Enterprise Rent-A-Car

My insurance company set up a reservation for me (rental had to be $ 30 or less per day). The day of pick up I called in the morning to make sure everything was ready for me when i got there to pick up my car. I was told that I’d be paying out of pocket; however, that was incorrect since my insurance was to cover car rental costs. I called my insurance to clear that up and they sent in another confirmation to Enterprise. When I got to Enterprise, everything was going smoothly until the guy showed me rental options, all of which I had to pay the difference between the allowable rate from my insurance company. I didn’t want any of these cars as I just needed something to get me around and something $ 30 or less. The guy said they didn’t know I was coming in, therefore, there was no car reserved for me and that these were the only options. They had no cars that were $ 30/​day or less and couldn’t find anything at other locations. At that point I started to get frustrated since this issue was just eating into my time. I was going to call my insurance company to let them know nothing was available at the rental place they referred me to, but the manager, Daniella, intervened and rectified the problem right away. She saw two reservations for me in their system, which contributed to the mix-​up. Long story short, she ended up giving me one of the more expensive vehicles at no extra cost. I didn’t even have to argue about it. She gave me a Suburban, which I really didn’t want, but it was one of the few that was readily available. She said she’d call me as soon as a more economical vehicle became available. A few days later I got a call from Daniella letting me know of an availability. I came back, swapped vehicles, and went on my way without any issues.

Worst car rental office I’ve ever had the opportunity to do business with. This review is actually two-​fold, it’s a review for Enterprise’s call center as well as their National City location. We needed an economy rental during the last week of November. I specifically requested an economy equivalent vehicle since it was an rental paid by our insurance which couldn’t be over $ 25/​day. I was told by the call center that this location had a vehicle that suited my needs, and would be held for me. As soon as we arrive, my customer service rep loudly repeats my home address, phone number, and other personal information which could be overheard by just about everyone in the waiting room area. Then we go out to the lot to be shown the vehicles I could select and I asked whether those vehicles were in the economy class and was politely told no, but I could pay the difference and leave the lot with a lot nicer car. I explained that an economy sized vehicle was supposedly held for me per their call center, as I didn’t know how long I would be using that rental vehicle. Well, the old bait-​and-​switch just got thrown at me, and they didn’t feel the slightest bit of guilt for making me drive all the way there thinking I had an economy vehicle reserved, since they just thought they could coerce me into paying them extra each day I was without my totaled vehicle.
I call to their call center to file a complaint, and they transfer me right back to the customer service rep whom I was primarily complaining about. I finally get a Enterprise Call Center Supervisor to call me back and take my complaint, and they told me it would be forwarded to the area’s District Manager so this issue could be promptly addressed. To this day, has any Enterprise manager called me? No. In mid-​December, I get a call from their customer feedback to see what I thought about their customer service from an Enterprise location I patronized immediately after my terrible experience at their National City location. I gave them great feedback, then I told them about my terrible experience at the other location. Again, my name, phone #, and e-​mail address was taken and told that a manager would be in touch with me to discuss the issue I had back in November. Think anyone from Enterprise has called me to this day (1÷6÷16)? Not one person has given me a call or sent me an e-​mail… Not one. Guess they don’t care to hear about issues to improve their service. Thank goodness Enterprise isn’t the only rental car business in town.

I have to give credit where credit is due!!! My insurance has a contract with Enterprise, so I was left with no other option for my rental.
This location by far exceeds customer service! My first contact was with Edgar, who made arrangements for my pickup and rental. He made this process as easy and was very accommodating. Thank you Edgar!
But, my pick up driver, was the best! He not only picked me up on time but had to take me back home because I forgot my card to pay with! I don’t know of anyone who would do this without being bothered. John is a true example of outstanding service.

Man, this place is the worst. This is going to be a bit of a read but just go down the street to somewhere else on broadway!!!
I had just got into a car accident and a family member hooked me up with a discount rate but the catch was I had to have the damage protection which was extra $$. My insurance told me they would not reimburse me for that so I booked a car here, close to my work so I could sign a new contract at normal price without the damage protection so I could be reimbursed.
The guy who «Helped» me was just ridiculous. He didn’t understand what, «I’m here to update my new reservation, I already completed one online» meant. And when I told him I didn’t want the damage protection he told me, «Well what are you stupid?» Man, I’m a hot headed person and if there weren’t children around he probably would have gotten cussed out. From there I asked to just keep my car I already had since all my stuff was in it and he said no. I asked why since my insurance said it was fine to do that just to request it from enterprise and he stated, «It’s probably already rented out and we’re in charge, not them» and started laughing. uhhh if you didn’t know I was turning a car in, how could it be rented out already? You’re an absolute idiot. I tell him to show me what’s available and he shows me this versa and literally the inside of the car is STAINED, and has cans and cigarettes on the floor and a lighter on the drivers seat. I turned and lost it. «Are you f***ing kidding me? You’re really going to give me this POS?» His response was, oh we probably didn’t clean it yet, do you want it or not. By this time I was already SOOOOO pissed off that I just knew I was going to start cussing everyone out at the place so I paid the extra bucks to keep my car and left. (He also had to ask me twice to look up the confirmation # on my email because he didn’t know how to find it on the computer) A bunch of rude amateurs douchebags here. Spend your money elsewhere. I didn’t even drop the car off here when I was done, it was that trashy of a spot.

Had made a reservation in Chula Vista Office honored me the 9.99 special but as I was ready to leave with my car declined it as they did not have my car preference other cars available but unable to rent, one the alarm did not work and another one was too filthy and the 3^rd was too small never did they try to see if any other office had it so instead went to National City office they did not honored my $ 9.99 special reservation done previously but were very helpful and gave me my car preference Hyundai Elantra. They are willing to go an extra mile for you and try to accomodate to your needs the best they can. Thank you!

I don’t normally write bad reviews but man, these guys’ service is pretty bad.
Anytime I call they like to play hot potato to see whos gonna be helping you out. Like seriously, it’s probably more work throwing around the potato than just taking it.
Rented a car for one of my family members and took me like a week til they finally had some availability. I wouldn’t mind waiting a week, but it’s that they never tell you when they’ll have it. It’s just a «check back tomorrow». Pretty frustrating. They gotta get more organized.

My car was suddenly down with an engine repair, so I called AAA and they towed it for me. They also helped me out with getting a rental through Enterprise, National City. They came to pick me up at home, very friendly and courteous, very good rate. I was on my way in no time. Thanks for a great service. No problems.

I’ve used Enterprise on many occasions and found them all more than satisfactory. Recently I rented from the Nat’l City office since I needed a car while my car was being repaired. They picked me up and dropped me off at the repair shop right on schedule.
Good rates, good car, excellent service. My only issue was that the car had no windshield cleaning fluid and when I tried to use it, all I did was make the windshield worse.

I needed to get a rental while my car was being repaired @ a nearby location. The staff is nice but did not seem organized and the person who helped me I guess was not fully properly trained
Other then that my experience was ok
I was given a 2014 Nissan altima awesome car
I just did not like the fact that I received the vehicle with a quarter tank

I am a repeat customer and ALWAYS received the very best service and great auto… I find all the staff professional and friendly taking care to help… I will be back again.

This place is down right unprofessional there customer service is a joke. they tell you one thing and upon pick up they say u need this and that as soon as you get there. the majority of people there inside act as if there jobs are so hard or that they don’t want to be there. put a smile on it or go home no need for attitudes. I felt so sad for the old lady they had standing there up in line. Didn’t even offer her a seat she was at least 70 standing there with here granddaughter

This location is a RIP-​OFF and a DISGRACE to Enterprise! This location is money hungry and will lie just to squeeze their customers out of their hard earned money! I even witnessed them taking advantage of a mentally– challenged man… they have no Shame! I even had to call corporate on them and corporate accommodated my husband and I, then via corporate we were sent to a different and MUCH better Enterprise location with Better staff and management who actually care about their customers! Report any discrepancies Immediately from this location if you can not avoid going here so they can never take advantage of anyone ever again!

I’m surprised to see some of the negative reviews here. I was in a situation following a car accident that forced me to rent a car for about three months. Enterprise was somewhat close to where I live so I went to them. They had someone come to pick me up 15 min after I called and a half hour later I was in a rental. Over the course of 3 months, they picked me up and dropped me off on time about 8 or 9 times. Everyone there is friendly and make it a point accommodate my needs every time. When they were out of the economy for me to rent, I was given a free upgrade several times. I find their weekly rates very affordable (when not peak Summer season) and the cars all run great and are clean. I drove 8 different cars and they all ran great. Caesar, Rupert and all of the employees there are good people. I’m very particular about the way I’m treated by any business I patronize and I’ve always been well taken care of at the Enterprise National City.

Horrible service and staff. First off, when our vehicle was going into repair our insurance coverage covered a $ 20 a day car, economy car. We went there yesterday and waited a solid half hour or so to be serviced. Now once the staff understood we needed an economy car, they didn’t tell us right away that they were out. Poor management skills. Not to mention upselling us into a $ 40 a day car, which we need a car for 5 days. We are going to be out of $ 100 because of them. Not to mention they couldn’t even accommodate us with the price difference, so unprofessional due to if they know how to take care of their customers they would accommodate if none other available. Such a waste of time and money.

Enterprise is a great company that I use much; I have never seen a location with people so rude or inconsiderate as this one. After saying they’d call back at a particular time, they didn’t. I called them twice, each time they said they were getting a car for me and would call right back; I’d still be waiting… I called the next day and a rude, arrogant lady told me that «she was real busy». Her tone told me that she could not care less, and viewed the customer as an interruption. I’ve never left a one star review before…

Daniella is really rude on the phone. None of her managers were there so she probably thought it was acceptable to be rude to customers. Unacceptable.
Enterprise is terrible.

I can’t believe I forgot to write a review for this particular Enterprise after the terrible customer service I had here. Since that day, I never returned to any Enterprise as a customer and found that Avis had cheaper deals.
My story in a nutshell goes like this, I had reserved a Dodge Magnum for a road trip to the bay area 3 weeks in advance but the day I showed up to pick up the vehicle, they no longer had it. They told me some BS story how there was a convention in downtown San Diego that weekend and that they were renting out majority of their cars to those people arriving. They told me that they would be bringing me a car from a different Enterprise location if I didn’t mind waiting.
After sitting and waiting for over 2 hours I wanted to speak to the manager. The manager was more than rude to me and offered me a tiny Toyota Prius or a large moving van which I refused since I had been waiting for so long and was promised the car I had reserved.
Another hour goes by and I was literally so bored just sitting inside their store for past 3 hours now that I demanded to speak to a regional supervisor because if not then I would leave and get in touch with him myself whether they helped me or not.
That’s officially the point in time they realized they needed to get that car from the other store, but once they called the other location to find out what was up, they too had rented it out already.
I was furious and started to let the manager know what I thought about him and his lack of urgency making me sit around for over 3 hours when he finally broke down and offered me a Chrysler M300 that was sitting outside in the parking lot the entire time I was there at the National City Enterprise.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and that they made me wait for around 3 hours and 30 minutes for a car. I never complained about this to the company but since that incident I have refused to return to Enterprise as a customer.
