It was gross and now it’s gone. Thankfully. If you ate here I feel sorry for you. If you’re in the area eat at goldrush. It’s not too bad.

I’ve been told that this place is now closed. I was thinking that Unilocal had a checkbox on businesses to let people know that a business is now closed. Am I dreaming? They SHOULD have one if not — too many business come and go and it would be so easy to just check a «NOWCLOSED» box.

I love this place and the people that work here! It’s predictable and exactly what it presents itself as – a relaxed and reasonable Mexican restaurant. A part of me is heartbroken seeing it so quiet, but then again-I love the intimate and gossip-worthy environment over cheap and delicious margaritas. Our server was awesome and knew the menu like the back of his hand. I’ll be back soon, I’ll bring my friends, and you should too.

The interior looked inviting and colorful, so I invited myself here. In the cavernous interiors, there were exactly two groups of people. It looked strange. I waited for 10 minutes before someone came to seat us. Ding one star. I looked at the menu and was surprised that they had a vegetarian section. To drink, we ordered a Modelo and a sangria. We got a Modelo and something that was grape juice. The waiter asked us what we wanted. I told him we need a couple of minutes. He returned in about 45s and asked if we had made up our minds. I chose the veggie chimichanga(a rarity) and my friend got the chile rollenos. One tasted like cardboard and the other was alright. Passable. As I was eating the last morsel he zoomed up and asked me if he clear the plate away. I never felt more hurried while eating such mediocre food. And I hate idiots who stare at me as I retrieve my wallet and pull out my cash/card to pay. This nut did. Small wonder that the place was deserted. I feel like I cheated on Taco Bell.

The Quick and Dirty I like Fiesta if I want a quick price friendly lunch and I don’t want to worry about parking. I would consider this typical small town americanized mexican food, I can see where it wouldn’t stand up with some of the larger contenders in town. But not everything has to be trendy, or have a killer cocktail, or a special whoseitorwhatsit. But, quick, economical, no gimmicks, sometimes that’s all you need.

I usually go to this restaurant when I am near Vandy, want to eat cheap, and don’t want to wait or deal with crowds. The restaurant is pretty large but is never very busy. I am sometimes surprised that it has not gone out of business due to lack of customers. The food is served pretty quickly and is always average. The good thing is the prices are cheap. Like I said, I only eat there when I am looking for a cheap, fast, convenient meal. its a shame really because I think it is in a very cool location. I think if the food was better then they would attract a lot more customers. If you want to go to a Mexican restaurant where its lively and packed with customers, then go elsewhere.

Las Palmas is voted as Nashville’s finest Mexican restaurant almost every year in various«Best Of» lists. I don’t think Las Palmas is really all that good at all… but I would rather eat there than Fiesta Azteca. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot going for Fiesta Azteca. I had the enchilada sampler, and I asked for the veggie enchilada to be a spinach — this is an option listed in the menu. I took one bite of the spinach enchilada, and could not eat another. It tasted so BAD — questionably past its expiration date CANNED spinach, wrapped in little corn tortilla. It was downright GROSS. The guacamole was puréed, more like an avocado dip than a chopped up garlicky-lemony guacamole. It’s January… and these avocados were far from fresh, and tasting good. Even the salsa was uninspiring. If at first bite at a Mexican restaurant, I’m thinking, «This salsa isn’t that great», I think everything from then on can probably be predicted — and it’s probably not going to be very good.

No thank you. I went to Fiesta Azteca last week quite by accident. I was planning on having lunch at La Paz, but it was closed, so we headed across the street to Fiesta Azteca. I was pretty disappointed. The food is bland, the service is slow, and the place has clearly seen better days. I can’t think of any good reason to visit In fact, the only remarkable thing about the place is that it has great parking. Save your pesos!

3 broads. 2 cups of salsa. 1 massive bowl of tortilla chips. Add a $ 17 pitcher of tasty margarita(split between 3) and you have an economical and«energetic» happy hour crew. Average customer service with a slight delay in addressing us when we wanted to pay our tab but overall good experience! Am I a little tipsy writing this review? YES.

It is interesting that my perception of the Fiesta Azteca is radically different from the other Unilocalers on here. I had an awesome meal at Fiesta! Not only is this the only authentic Mexican restaurant this side of Nolensville Road but if you go for dinner and drinks after work you’ll have no trouble parking in the parking lot behind the restaurant or getting a table right away. No doubt before a concert at Exit/In Fiesta Azteca is packed like a can of sardines. The chips, oh! The chips. They strike an intimate balance between homemade corn chips and store bought. I’m not really sure which but who really cares as long as they are warm and can scoop up that tantalizing salsa. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas. Filled with broccoli, zucchini, onions, peppers, and tomatoes this steaming iron skillet was placed in front of me deliciously sizzling. The fiesta continued for two more meals after we left! We checked out for under $ 20 for two for dinner.

If you read the good reviews about this place, you’ll realize that these people were drunk when they ate here… TIP: Get drunk before you eat here They have this entrée called the«Customer Special» which is just Meat, rice, and queso mixed together and spread across a plate… What a «Special» customer indeed. It was probably inspired by the street vomit between this restaurant and the«Exit/In» club. Anyway, the point is that it’s bad food, ok service, not too sanitary

I’ve had my fair share of Tex Mex and this was some of the worst I’ve ever had. The chips were warm and the salsa was standard and its all downhill from here. I can describe this restaurant with one word: bland. Margaritas = bland. I ordered the burrito = bland. Another person ordered fajitas. They didn’t come out sizzling and they were bland. A different dude ordered tortilla soup as an app and it was bland. I don’t live in Nashville but there must be better places.

I’ll keep this one short — when it is busy, they have no order whatsoever in seating people, they tell you it will be about 20 minutes and then promptly forget your place in line and on a couple of occasions just forgot us. So prepare to be mightily peeved as you watch person after person get seated and the host keeps getting rotated out to someone who doesn’t recognize you. The food is ok, it’s nothing to brag about. Temperature is right. taste is ok, vegetarian selection is lacking and not horribly tasty. The patio is awesome, the servers are nice, the beer is good. There is no parking.

so good. The best mexican I’ve had in over 5 years. I pulled up to exit in and saw the line for the Butch Walker /Locksley show was out of control. So I decided to pop in next door and have a bite. I usually don’t like anything on the menu cause I have to customize, BUT Azteca has the ‘customer special’ which is exactly what I order. Meat beans cheese and rice. lol HUGE daiquiri(strawberry to be exact). And with tip it all came out to $ 22. I couldnt even eat ¼th of it all there was just so much damn food! I really love this place, and am glad that I took a chance. Perfect before a show :)

Standard yummy tex-mex, decent prices, blah blah blah. Let’s get to the good part: The ginormous margaritas that are available. Seriously, think about the size of your head… their large margarita is probably the size if not bigger than your head. Not only are they huge, but boy are they tasty!!! Their sangria is quite excellent, too. So, if you’re looking for some good grub and killer drinks for pre-rocking out at Exit/In or The End, I’d say make your way to Fiesta Azteca. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s not often that I say Mexican food is boring, but my meal here the other night was just that, BO-RING. The restaurant was virtually empty, and no servers were around to seat us. So, we had to go looking for them. Not a good start. The rest of the meal was served quickly — so much so that I felt a little rushed. «You done with that, Amigo?» No, I’m still eating and you certainly don’t need the table, so let me be. My margarita was sickly sweet. And not worth the $ 3.99 happy hour price tag. My meal, chicken enchiladas suizas, was not much better. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, just boring and bland. For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have been surprised if everything on my plate came straight from a can. What can I say? This place is a little below par, and the $ 16 price tag wasn’t really worth it. There are better Mexican places around town, so unless you’re on Elliston and in need of a quick meal, you can do better.

The best part about Fiesta Azteca is the patio. It’s a great place to go have a strawberry margarita on a sunny day. I also enjoy the very fair prices on pitchers of Dos Equis, one of my favorite beers. The food, however, is only so-so. It isn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but it definitely isn’t bad. The prices match the portions and they’re quick to refill a waning salsa bowl. The restaurant is always clean and well-maintained, and the décor is not cheesy and overly thematic. The best time to go is for appetizers and drinks before a show at Exit/In or The End which are both within about 50 feet.
