dinner tasty lol). I really enjoyed the food, but the sides were ok. The coleslaw was more vinegary and a bit too sweet for me. The mac n cheese was a bit dry. Overall, I really enjoyed this place but wished they had served brisket for dinner too. I’d recommend this place to bbq lovers :)
