Hot Yoga Plus

I’m addicted. All I want to do is hot yoga. It’s a problem, but I’ll take it. These are the kind of problems I want to have.
The Nashville space is located above IHOP. Trust me, you can’t smell the pancakes. I have tried. They have two rooms: hot and power. The hot room has a padded floor and the Hot 26 classes are typically offered there. The power room is smaller, but just as homey and relaxing. Saturday power flow is my happy place. Because hot yoga (and yoga in general) seems to have hit the hot list (you like that?) it can get packed. Don’t worry, just slide over and say «Ommm.»
The teachers are all wonderful and each class is different. The restorative is so calm, the Tuesday night power flow is pretty energizing. They also do Hot HIIT (high intensity integral training). It’s only 30 minutes, but holy moly, I couldn’t walk for a week after. I plan on going back after the Nashville Half Marathon.
You can rent mats, mat towels, and/​or bath towels. The locker rooms are clean and they have two showers available with soap.
If you are looking for a yoga studio, I suggest giving this place a try. They offer a free first class or a $ 30 day two week all you can yoga package. This is what I did. You may want to bounce around to see which studio works best for you, but in your travels, give this one a whirl.

I had tried hot yoga at a few studios in DC and in Nashville before finding Hot Yoga Plus. This is the first place where I started to really «get it.» The verbal cues and the physical adjustments that HYP instructors (particularly Adam) provide are so much more helpful — both as a beginner and as I started to grow in my practice — than any of the other studios I had been to and have been to since.
The studio offers an array of yoga classes (vinyasa flow, hot 26, and a great fusion of the two) throughout the day, which made it very easy to find times regardless of my schedule for the day. I tended to take the Hot 26 and Hot 26 fusion classes which are taught in their large studio, which was spacious so I never felt it was overcrowded. I took a vinyasa class or two, which are often in the smaller room, and sometimes that could feel a little more cramped depending on the time of day. The space was meticulously cleaned and likely as a result never smelled (I’ve been to many hot yoga studios — some are rank). Large parking garage in the back — never had trouble finding a spot to park and didn’t have to find street parking or pay a meter.
Staff was superb. They were friendly. They knew you. They were helpful.
I even took a paddle board yoga class with HYP and it was great. Highly recommend! It removes the fear of falling when you are trying new things, like shoulder stands or arm balances.

What an amazing yoga experience! Taylor is an incredible instructor — knowlegeable, creative, patient — fabulous. Amazing way to end my busy day! Then I went to Avo for dinner! YUM

This is one of my favorite studios in town! Take Nikki’s class– she’s fantastic, her guiding techniques/​quotes are uplifting, and she has an overall great energy. Not to mention, she always has the best playlist!

You guys… this is my 300^th review! Holy cow! And for this special occasion I have chosen to review Hot Yoga Plus, because it was quite an amazing experience.
Disclaimer: I cannot yoga. Seriously, I am not bendy at all. It hasn’t stopped me from trying, not from looking like a total fool, but I refuse to give up! And I have found a studio that supports those efforts.
Hot Yoga off Elliston is a beautiful and welcoming facility. Yoga is intimidating to those of us who cannot do it so well. I was especially nervous about doing it at a place where the room is heated (hence, you know, HOT yoga). I had visions of me passing out from sweating too much, and really embarrassing myself, but truthfully I’ve been outside in Tennessee summers that were way worse. Don’t get me wrong, you SWEAT, but its not unbearable. So don’t let the «hot» part sway you.
The instructors are wonderful. So very sweet, helpful, encouraging… I felt very cheered on through every pose without being singled out. Everyone in the studio is focused on themselves and their forms, so you really don’t need to worry about someone looking at you funny because you can’t bring your feet over your head. The poses are thoroughly explained and demonstrated, so you can follow along easily. Its very peaceful really, and they managed to remove a lot of my personal fears about attempting yoga.
They have great packages to fit any budget too, such as single classes passes or class bundles. They offer so many classes a day as well, so its easy to work into your schedule. I loved everything about this place, and cannot wait to continue my yoga journey (and maybe actually get good at it!) at a place that really encourages its members to only do what they can while improving every time. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to try yoga as a first timer or as someone with lots of experience looking for a great place to practice. Its an amazing facility!

Love this place! They offer so many different classes, times and instructors… gotta try paddle board yoga too. They offer this on Saturdays during summer.

Went here this morning for my first hot yoga class. The instructor (wish I could recall her name) was outstanding! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging! I loved the whole experience even though every pore on my body was sweating profusely! But hey, I knew that is what hot yoga is all about! Reason I didn’t give 5 stars — website needs to indicate that mats are available for a $ 3 fee for us out-​of-​owners or true newbies to yoga.

This is a nice, clean studio with sweet, dedicated instructors. There always seems to be enough classes on the schedule for me to squeeze in a class.
I can’t say enough how much I love having windows in a studio to look out of during savasana!

Took a couple of great classes here. More antiseptic than Shakti, and clean and industrial. Big studio with a real locker room/​showers. They offer the widest range of hot yoga styles in Nashville with lots of time options. It does appear to be the priciest hot yoga date though…

I was previously a bit of a hot yogaphobe, but after practicing at HYP for nearly two years, consider me a total convert. A reformed long distance runner, I turned to hot yoga to fit both cardio and strength training needs. And now, if I miss a few days, I seriously go into withdrawal. What I love about HYP is not only the variety of classes (vinyasa, 26 series, a fantastic fusion flow that combines both), but the superb instructors, a perfect mix of expertise and approachability.
There is literally a class to fit every schedule (I LOVE the new 7:15am class! Perfect for earlybirds who like to sleep in a little), and I’m constantly humbled by how challenging even a familiar series can be on any given day — there is always work to be done, and to grow in such an encouraging and pleasant environment makes HYP a studio that is friendly to all levels. None of that prissy yoga attitude here — HYP is a true community. I usually practice at the Elliston location, but I also like the Brentwood one, which offers non-​hot classes.
I can’t speak highly enough for what my HYP practice does for my health and my sanity. In addition to having the opportunity to grow my practice, I’ve made incredible friends through my time spent at the studio.

I was in town for the day from out of state and was a drop in. Even though I was running late, the instructor was very accommodating and friendly. The first thing I noticed upon entering the studio was how clean it was; crucial in a hot yoga environment where high heat can be a breeding ground for bacteria if the facilities are not maintained. The class was challenging but not over he top and the instructor was very encouraging. Would definitely go back!

Loved Hot Yoga Plus! I am super excited to have a new hot yoga place in Nashville. Everyone was really nice and they have a variety of different classes. Can’t wait to keep going. They have a new to nashville special, 2 weeks unlimited for $ 30!!!

I have so many positive things to say about Hot Yoga Plus that I don’t know where to start. I’ve visited the Nashville, Cool Springs, and Brentwood studios. Each are inviting, empowering, and uplifting. The instructors are professional, humorous, well-​educated and bring their own encouraging edge to each class they teach.
I was introduced to HYP through a Groupon offer a few years ago at a time when my work/​life balance was nonexistent. HYP taught me to take an hour/​hour and a half for me/​myself/​I each day to let the stress GO! Although my work situation has changed, I still find myself attending classes and sweating out my frustrations. The schedules are very accommodating for any busy schedule. Go ahead, give it a try!

I was first introduced to Hot Yoga Plus through a Groupon offer almost 3 years ago. Little did I know, that offer would — quite literally — change my life! In the past three years, I have grown to love yoga and what it has done to my mind, body, and spirit. The HYP studio is run brilliantly: the instructors are professional and well-​trained, but each brings their own personality and «feel» to their class. The studio welcomes feedback and suggestions, but stands true to their core principals. The staff is friendly and helpful, the studio is clean, the offered classes are accommodating to any schedule, and the yoga experience is awesome every single time. I’m a huge fan and would recommend the HYP experience to anyone looking to strengthen their mind and body.

I have been a student at Hot Yoga Plus for 2 years. The heat, the meditation, and the teachers all make this a wonderful workout for both the body and the mind. You just feel better once you’ve done a Hot 26 or a Power Flow class. I would recommend yoga to anyone and I would recommend Hot Yoga Plus!

Hot Yoga Plus is a great studio with kind, helpful & inspiring instructors. I’m new to hot yoga, about 15 classes in & I love it! It’s awesome. They have a great schedule w a variety of classes & times so I can always make something work. I’m still learning and each class I go to, I’m really glad I went afterwards. The people in the classes seem really nice as well.

I’ve been coming to HYP since June 2013. I came hesitantly after a foot injury had me stop running for a while, and I came at the recommendation of a coworker. (Luckily, my office is across the street!). Nearly seven months later, I’m still an avid attendee. There’s absolutely nothing like the feeling of working your body to places it’s never been before through other exercises. The heat in the hot room is normally perfect (every once in a while it’ll be a little too warm for me) and the smaller room is never too warm or too cold. The teachers are all wonderful. I haven’t had one that I dislike. Of course, not every teacher will have the teaching style that works with you personally, but there are so many offerings that you can really find SOMETHING here that works! I highly recommend HYP if you are interested in starting a yoga journey or considering attending this studio. Namaste!

I started coming here while in Nashville for work. I usually attended the evening classes but also attended a few of the morning classes as well. Everyone at the studio is really nice and will help you if you are new to Yoga. I really like the facility and the studio was always clean. Lindsay is my Favorite and her Tuesday night class will make you want to cry and laugh all at the same time.
I really wish that they Hot Yoga Plus would open a place in Chicago… I really miss taking classes there!

I originally signed up for the 2 week unlimited deal they had going on a couple months ago… went every day and was completely hooked! The studio is super clean, calm, inviting, and well-​designed. I wanted to be there. The instructors (specifically Adam and Josh… faves!) were super attentive and well-​versed. I let every instructor that I practiced with know that I was new to yoga and told them to not be shy about correcting me. They were all incredibly helpful!
After my two weeks was up, I started to shop around a little and see if I could find a studio that was a little less expensive. I tried two other studios and was sorely disappointed after my amazing 2 weeks at Hot Yoga Plus. I decided that it was the place for me and went back… I’ll never leave! Totally worth the money. Love the instructors, the location (I have only been to their Nashville studio), and the people there. A great environment with extremely talented staff.
Can’t say enough good things about Hot Yoga Plus! Can’t wait for my Hot 26 class tomorrow… bringing a friend visiting from out of town with me.

Of the negative reviews here, I must say: Sometimes we get so attached to an expectation — such as a comparison between our favorite studio and trying out a new studio — that we forget to do a logical analysis before writing a review and thus are driven by emotional expectations, not logic. So, lets be logical (non-​biased) here and not rate a yoga studio based on personal practice or personal experience with one class somewhere new.
This is one of the best hot yoga studios I have found and would highly recommend HYP to anyone starting out in yoga or looking to continue their practice because of the following reasons: The yoga instructors I have practiced with appreciate the diversity and complexity of intentions and conditions among their students; they create a space that is supportive of whomever shows up for their class; they are an active listener and tune into their students while entertaining the possibility of learning something new from each and every student; they are skilled, informed, safe and always teach with honesty and kindness. Also, the facility is always clean and it’s instructor operated, which in my opinion, is an ideal touch for a studio.
The only sub-​par factor is that in the larger classes (those with a more popular time frame), it is difficult to demonstrate attentiveness to form for all students. In the smaller classes this isn’t an issue like it may be in the «know your neighbor» classes. If I could offer a tip to HYP, it would be to have an instructor who isn’t teaching the class walk around and correct students if their form isn’t what it needs to be.
As a business, it’s clear that HYP encourages their customers, as students, to find the simplest path to being stable and comfortable in their practice, guiding and encouraging them to explore going more deeply into it all.

I’m not a yoga addict, but I’ve practiced on and off over the last 10 years for fun and exercise. I had been curious about Hot Yoga since I first heard about it, but I never got around to trying it until a few weeks ago. I went to the 6am Hot 26 class taught by Emily and I was hooked. I have been back every week since. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this class. It’s the perfect combination of a good yoga workout and serene, dare I say cleansing, experience. I am really turned off by yoga sessions that are super new-​agey, but I appreciate the opportunity for a mindful workout in a calm environment.
The class is also a really great mix of people, both in demographics and level of experience. I am not quite a beginner, but probably a little below average and I don’t feel intimidated or out of place. Everyone is just there to sweat and stretch, which is awesome.
It is hot — like sauna hot. Maybe it’s the native Floridian in me, but I love the heat. It’s definitely not for everyone and there have been one or two times where I had to sit on my mat for a moment before continuing, but the overall effect is very invigorating and refreshing.
The studio itself is really great, too. Every staff member I have interacted with has been friendly and helpful. One thing I really loved was that after my first class no one tried to pressure me into a membership (unlike another hot workout in town, which shall remain nameless unless you read one of my other reviews). They let the quality of the product speak for itself.
I also love that they have a lot of options for attending classes. I am in the middle of training for a race right now, which only leaves me one day a week for yoga. It’s really easy to sign-​up for a 60 minute drop in every week for a mere $ 15. I am already planning to sign-​up for a more extensive membership come November when my race is done.
TL:DR — I love it. If you like yoga and sweating and awesomeness, then this place is for you.

I had laura. As soon as i entered… i didn’t feel welcomed. I felt like i wasn’t «cool», «green» or «yuppie» enough for an exercise/​meditation developed by my ancestors. Sorry i didn’t have a yogi mat or fancy «sham-​wow» towel. Anyways, The point is that the length of the session was worth it but the scenario and the «DON’T LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE» but at your mirror section was just not as helpful as i had hoped.

With this being my third review for Hot Yoga Nashville, I’m sure you’re thinking… «Yea, we get it! You’re a fan of this hot spot…»
So. Very. True.
However, I felt compelled to do another update because I have noticed that with the new ownership many updates and changes that have really made this studio shine.
First off, the new swipe cards really help make the check-​in process super efficient. This is super important to me because I tend to barely slide in on time for classes due to my schedule.
Also, the new round of instructors really are great to add some freshness to the mix. My favorite classes are still led by the inspiring Farina sisters though. I never leave those classes without feeling tough and motivated!
Lastly, the addition of the new (not so hot) Power Room adds a while new lineup of classes including Restorative, Espresso Flow, Yoga Sprouts (for kids), Power Flow, Community Classes, and more!
The introduction of new workshops and great programs like Coats for Classes (Winter coat drive to help the needy) really help bring the HYN community together too.
I am thrilled with my unlimited (auto debit) monthly memberships and truly feel the benefits when I dedicate 3 – 4 times a week to my practice. This payment structure make economic sense as classes can range from $ 15-​$ 10 per class. I basically get my money’s worth in just attending class 4 times in the first week!
