So Relax

Rude. They laugh and speak in Chinese. Get mad if you dont want more than a ten minute massage. They ask for tip and get mad if you dont tip alot. They need to improve their customer service.

I frequent the Mission Valley and North County locations. I come here once in a while and this was the last time I go here. The guy that massaged me was hard. I love a firm massage but this had no reason or accuracy to it. It was just painful all around. The other locations locate your trouble spots and only apply firm pressure there.
Other reviews say they milk you here … So true. I always get asked if I want extended. But… The reason that brought the final nail in the coffin … They requested cash payment. The other locations ask. I normally don’t carry and the massage is an impulse thing. This guy refused my debit card. The labels for accepting credit were all clearly displayed on their door. But no… He said they only took cash. I bet to avoid the 1−2% transaction fee charged. I was forced to an ATM which charged me $ 3.50 to pull money and it was across the mall. I angrily went back and gave him a twenty. One dollar more than the massage price. I told him how the other locations took credit and I was never coming back. The dude just smiled at me and pointed to the tip jar. «Tip?» OMG! I gave him a glaring looked… Told him his tip went to the ATM fee… Turned my back… And stormed off.

Was extremely painful. I tried to tell her to be more gentle and she didn’t understand me because she spoke no English.

they do good job and moderate price… but beware they will milk you for additional services. I told them 20 minutes for my girlfriend they relented trying to get 30 minutes at the end of the session the young girl ask if she could put a lotion on… I figure it was a lotion application so I said yes… when I mentioned that we had to go our twenty minutes were up. she said ohh no… this is another 10 minutes… so my fault for not asking… but that tactic… STINKS

I went back in to show them how bruised my back was and they didn’t speak a lick of English (or so they said. They sure did laugh a lot as I was walking away). Never again.

I went there today because for the past couple of months I’ve had back pain… let me tell you! the little Asian lady that works there is everything! she will kick your butt but she seriously knows what she is doing… I was very pleased with the results… highly recommend this place

I would call my 20 minute massage a 20 minute beating. The lady that did my massage was very rough. You get what you pay for.

Hurt my back for a week! Dont like this place they cant even speak english! They didnt help after i translated for the guy saying that he had hurt my back !! But who cares im not going back!

I was crunched on time so I got a 15-​min chair massage for $ 19. «Wen» did my massage. He has very strong hands. He did a great job. Worth every penny and next time I go back I’ll ask for him.

Oh my! They are still good… just wanted to say I was, however, very disgusted by the cigarette smell that was on the hands of the person massaging me. I had to stop him and still had to pay full price

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART: This is not your candlelight, ambiance music, and oiled up massage. If you’re the type who likes the kind of massage where its like you’re putting on lotion this place is not for you. These people know their stuff. Really good deep tissue massage. I came in limping with lower back pain I walk out of there feeling 20lbs lighter with pep in my step. Yes the massage is a bit painful, but the good kind of pain haha. Prices are very fair for the quality of work they do. Will definitely be going back.

so i started a contract with this place called «massage envy». that was a waste for sure. I told my roommate about how much i needed to find a new place to go to. he said their was a place in the mall where my gym is at. i was like no way! Was a bit skeptical. First day I went, sealed the deal haha! I got a smooth to rough massage and it was amazing. People are nice, english is not something they do well, but they get the jist of what i need and go for it with no problems. Now I go to them all the time.

No heated stones, no aromatherapy. Well, I did smell some cookies baking upstairs. Just a really good deep tissue masssage. They don’t mess around. I had to take a few deep breaths at times. No pain, no gain. Very satisfied.

Worst massage ever. I was in pain more than half of the time. I did not know what to expect so i just toughed it out while the man with the rough hands dug his elbows into my back. I swear he was taking out his whole life’s anger on me. I woke up the next day with my back feeling bruised and in worse pain than i started.

If u r walking for a long time and u need some x its worth 30 min.

I like the fact I can get massages in 10min or 15 mins. I simply do not have time for an hour massage. This is a no nonsense chair massage. And I find that the less English they speak, the better the massage. And those little ladies are tough and strong too! Any ways they are a chain, and it can be a miss some time but for the most part, a big hit.

Save your money! My husband and I went to the bonita mall to shop. We encounter the «So Relax» stand and was pressure to take their offer. What a big mistake! After the hitting and abuse on our backs, both my husband and I were in pain for two days. The price was sixty dollars plus ten dollars for tips equals seventy dollars for couples. Never again! I have a lower back pains and this place made it worst. Only come here if you want to be a punching bag! I would only reccommend you to treat someone you hate to this place so they get a good beating. LOL

I’ve had lots massages and chiropractors due to a bum disc in my back. I consider it a necessity but it can be painful on the wallet (insert healthcare insurance rant here). I’ve had a few really expensive massages at high end resorts that were lame and weak. I’ve also had some really intense ones from sports medicine deep tissue types. So Relax is somewhere in the middle. I don’t care about incense and sitar music as much as having the knots worked out. When I saw the friendly little guys with big, knotty forearms in the mall I knew it would be good. And it is. $ 35 for 30 minute table massage is worth every penny. It has always been an in-​and-​out operation where you don’t have to get naked and wait for private rooms etc.
So if muscle digging relaxes you more than Yani CD’s and potpourri I highly recommend these guys and girls to get So Relax.

So Relax is a good place to get your knots out and back cracked when you don’t feel like spending a Benjamin Franklin, getting half naked or getting oiled up.
They do have an actual store instead of a kiosk right next to Wetzel’s Pretzels on the «old» side of the mall if you want more privacy. Sometimes all you need is a good 10-​minute massage.

I swung by the Plaza Bonita mall the other day in a desperate search for a birthday present. Seeing as I was in a mall, I found nothing of value… except So Relax!
I opted for a 10 minute quickie just before work, and it was quite possibly the best 10 minutes of my life. Just don’t tell that to any of my ex’s, actually on second thought… do.
I walked in with 1. headache 2. backache 3. general tiredness and walked out with 1. no headache 2. no backache 3. energy.
The woman I got gave me 15 minutes for the 10 minute price (score!). And although she spoke little to no english, she easily understood when I pointed to my back and started to explain where it hurt. She spent that extra five minutes massaging out whatever was in there eating at my spine. It was wonderful.
If you ever find yourself in the Plaza Bonita mall, head to the lower level in the very middle of the mall and buy yourself 10 minutes in heaven. And no, I don’t mean the game we all used to play as kids. Plus, that was 7 minutes, and we all know that 7 minutes is just a tease.
