It’s another store. I’ve been twice and left empty handed both times. They have a wide variety of things but seem overpriced.

I’m a big fan of thrift stores in general, and Nashville has some fantastic Goodwill stores. This ‘N That is a thrift store run by volunteers with proceeds going to St. Luke’s Community House. I had never heard of it until I read Ms. Cheap’s column in the Tennessean mentioning it. She made it sound like it was a secret place that people who knew about it didn’t want to make others aware of its presence. Ahem. Well, here’s the scoop. It’s kind of tiny; not that much inventory. It’s not open all that often, so make sure you check the hours.(I’ve added them to this listing for you.) However, you can score some good bargains and there are some nicer items. In truth, I’m usually looking at men’s clothes, home goods, and books. I’d say 75% of my books are used. This ‘N That’s selection is not fantastic in the book department. The men’s clothes selection is very small as well and some of the stuff had obvious rips or marks on it. However, I did find a nice Banana Republic sweater for only $ 2.00 which is much cheaper than what you would pay at Goodwill. And they didn’t charge me tax for some reason that I didn’t fully understand, but what’s not to like about that? Like I said, there are also some nicer pieces. Some glassware and china. There’s also some jewelry in a case up front. It’s a lot cleaner and slightly more organized store than elsewhere. Ms. Cheap’s column made it sound like the women’s clothes selection was great. I could understand that. I’m sure it gets some quality items in because of its location in West Nashville. I would say check it out if you’re in the neighborhood. If you’re a thrift store goer, there are plenty of stores on Charlotte Ave. you can hit, then swing by This ‘N That.
