Pegan Cove Trail is a great area for a quick hike, run or dog walk. Located just off of Washington Street, it is only a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The trail is pretty short, going for about 1.5 miles and looping. There is very little incline and no boulders to climb. We were impressed with how well-maintained it was, seeing as how it’s the height of summer and ticks are NOT anything we want to run into. The trail is mostly dirt, grass and pine needles. Our short-legged dog was able to navigate the course with no trouble.(Make sure you bring poop bags if you’re bringing your dog. It is a very nice and clean trail)
