Embassy Suites

The Good:
Fresh. Hot. Breakfast… Complimentary. Need I say more? If you know me, you know I’m a breakfast gal. These guys have it down in spades. I also really like how the rooms are split into two rooms. It makes the sleeping area very private and separate, which is a good thing. The décor is pretty dang savvy. I like it. It’s classy, like me! I love the happy hour.1730−1930=free drinks. But make sure you tip your friendly bartender. The fitness center is also impressive. It’s bigger than most and features a hot tub and a sauna. Too bad I didn’t bring my bathing suit :(. Love the bar/​restaurant for a nightcap or a quick bite. Oh… and can I mention that the shuttle is awesome? I called down to get a shuttle to Kroger because I thought it was within the 2 mile radius that Embassy serves, turns out… it was 3.5 miles away. They took me anyways… and brought me back. It was super convenient, and I was so happy I didn’t have to get an Über.
The Bad:
The fridge doesn’t have a freezer component. It’s just a mini-fridge.and that’s it. What in the ?? I bought frozen meals knowing that every mini-​fridge has a small freezer portion… but not at Embassy. Wack. I’m sad that they don’t have a beer/​wine opener in the room. and the hotel I’ve been staying at in my Nashville adventures has a full fridge and plates, bowls, dishwasher, and utensils. So it was kind of letdown to see that Embassy just had a wetbar and a mini-​fridge. Especially when you stay for a week at a time. as I do.
The Verdict: I like Embassy. It has the bells and whistles many people like, while I think it’s lacking in some areas for long termers like me… but that’s because I stay for a week or more at a time. Where it lacks, it makes up for in other areas. Everyone is different and has different tastes… and I think this place meets many peoples wants/​needs.

We just stayed here. It was very disappointing compared to the embassy suites we’ve stayed at before. The linens were scratchy. The WiFi was terrible and barely worked at all. The vallets were nice when we arrived. We had used the shuttle but when we needed picking up they didn’t know where anything was and didn’t even obey traffic laws. The breakfast was alright but cheaply made. Went to omellete and waffle part to get a waffle and they say they don’t make those. Even tho it says they do on the sign and I’m looking at the waffle iron. The complimentary drinks and snacks were nice. This place could use a pool or something to enjoy besides a tiny whirlpool. Pretty disappointing. Also paying $ 18 to park is ridiculous. Its also very noisy being by the street. Sounded like someone was moving furniture the entire night of our last night. Lots of things to work on. I didn’t mind the outdated décor.

Embassy Suites Nashville — Vanderbilt
A few months ago we stayed at the Embassy Suites and it was an interesting experience. We arrived and went to the bar downstairs, our bartender was more than friendly and we loved her! Our room was awesome– you can tell they have taken time to provide clean rooms for guests. The room was the best part. Breakfast is free in the mornings until 10:30 which is a pretty reasonable time. However, since we are gluten free, our options were limited. The eggs were sub-​par, the bacon and sausage were pretty greasy but yummy, and the coffee was good! The area to eat downstairs is large and accommodating– we had a large group. The breakfast staff was very friendly at the suites.
Our second night at the Ebassy suites took a turn for the worst when we were waiting for the complimentary shuttle to take us downtown. We were informed that we had to be put on the waiting list and reserve the shuttle but we were never offered a list. One of the shuttle attendants (didn’t catch his name) was extremely rude. We complained to the front desk– the staff at the front desk is friendly and offers us a $ 20 Über coupon and we decide to order an Über instead of taking the shuttle. After we talked to the front desk, the shuttle attendant (same rude guy) came storming in saying he could have taken care of us but we decided to make other plans in more or less words. We were shocked as he raised his voice to us and got in a verbal argument with us! We were baffled. I have never experienced something like this in a hotel setting. Very unsettling.
The next day we had a very late flight around 9pm so we wanted to pay for a half day. The late check out was 1pm and we were informed that a half day would be $ 125 and we could only stay until 3pm. The lady on the phone was rude and not understanding whatsoever. We definitely will not be staying in the Embassy suites any time soon, this experience totally turned us off.

Just stayed here. Not overly impressed. Breakfast and happy hour was the best part. Service was poor, rooms in need of an update. Over a mile to honky Tonk and shuttle is nice but stops at 10pm. Wouldn’t stay at Embassy again.

The stay itself was great, the room was slightly dirty (first night we found toe nail clippings on the carpet… gross!)
House keeping would want to come in at the most random times, two nights they didn’t come in all day and then wanted to come in at night around 6. breakfast was excellent, the nightly rate was average, closer to the high side, but that was fine.
I was disappointed with management and the front desk when I had left the hotel. About two hours after leaving I discovered I had let my pillow there (I have a medical condition and purchased this ridiculously expensive pillow via recommendation from my chiropractor) after noticing I did not have it I called right away (we were driving and had been in the car for about 2 hours) the girl working took my room information, home address and said they would mail it to me and charge the card on file. After not receiving in a week or so later I called again. They had not found it, therefore did not send it. I explained I called only 2 hours later; around 9AM… Apparently the girl never even looked or put a note in the computer. I called and left a message with the manager and never received a phone call back. I called (again) and talked to the front desk and explained it was for a medical condition and they said they would ask the house keeping staff… again never heard back. Needless to say the stay was great, the aftermath was terrible, seeing as I come to Nashville about 6 times a year, it is safe to say they lost my business

This property has seen better days. It needs a face-​lift and each room should be renovated and checked out.
Check-​in was easy and the desk clerk was pleasant. Our room was a basic early 2000 or late 90’s style room. The TV was updated but they need to work through the basics to get it to a level where we would want to stay again.
We selected valet parking since their lot is a pain to get in and out of plus there was only a $ 4 difference from self parking.
The location is good and you can walk to numerous bars and restaurants. They have a shuttle that goes downtown and that was a definite plus.
Breakfast was standard Embassy Suites fare. It opens at 7AM on weekends (I was still on Eastern time when I went down, no wonder they were looking at me funny and mentioned a couple times that breakfast opened at 7… I was there at 6AM. They were nice and let me get some obviously needed coffee).
I don’t think we’ll stay at this property again as there are other updated Hilton properties in the general area in the same price range. Once they renovate we’ll be back.

The good: Breakfast is pretty sweet; they have most things you can imagine including a few traditional southern favorites and omelets to order. They also have a free happy hour every night until 7:30. The staff is nice, but that might be because this is Nashville and everyone is nicer here than in Connecticut, where I’m from.
The bad: This is my second night in this hotel. First night, we noticed our toilet was broken and didn’t flush. We know a thing or two about toilets, so we opened the back and flushed it manually by lifting the plunger thing on the chain. We did this all night and requested that they fix it in the morning while we were gone. Got back in the evening and it was still broken. We said to just leave it because we are checking out in the morning … But then while performing the manual flush technique, the chain in the back broke clean off and we can no longer manually flush it. Pretty annoying (and super gross). This is a nice hotel from the looks of it, but I was pretty disappointed in this stay (stayed once before a year ago and it was fine). Everything seems just a bit worn and grungy this time. Some ripped furniture, some things out of place, and just generally a dirty feeling. Also… Sandpaper pillowcases and towels. So noticeably that they’re irritating to skin. And finally, as I lay in bed writing this review (at 11:10 PM), I can hear loud music from a restaurant or bar on the back side of the hotel (my room is located towards the back right). It’s audible to the point where I can make out some of the songs being played and definitely very distracting if you’re a light sleeper.
Overall, definitely not staying here next visit. Disappointed in the service and the quality. Especially for the price.

A/​C was horrible. Toilet overflowed at 6am and no one could help. No pool. Hot tub was broken. Hotel needs repairs. TV channels weren’t coming in. They didn’t have quarters for anyone wanting change fir the washer or dryer. Water pressure in the shower was HORRIBLE. Breakfast was good. Carpet in bedroom was sticky. I don’t recommend thus one.

The staff was friendly and the hotel lobby/​atrium area was comfortable (love the ginormous fountain). The room was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour was nice although they promoted «try our happy hour sliders» on screens throughout the hotel every day but it was always just chips and dips and a few veggies. Parking was convenient and we used the complimentary hotel shuttle a lot to get to/​from Broadway. The biggest complaint: Our room never got cool in spite of having the air on 60 degrees and the fan on high. I probably wouldn’t stay here again because we really needed a pool to cool off after wandering around Nashville but the price was right and it was convenient.

This Embassy Suites is located in a great area in downtown Nashville. We really enjoyed being able to just walk out of the hotel and venture to numerous eating establishments without a problem.
The Self parking is $ 18 and The Valet parking is $ 22. We opted for Valet and the service was excellent!
The hotel is nice. They have the standard fare for an Embassy with the Manager’s Reception and the breakfast.
The room was very clean and cozy. I am not a big fan of noisy rooms and this room was noisy. Loud air conditioning and plumbing. Also, since the room is facing the busy downtown streets it was pretty loud.
Our housekeeper was very brassy. So much so that I opted out of cleaning services during my stay. Yes. She was that brassy.
Aside from that the hotel is in a good location, convenient if you have kiddos, and great value. It is not luxury by any means, but hey… its Embassy Suites. If you’re looking for luxury… uhmmmm…this isn’t it.
I would stay here again if I was attending another conference in the area and had my daughter (the suite gave her space) but the Cool Springs Embassy is better IMO.

I stayed at this hotel for the third time the first week of May. When I stayed in February I noticed the internet was working and the tv/​cable wasn’t working very well. I made numerous phone calls to the front desk about the problem. I told them I had many people staying there in May for my daughter’s graduation and since we would be working while we were there, it was imperative we have good internet. They told me they were having a complete overhaul of their internet service and it would be completed before my next stay. I did not change my reservation. What a mistake. I had my whole family arrive and the internet didn’t work, or the tv cable system. I asked the front desk and they said that the overhaul had fallen through. We had trouble with the happy hour, the breakfast, the parking garage problems, one room was so hot we put wet washcloths by the bed to cool down, constant problems with one room with the keys, etc. etc. I was not going to stop all the festivities to call downstairs every time something happened because between all of our rooms, that would have pretty much have been all we would have done. My bill for my 2 of the rooms was almost $ 2000 and it was the worst hotel stay I have ever had at a Hilton hotel. I know alot about Hilton hotels because I am a diamond member and I stay in one almost every week. On my last day, the icing on the cake was when they said I couldn’t have a diamond member late checkout. That is when I lost it and told the front desk clerk ALL the problems we had and all he said to me was, «Why didn’t you tell us this during your stay?» I told him I wasn’t going to put a damper on my daughter’s graduation by calling down every 5 minutes but I would definitely want this passed on to a supervisor and have them contact me. Never heard a word from a supervisor. Not even a phone call, email, nothing.
Mr. Scott Balmaseda, the General Manager, never contacted me, but finally responded to a negative review on Tripadvisor saying how hard is to get the internet fixed and how they are on a waiting list to get it, but that is not advertised anywhere on their site, plus he didn’t address the hot rooms, the fact you had to have someone walk to the valet to get them to use their key to open the parking garage access because the keys didn’t work, and the valet employees said it happens all the time and needs to be fixed. He didn’t address the breakfast area closing early on May 10^th, even though it was Mother’s Day. He didn’t address the cable tv not working, the fact that the evening happy hour had fritos and hot sauce, really? and wouldn’t give you a bloody mary because that was extra. Really? This place is a rip-​off. As anyone can see from my reviews, this is not my average review. I review great customer service as well. I hate to hear of anyone losing their jobs but it is evident Mr. Balmaseda does not have the skill or maybe the heart to run this hotel. Shame on you Mr Balmaseda.

My room was huge and off the elevator. I kept the door to my bedroom closed just to feel intimate in my large bedroom space. The furniture was old fashion, not my favorite look. The staff was very helpful and professional. I would stay again.

I like this hotel, we stayed in room 1038. Clean, great omelet bar, great location, free happy hour 5:30 — 7:30, family friendly, love the ambiance of the atrium. What I don’t like is that their beds are very HARD which makes it uncomfortable, but the bed linens are comfortable, including the soft pillows. Late night (after midnight), loud noises outside, screaming yelling, expensive parking $ 22 a day, despite the few dislikes, overall I like this hotel!

I like the Embassy Suites especially their delicious made-​to-​order breakfast. During this stay, my family was lucky to get a room tucked away in a corner so it was nice and quiet. The service that we received from everyone was good. The hotel is within a walking distance from Vanderbilt University and many local restaurants. I think I will encourage my son to apply to Vanderbilt just so I can come back here again.

Dated décor. Rooms are not soundproof (as in, I was awakened by the alarm set by the person in the room next door). Bed was saggy. Wifi was slow and didn’t reach to bedroom, just living room area.
Front desk staff was curt and did NOT go out of their way to help.
I self parked because the valet didn’t know how to drive stick.
Breakfast was great! The woman making waffles and omelets had a smile for everyone!

I try to stay mainly at Hilton properties.
For the price point in and around Vanderbilt and downtown Nashville, this is one of my favorite hotels. The staff is mostly very courteous and the rooms are clean. They have a great breakfast buffet or cooked to order omelettes.
It is less than a five minute walk to a lot of great restaurants and only about a 5 to 10 minute drive, depending on traffic, to downtown Nashville and all of the great music on Broadway.

Every room is a suite. It’s kind of an Embassy thing.
For this right-​in-​the-​mix location of the Hilton offshoot, you get just that. The character and aesthetic are a bit archaic, so the trendy and hip-​seeking may scoff at the digs. But the bed is comfortable, the suites are large and supremely clean, and there’s a hot buffet breakfast with an omelet station. And for these things, I can forgive the sterile, 1980’s Holiday Inn atmosphere.
The location can’t be topped. Astride Music Row, and in that sweet spot of midtown that puts you across the street from Hattie B’s, and a block from Patterson House means dinner and drinks. Every night. Allthenights. Explore Vandy to burn off those unearned calories — that’s why most of your suite neighbors are staying here. Pack black and gold.
Self-​parking in the attached garage (which is a nightmare to navigate) will run you $ 38 a day. So, load up on that comped bacon before the clock strikes 10am.

3 Stars because the staff was so nice and the location was perfect! They have a shuttle that you can reserve that will pretty much take you anywhere and its free (remember to tip!).
The rooms were nice,… except the mattress in our room we noticed on the last day had a GIANT mystery stain that looked like blood. It definitely wasn’t wine… wine does not turn brownish after it dries. It was sooooo gross.
We didn’t get a chance to try out the restaurant but the breakfast was free which was great but you have to expect not that great of food.

I came upon this place because the hotel I was going to stay at was in an unsafe area and the reviews were mistaken. So luckily I was recommended this place and sight unseen we booked it. We were on our honeymoon and this place is the place you would expect to stay in on your honeymoon.
We had gotten a suite which had 2 rooms in it. You walk into a sitting room with a pull-​out couch, arm chair, tv, desk, office chair, small wet bar, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee and tea. Then you walk through a small hall past the bathroom with a shower, bath, full vanity and toilet. Then our room had a bedroom with a door, closet, 2 queen beds, tv and makeup vanity with full sized mirror. The beds were very comfy and pillows were great and the sheets were clean. The whole suite was very clean and I am very particular about the cleanliness of my hotel rooms.
Hotel itself is great every weekday they have a reception with wine and beer and snacks like chips and salsa for free from 5:30 — 7:30. It is a great idea but the snacks are kinda sad and they never have enough for the amount of people that show up.
The breakfast at this place is unbelievable. They have your normal cereal and milk, fresh cut fruit, yogurt. Then they have scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage. They also have a lady cooking made to order omelets and waffles. On the side they have toast, muffins, donuts, english muffins and other pastries. Finally they have juice, coffee, milk, and sodas. They have plenty of room to sit the whole 1^st floor is dedicated to eating and lounging.
Services they offer are room service, exercise room with sauna and hot tub. laundry and self-​laundry, in house restaurant and a small store for snacks and things you forgot.
The hotel is also within walking distance from many restaurants and a fabulous cupcake shop. It is a great driving distance from downtown.
I only gave it 4 stars because the wallpaper in our room was peeling and patched, the room had an annoying unidentifiable squeak noise and it cost $ 8.50 for Malibu rum and pineapple juice and the bartender is horrible. Also you have to pay $ 18 for parking a night and their parking garage is bad it has weird hills in it and the spots are so close together and really close to huge poles.

Update 7−31−14: as a result of their email survey, post stay, the manager contacted me and «made this right» and even asked if there were additional issues. Well done. So with that level of customer care I would change this review to 4 stars. He took care of a loyal hilton customer.
I’ve stayed at this property three times; business and pleasure. This experience was sub par because the tv in the bedroom was crappy. It was fuzzy. The remote didn’t work and it only got a few channels. They did repair or swap it out. There was a three inch screw laying in the middle of the floor. And wow. Glad I saw it or it would have hurt like heck to step on. I wasn’t really bothered by the crumbs on the footrest till the other two incidents (tv and screw). So the attention to detail was lacking this trip. On top of that the parking as others have noticed is ridiculously right be it a ford explorer or a Camry. I was aggravated after the screw and the messed up tv so the extremely tight Parking lot was icing on the cake because with tax this «suite» was just over three hundred bucks for one. Night. Wow. Expect a little more from a hilton property for premium dollars.
