Super friendly staff. Great prices. An absolute must for vinyl enthusiasts and Jack White fans. Lots of fun things to do and see.

Great spot to check out while you’re in Nashville!

If you are a music lover this a great place to go. Obviously the music for sale is limited to what the label releases, but the experience is what makes it all worth it. The people that work here are fantastic and the variety of music that Third Man records is great.

Stop here if you’re a Jack White fan. It’s a quirky, fun little glimpse into his world. You can pick up some beloved vinyl, see some Jack White or White Stripes artifacts, and browse posters and t-​shirts. It’s a bit off the beaten path in Nashville, but worth the trip, particularly if this music is more up your alley than the country playing on Broadway.

As a lover of small record stores and many artists on the Third Man label, Third Man is the tops. I wouldn’t want the store to be any bigger or change a bit! I had fun playing with the mini guitars, monkey band and browsing the records. I purchased some stickers (huge sticker fan, here) and a tee shirt.
I geeked out completely at Third Man and recommend it to anyone traveling near Nashville. Can’t wait for Third Man’s Detroit location!

As Vault Club Member and a Third Man distributer for my record store Santa Ana Spin I have to say it was so epic walking up to this iconic building. As a musician I had to try the Third Man Recording Booth and it is one of the best things in the record shop world! Even if you’re not a musician you can record spoken word or stuff like that! They’re listening booth is one of the best also and you can listen to pretty much any White Stripes album or Third Man artist. It’s a super organized and the staff is very friendly and informative! A must check out store if you’re into the revival of vinyl!

We all love the vinyl, and Jack White has a sweet place to play the music respect! Rare recordings, recording booth, fun music novelties and T-​shirts are awesome.

As a HUGE fan of Jack White and all he does this had to be my first stop when visiting Nashville. It was like going on my journey to the mother land. It’s a small shop but filled with all things awesome. Everything Jack does is high quality, including this shop. There are records, stickers, buttons, tshirts and many other lovely Third Man Items. You can just wander around and look at everything or record yourself in the record booth. Just go there and buy some vinyl.

Fucking awesome. Great collection of records and random stuff to look at. The girls that were working were really sweet and gave my daughter a free puzzle. We bought records & a toddler hoodie. We got the chance to meet Jack the day before at his Walk of Fame thing and we love him and this store and Nashville. You must go here — it’s worth the stop.

As someone who believes in what Jack White is doing, I stopped in because I traveled from NY to see his induction in the Nashville Walk of Fame.
JW is single handedly reviving the vinyl industry and this store represents his complete devotion to this.
The place was crowded with other people who believe. The staff was very busy and did their best to accommodate everyone including people who insisted on taking their time up with chit chat.
I bought a vinyl copy of «Elephant», five 7″ records (I don’t have a record player) and some other things because I believe in this artist and I support him.

If you are a Jack White fan, or simply into vinyl records, this is a great, albeit small, retail store to visit. White Stripes, Dead Weather and Jack’s other bands are represented. There is a recording booth, and predictable novelties and tshirts for sale (better quality than most). Crowded both times I visited, a mecca for local aspiring rock musicians and fans, on skid row, street parking can be a block or more away.

I was visiting Nashville over the weekend (March 2015) and I was so pleased to go to Third Man Records and truly have exactly what I was looking for. The women working there (one gal had blonde two-​toned hair and commented on my hair color) was kind enough to ask if we were visiting and suggested other cool stores in the city. We went to the other places and loved them as well.
But back to TMR, the perks of the listening booth, the unique selection, the décor, the staff, it was all and all perfection! You go here for a reason and they know what it is, so cheers to them for being exactly what a customer, vinyl fan, music fan, weirdo, desires. You know your stuff!

I definitely don’t really ascribe to that vinyl, hipster retro thing, but I do have a special place in my heart for The White Stripes and wonder when The Raconteurs will every get back in the studio again.
Anyway, the four of us went and it was definitely a lot smaller than I imagined especially since the whole space is so large, I was surprised to see that the store space was small. What was inside though was mostly collection of vinyl. A couple of band shirts-​and if you can find something you like in the bargain section it’s a pretty sweet deal.
Despite it being a pretty hipster spot it’s definitely not snooty. The staff there was very friendly and helpful with my friends who wanted to use the vintage photo booth and the guy who wanted to use the recording booth to record a demo. Glad we had time to go see it.

A friend told me I needed to go to Jack White’s record shop, but really, it’s very underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, there’s some cool stuff to look at, but it’s tiny and not worth going out of your way for (unless you really like Jack White).
There’s a lot of White Stripes/​Jack White merch, as well as other records (just one rack of them though).
There’s a cool booth that you can go into and record a song.

A very cool, quirky, off-​beat and trendy vinyl shop. I loved the White Stripes and I love everything Jack White does, which was the main reason I visited the store front. What he is doing for music and vinyl promotion is amazing. Check out his CBS Morning and Dan Rather interviews. I expected it to be an overpriced record store and was delightfully surprised that everything from the trinkets, t-​shirts to the vinyl was reasonably marked. This is a great place for Third Man Records artist items and just a great place to put on your tour of Nashville list. The performing monkey machine is pretty cool along with the old recording booth. They also have live events at TMR.
Also, if you ever get to see Jack White in concert – he is worth every cent! I saw him perform in Nashville with special guest Loretta Lynn and it was the best concert that I have ever been to by far.

The space is small in the store of Third Man Records it is full of unique items. There is an old recording booth where you can still make a record to help you on your way to being the next big name in Nashville (not really because it doesn’t sound great). You can purchase merchandise and albums, the staff are nice and don’t forget to get a picture in front of the cool door.

Tiny but well worth your time– this little shop, a Jack White production that’s part records store, part museum and total shrine to all things Jack & White Stripes, is a great stop near downtown Nashville.
Check out their vinyl selection — heavy on Stripes and friends but with a nice variety of other options as well.
Walk down the hall of gorgeous vinyl — a mini museum with laser cuts, wood, water treated and other beautiful framed albums from Jack, the Stripes and ex wife Karen Elson.
Grab some tokens from the staff and record your own album in the small recording booth (15 tokens), take photos in an actual photo booth (3 tokens) or throw in a quarter to watch the mechanical monkey band play.
This was a kooky and unique way to pass the time, and a great stop for my husband and I (both big Stripes fans).

This place is not very big but definitely unique. Some people might be expecting a big record store and this place is not it. A colleague, who is a big fan of Jack White, wanted to stop by and get some record albums.
We came in after having lunch at the Peg Leg Porker down the corner. The store is laid out beautifully — open and clean. It also have many interesting machines from the past that are still functioning. There’s a small recording studio like a phone booth where you pay to go in and records some music onto a vinyl. A photo booth and a coin-​operated monkey band. A bit of fun carnival nostalgia.
Next door appears to be the Third Man Record’s recording studio with a beautiful metallic door. Visiting a place like this has been most enjoyable.

Sometimes Jack White hangs out here and that is basically all you need to know. His actual studio is next door making this a must see attraction in Nashville.
The space is tiny but jam packed with stuff to do and see adding to the overall thrill. The store is sensory overload in the best sort of way. Everything from the walls to the lights to the clothes the lady working was wearing is black, white or yellow with red accents. Music is blaring and customers are attempting to take it all in. They of course sell a few select records, but they also have lots of third man offerings like shirts, stickers, buttons etc.
There are plenty of activities to do in this pocket sized store as well. You can peruse the hall of Jack White’s records or jump in the phone booth to make a quick call. For 15 tokens, you can record anything you want on a small vinyl record. The booth is only large enough for one person to record at a time. Two kids could potentially fit. 15 tokens is equivalent to $ 15. You can also shed a few tokens to watch a music video. For three tokens, you can get your pics made in the photo booth. This is what my group was wanting to do, but the line was real long so instead I used my three tokens elsewhere. I indeed walked out of Third Man with a wax replica of Jack White’s 1964 Montgomery Ward airline guitar. So yeah, that’s pretty great.
Totally worth checking out and not too far from downtown Nashville.

I love this place! The theme of the facility design is a exciting play on your visual sensory and every detail looks like it was intently picked out to leave the passerby intrigued or bewildered. I recently got to take a private tour (courtesy of Unilocal during its 2014 Spring Break event in Nashville, TN) of the entire facility beyond the lovely shop. During the tour I got to check out everything from beautiful metallic crown moldings, eclectic artworks, furnace elevator, wall mounted animals, vinyl records with liquid inside, and some many other unique sights.
The facility has an analog/​straight to vinyl recording studio that had a huge view of the Blue Room (aka the multi-​purpose music venue where live shows are recorded on site), a dark room for developing pictures, outdoor patio area, massive indoor merchandise/​record shipping area that literally has a quirky road-​side motel theme, a hospital themed company lounge/​break area, and some amazing business offices (including the mysterious Jack White’s office door).
I was a little disappointed that the vinyl recording booth was out the facility for repairs prior to the Jack White and Neil Young appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Show. Despite my dreams of cutting a cheesy record on the go to mail to my parents, I could not complain after finding out about that type of awesome happening. Overall, the tour and visit to the shop was amazing. I plan to come to show at the TMR venue and visit the shop the next time I get a chance!
