Engaging in Fun Badassery in Midtown Nashville! SITREP My hats off to local Nashville Elite Unilocalvinity Lindy B. for organizating this fun romp of an Unofficial Unilocal Event(UYE) on Unilocal Spring Break’s(YSB) Saturday Night! It was clear after dinner for many of us, we were in dire need to s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g our legs and getting a SECOND dose of the Nashville Night Scene on the Weekend. So our core group from the Sycamore Nashville dinner event met up to continue the fun. THESETUP The entire night plan was fun & flexible with all of us meeting up at our first location: FIRSTSTOPMIDTOWNBARHOP — THEREDDOORPATIO This is where we met Linday B. who kindly«laid claim» to a large table for us to grab. This is a great place to grab a drink, chill, listen to some popular tunes, chat and enjoy a nice decompression from the insane speed of the weekend. This place has some AMAZING patio space — only downside is that there are definitely not enough chairs for the number of tables and people that could fit in the extensive patio area. The music is all over the place — Andrew and I really got into rockin when Def Leppard’s «Pour Some Sugar On Me» came on. So mostly Top 40 hits across the Pop, Country, Rock charts, which makes for a decent format when you have people from all walks hitting Red Patio. SECONDSTOPMIDTOWNBARHOP — AURA Of all the places we hit on our crawl, Aura had the most beautiful & swanky lounge set-up, with beautiful furnishings including leather couches, conversational booths, intimate nooks, etc. etc. The layout was not symmetrical at all and made for a playful maze to walk from one area to another. At this point in our evening, we were joined by the illustrious local Nashville Unilocalvinity Sheena T. who just bedazzled me with her knowledge of guitars and music and Karaōke(hence why SHE is the lead for tonights UYE Karaōke event tonight!). The music here was more R & B with some light Hip Hop, as was the caliber of the crowd, an enjoyable marked contrast from the previous location. When we soaked up as much as we wanted from this stop we moved on. Just as we were leaving, our contingent of San Diego Unilocalers arrived, and so we grabbed them to the next stop… THIRDSTOPMIDTOWNBARHOP — SOULSHINE This was an amazing fun stop. Very much like a music venue /sports bar /pizza parlor /dive bar /home of the HUGESTCEILINGFAN I’ve ever seen! Our server told me it was 30FEETACROSS! This was another fun chill environment. As we arrived, a World Fusion Genre Band played a few more songs before they finished their set. And then it was to the Jukebox for more music. I wasn’t joking about the pizza! They serve really nice personal size pizza(but much larger than the airport crap I was bitching about in my Las Vegas stop. It was large enough for Marti & Sheena to split. And the place wasn’t beyond throwing extra pizzas for free at our table if they had made too many than what was ordered. A great stop! I started to peter out a bit, more from the accumulated & aggregated & aggravated events of 3 days in a roll with lack of sleep, so for me, turning in at 1am was turning in early! THELOWDOWN A wonderful look at the Nashville Night Scene on a Saturday Night in Midtown.
