I booked a facial with Helen and she was fabulous! She really listens to your concerns and questions. I told her I had trouble with redness and she gave me a great sample to take home and didn’t push a thousand products at me. My skin looked so fresh afterwards, I didn’t feel like I needed a drop of makeup. She is a gem, I’ll definitely be back.

Melissa is great! She is always very professional and knows what she is talking about.

Melissa is hands down the best in the business! I go to her for laser, and all my facial needs. She keeps me looking young and happy. Love the professionalism and her dedication to staying up with all the latest and greatest things out there.

I love Glow! Melissa and Helen Gaye are such professionals and put me at ease immediately. They know the business in and out and can do a lot of things other places aren’t qualified to do because Melissa is also an RN. I am an esthetician and wanted to pamper myself while on vacation. Helen was my esthetician she was very pleasant and did a wonderful job on my facial. She was very professional helped me feel relaxed and beautiful. I definitely plan on coming back when I come into town.

Went to Melissa for laser hair removal and it was great! I moved to Nashville after starting laser hair removal in Chicago and Melissa picked up right where my treatment left off and let me purchase only as many treatments as I needed. It was great, can’t wait to go back for a more «fun» service!

I went to see Helen Gaye for my first-​ever set of lash extensions and I couldn’t be more pleased! The process takes some time and you have to keep your eyes closed throughout, which could have made for a pretty boring experience, but Helen Gaye and I had a wonderful conversation which kept me entertained. My lashes look fabulous and my eye makeup routine is a snap with the extensions! Helen Gaye gave me plenty of information on how to care for the extensions to lengthen their lifespan and her advice must have worked because I had heard that the extensions typically last about 2 weeks, but mine are still going strong after 3 weeks! I’m looking forward to going back for a fill-​in when I need it. I would highly recommend this service with Helen Gaye!

I went to see Ann for my skin. I’ve always had terrible acne since I was 13 or so. I’ve done the dermatologist route with antibiotics and such, but it never has worked for me. I lived in Los Angeles for a couple of years and was able to find an esthetician who did wonders for my skin. With my recent move to Nashville, I’ve been on the hunt to find another miracle worker. I stumbled upon Glow through Unilocal and saw all the great reviews for Ann. I made an appointment with her for the same day! Which I was really impressed I was able to do that as a new client. Immediately after meeting Ann, she made me feel 100% comfortable and at ease. I explained my whole history with my skin, including my LA experience. She went over a whole maintenance schedule I can do with her and at home right away. She is very knowledgeable and she really listened to me about everything I do and do not like. When going over the different treatments and products, I never once got the impression she was out to make money. The treatment I originally went in for, which cost $ 75, she had recommended I don’t have that treatment done just yet and instead do a different treatment she thought would work better with my skin, which cost $ 60! I was thrilled to see she really is thinking about your skin first and foremost. When it came to her working on me, she was fantastic! Ann was very informative about everything she was going to do to my face and let me know what I should be feeling. Also, she took her time, which was super nice to see. I will be a forever customer at this rate! I am so excited to have found another miracle worker! And after just one visit, my skin already feels and looks healthier and better. Thanks Ann!

I saw Ann at Glow for laser hair removal. She was really wonderful with the intake questions (first-​timer here), and made me feel really comfortable. She prepared me well for what was about to happen, and it was a great first experience. Mild and pleasant. Also, you have to feel good about an aesthetician whose skin looks like a baby’s. That’s the best business card you could have. I wouldn’t trust an aesthetician with broken out splotchy skin just like I wouldn’t trust a personal trainer who is overweight. And shockingly, the latter actually happens! Thanks, Ann!

I’ve been a client of Melissa’s for over a year now at GlowSkin Care. I have been extremely pleased with my laser hair removal results and their services. Laser hair removal for Black Americans (and others with darker skin) don’t always end with good results. Melissa answers all of my questions and concerns. I haven’t had any negative side effects. only improvements. I also enjoy her facials/​microderms! Very relaxing and effective. I get compliments on my clear and GLOing skin every day. I don’t trust easily for my beauty needs, but Melissa has my full trust!
Also, I’ve never waited longer than 5 minutes. They are always very accommodating with their appointments.

This review is for Ann, the aesthetician at Glow. I got the Red Carpet treatment — that was the actual name of the service, not a description of the level of customer service (although it wasn’t necessarily NOT red carpet treatment) but I digress-​which included dermaplanning and an alpha beta peel as well as the typical hydration mask and extractions.
If you don’t know, dermaplanning is the process by which the aesthetician takes a small blade and literally scrapes the dry skin and excess facial hair off your face. It’s a deep exfoliation and a great alternative to waxing your face for the hairy ladies who have to deal with that whole thing (of which I’m one…*sigh*). Considering the fact that someone is holding a knife to your face and gently scraping, it’s pretty important that said person be experienced with this service or you’re going to wind up looking like you got a facial at Attica.
Luckily, Ann was as skilled with the blade as she was with the rest of the service. She also provided a lot of local knowledge and answered my myriad questions about where to go and who to see (I moved to Nashville from LA not long ago and I’m still in search mode) with enthusiasm.
Between my giddiness at finding a great aesthetician and finding free parking right across the street from the salon (suck it LA!) I was more than happy to pay her reasonable service price AND walk out of there clutching two (great) products she recommended.
I’m incredibly picky about beauty service providers, but I can honestly say that I really liked Ann and her services and I’ll definitely be going back to her when I’m due for another facial.
Again, I would absolutely recommend HER, but if you’re the type of person that needs a lot of chic spa/​salon ambiance this might not be the world’s best choice. I’m sort of that person, so I can’t say I was super in love with the overall ambiance of the hair salon Glow is a part of.
But, to be fair, it is a small place in East Nashville that is primarily a neighborhood hair salon so I’m not going to harp on it. Just don’t expect a red carpet… just the Red Carpet Treatment.

I used to get a ton of facials when I lived in NYC and have been looking for a solid one since moving to Nashville — I found it in Melissa at Glow. She was friendly, knowledgable, and just a real pleasure. She was super nice in answering my questions and telling me what she suggests.
If you are looking to get the job done and do not care about the spa atmosphere, I highly suggest going to Melissa. I’ll be back… again and again.

I have been going to Ann Manning for my skin care needs for years and I am so happy she recently moved to Glow. I have also seen Melissa several times and she is great as well. I went to see Ann recently to get a Vi peel I had seen a promotion for. Ann explained to me that it was kind of a re-​set button for your skin– it’s supposed to improve texture, reduce acne spots and scars, lighten any dark or red spots. She also said my face would peel ALOT on the third and fourth days so I planned my visit around my 2 days off. Sooo glad she told me that part! This peel was AMAZING!!! I have some acne scarring on my cheek and also some red spots from recent acne and these are almost completely gone. My skin is so soft and smooth and I have had so many compliments in the past week! People tell me I look refreshed and how great my skin looks and how I don’t have any wrinkles (I’m 34)!!! The peel really worked! It was a little more money than I am used to paying for a peel but it came with a small kit of moisturizer and spf and was totally worth the price. I would reccomend this to anyone. I have always trusted my skin to Ann and will continue to do so for many years to come. Thanks Ann!!!

I’ve been seeing Ann Manning for years, and I love the way she makes me look. Great brows, very understated (bc I’m a guy), and absolutely incredible bedside demeanor. So glad she’s at Glow!

I went to see the terrific ladies at GLOW salon. I was getting treatment #4 of a lasering of a regrettable name tattoo. The Nurse laser operator was super sweet: non judgmental, very warm and friendly, very patient, and not at all rushed.
She explained the procedure, used a cooling air treatment instead of ice cubes, and the pain was decreased significantly. At the end of the procedure, she asked me what I thought I should pay, what I was «used to paying». She then gave me a price that was $ 50 lower!!! Amazing salon, amazing service, very competent and sanitary beautiful space, and excellent staff.
