Studio Green Organic Salon & Spa

Booked an afternoon appointment with Kassy for a standard cut to take my mane from shapeless to shapely. Brought some photos from Pinterest to facilitate the process.
Arrived to the salon just on time (which is late– aim for ten minutes before your appointment for quick paperwork!). FYI– it’s around the corner from Kali Yuga Yoga in the same building!
Loved the wash, got enough info about new-​to-​me shampoo, conditioner, and styling products to be intrigued but nothing that felt like pressure. I did make a couple small purchases!
Precision scissor work left my hair feeling healthy and cared for. Ultimately, the cut is shorter than my vision (cue: disappointment) but I am confident it will grow out to a lovely shape! Please note that I didn’t try to interject during the cut itself re: length and chaulk up my disappointment to a communication fail.
I would recommend this place! Esp for the eco-​conscious, & displaced west coasters! LGBTQQIA friendly.

This place is so great! Lexx is the best! She takes her time, is super friendly and extremely talented. A great experience if I do say so myself.

Perfect atmosphere for a salon, and free from chemical odors, as per their mission statement. I have gotten 2 great cuts from Jesse, who never even mentioned or pushed any hair products on me (my biggest pet peeve about salons). I even sent my ex husband in for a great cut and color! Absolutely worth the price, try it out.

I came in a few months ago for a cut and color, and Kassy gave me the best haircut I have had in a long time. She was very personable — chatty but not too chatty and super helpful when discussing what exactly I wanted to do with my hair. It is a little bit of a drive for me so I haven’t yet been back, but for those considering Studio Green I would definitely recommend it!

Studio Green arrived just in time. Last winter I was overcome with grief at a horrid haircut I received from a local hairstylist in town. To say the least she didn’t cut hair evenly and highlights were all messed up. I was referred by my mother to Jeff at Studio Green. I am all for natural things especially when they work!
I went to Jeff and he fixed my haircut and highlights — but not only did he revitalize the look of my hair but strengthened the health of my hair as well. My hair is the longest it has ever been now and is so healthy thanks to Jeff and Studio Green.
He and his dedicated team also did us the honor in doing my hair and makeup for my wedding day this past June as well as my entire bridal party. Everyone was super happy about their look-​as was I! They will cater to your request and truly make you a happy customer. I can’t say enough good things about Studio Green. There are other so called «green» salons in town – but TRUST me this is the only one to go to!

I went this past weekend for a facial and it was amazing! Christina took the time to talk with me about my concerns, my routine, and my ‘goals.’
The facial, itself, I always find relaxing and this was no different.
Afterward, Christina debriefed me on what she found, praised my routine, and ONLY suggested products when I asked about what else I should be doing. I have had facials in the past wherein the aesthetician tried to sell products before, during, and after the treatment and I can’t stand it! This was such a positive experience and I will be incorporating these facials into my beauty regimen.
Finally, I am a vegan and finding a spa with vegan products was of primary importance. All of the products used are vegan and organic.

I shamefully haven’t posted a review of Studio Green before now. I went wanting to strip the bottle black that i had for yours. That day, I remember Jeff spending much of the day with me but he ended up discovering this autumn vibe that I go to him now regularly for. He is also good at picking up on little things — like whether or not you need a little something something. In this case, some bright red. I was feeling it but always good when the client and the color stylist understand.
I’ve been to Christina now twice. I’m not even entirely sure how to describe her voo doo but it good go do the voo doo that she doo. I feel refreshed, toned and walks you through she is doing during the facial. She awesome. See her now.

Granted, for a men’s cut, it’s between $ 30 – 40, but it was definitely the best haircut I’ve ever had. And the place is classy too. You come in, sign in, they offer you a drink (beer, wine, water, tea) before you get your cut, and then they do an awesome job. Lisa was my stylist and did so much more than I expected for a haircut. I love it though, and I’m definitely going to be a regular at this place.

I’ve went for a facial last year w/​Christina and it was great, very relaxing and the service was perfect– my skin was clear for weeks, and the salon/​spa is smaller than some but you get more personal service. It’s also very clean, and inviting. I went recently for a Brazilian waxing after I bought a voucher on Groupon, with Christina again, and I will be a total repeat customer! I have a treatment scheduled for next week too. She really eased my nerves about my waxing, and was honest that some people cannot make it through, but I did because she was very easy to talk to and… gentle, I guess? Ha. This a great place for East Nashville.

so Rebekah has since left studio green and set up her own shop at RB Massage Therapy… and I of course I go where ever she floats to to relieve my post adventure tensions…

I went into Studio Green for a massage that my lady and I bought through Groupon. It’s been and extremely long time since I had a massage, so this was a much needed purchase.
The booking process was on the more difficult side, but I’m assuming it’s because of the Groupon and cant imagine that it’s like that all the time.
After arriving at their location in East Nashville, I was offered a drink and asked to fill out some paper work. After waiting for a few minutes I was introduced to the massage therapist. I talked to her for a few minutes to go over what was hurting and we got right into the massage.
This was the most intense (in a good way) massage that I have ever had. There were points in the massage where I felt like I was actually going to pass out. But, I knew if I made it through all the pain, I would be a lot better off. If you need someone to work out all your kinks, call and make an appointment immediately.

Best haircut EVER! I am officially naming Jesse as my new stylist. I am putting my trust and style in his capable hands.
I called on a Thursday morning and was able to get in the same day in the afternoon. When I showed up, I was impressed with the open and fashionable space. I was offered water, tea, or wine. I went with a glass of wine. It was a great touch. They also had good music playing.
I was seen quickly and told Jesse all about what I was looking for, and my usual haircare practices. He offered a few ideas and they were all great. I decided not to stray too much since curly hair can often become a mess and it was our first time together.
When he took me to shampoo, I was sold. He gave me the best head massage ever. He took his time and put all the right pressure in all the right places. He is not a head rubbing amateur. Those fingers were magic. For the conditioner, he gave me a hot towel to put over my face. I melted in all the best ways possible.
Then on to the cut. He dove in and skillfully crafted a great cut all while having a good conversation and asking for input on length. It ended up great. I was very happy. I also learned of a few places in town that I need to check out.
The best part of all this? Everything is vegan and organic! I feel like it was a match made in heaven.
When I went to pay, I was shocked that I was only charged $ 30. I threw on a $ 10 tip and went on my happy way. I expected it to be much more. I have paid way more for much lower quality cuts.
The only improvement would be about the distinction of men’s vs women’s cuts. It is a big pet peeve of mine. I wish there could be a gender neutral way of delineating between the amount of time needed to cut hair. Short hair vs long? Everyone on the gender spectrum needs haircuts.
In short, I had an amazing experience at Studio Green. I will be back in six weeks for my scheduled cut. You wil not go wrong here. They will treat you well. Your hair will look great. They even give facials and massages. That will happen at some point.

Hidden in East Nashville near Rumours East — not sure if I would’ve ever found this without a Living Social deal pointing me here. Location — high ceilings, modern feeling, vibrant employees, music playing throughout the establishment.
Had the 60-​minute massage with Rebekah. She has good techniques and really helped me relax throughout my massage so much that I fell asleep. I felt relaxed afterwards and enjoyed the overall experience.
The room is a bit small but similar in size and set-​up to those of Adagio and Trace Retreat.

This place is fabulous! I went here for a massage and I would say one of the best massages I’ve had. The 60 minutes went by way to fast but I did enjoy every second of it. The girl who gave me the massage, massaged my head and face as part of the massage — particularly the sinus area on my face which was through the roof! I suffer from sinus issues and this was one of the most amazing techniques I’ve had done during a massage. I was melting like butter! If I could only get massages on a regular basis I would go often.
The only remote comment I would have to say is if you are looking for a «spa» ambiance it really doesn’t have that feel. The room they do the massages in is really tiny and was a little cool temperature wise but once you were laying down none of that matters. I could careless about «ambiance» when I’m receiving a fabulous massage! They charge $ 80 for a 60 minute massage which I think is a little on the high side, however I would go back! I just couldn’t go on a regular basis or as much as I would love to go!

How lucky are we in Nashville to have a beautiful salon and spa that is dedicated to providing services using organic, eco-​friendly, and vegan products?
So. Lucky.
I just recently learned of Studio Green because I heard about their 1 year anniversary as an East Nashville business. (Congrats!) After seeing a facial special posted on one of their social networking channels for $ 45, I decided to give them a whirl.
Their space is clean and modern and located in a cute development up the street from Five Points. Far East, Wax Nashville, and Kali Yuga Yoga are all neighbors. The staff was friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my facial very much.
Some other services that are offered include waxing, makeup application, lash and eyebrow tinting, massage, manicures, and a full service hair salon.
Prices are fair with a manicure priced around $ 25 and a 60 minute massage at $ 80.
I will definitely treat myself to some pampering from Studio Green again!

I had a facial with Christina and it was top 3 best I’ve ever had! Super relaxing, all the products she used smelled awesome and Christina was super knowledgeable about skin care. Plus my skin looks and feels amazing — 3 days later! I would definitely go back to her for a facial and recommend her to my friends.

i visited a couple of weeks ago and got a cut and color. The place is very chic and upscale feeling but it’s your normal East Nasty laid back friendly atmosphere which is good for me. The shampoo part was delicious, wonderful smells, scalp massage, and an extra treatment to purify my hair. The color product was indeed natural and there was absolutely no chemical smells in the entire place. I enjoyed the whole process and was very happy with my color and cut. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that I have had better cuts BUT I want to make sure to say that it was a good cut and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I have had cuts before that «grow out» really well especially with short hair and this one maybe isn’t to that caliber but again, it’s a very good cut.

I just had a signature facial, peel and massage from Christina — WOW! I feel relaxed, rejuvenated and most of all PRETTY! She took her time to find out the right products for my skin and bonus — they are all organic. I now feel ready for my brother’s upcoming wedding and lots of pictures of my face. :)

Let’s get this straight: I hate having my hair cut. I will recruit my friends and family to cut my hair first before walking into a salon, but this time I thought I could use a professional cut.
The reason why I hate this task is because I thick, curly hair and every stylist (at least at Great Clips/​Super Cuts/​etc.) has their own opinion about it. They either want to straighten it, make layers, color it, anything and everything. I don’t understand why I would pay someone to do something that *I* want and I get bombarded with their own suggestions.
Anyway, that’s not how it is with Studio Green. First of all, the place smells wonderful. Very floral and fruity, less on the chemical/​burnt hair smell. My stylist, Jesse, was very accommodating and kept a friendly conversation going. For once, I was pleased with my cut and felt good about helping the environment!
The prices may be a little more expensive, but you do get what you pay for here and it’s not that much more than any of their non-​organic competitors.

Studio Green put a notice on our local listserv about a facial special, and i immediately made an appointment. i arrived to find a beautiful sleek and bright location with a friendly welcome. i had booked a facial with ginger, and she was running right on time.
they use all organic products, and the facial room was comfortable and private. ginger was fantastic, skilled and knowledgeable and also easy to talk with and just plain awesome in her work (and i’ve had a lot of facials in a lot of places over the years).
the organic products were great, they smelled good and worked even better. ginger said what she used on me was european, where the standards for organic are even higher than here. lip wax was only ten bucks, and they’re going to be adding organic lash and brow tints, too.
so if you’re in the neighborhood, or even if you’re not, check ‘em out. i’ll most definitely make this a part of my routine.
