Another hole in the wall in naugy. If you know what to expect when you go there, this place is ok. They have a ton of beers to choose from. I went on a sunny afternoon and when you walk in here, it feels like you are in a dungeon. A little to dark for me and I like the dark usually.

My favorite local spot. I’m a beer/whiskey geek and they always have a good selection at a fair price. Food is typical sparse bar menu but always tasty. I live a few miles away and come whenever I can.

Definitely a cool bar! Lots of craft beers to choose from. The service is questionable… if you get Elle you’re in luck! And gonna have a great experience!!! The rest of the servers tend to be focused elsewhere. But, anyway… I love the old school ambiance of the bar and the ceiling is pretty awesome!!! For the area, it’s the best bar around!

Couldn’t be happier to have The Corner in the neighborhood; looking forward to growing old here. The place has a character of its own; leave what you think you’ve heard at the door, order a beer and experience it.

Been here several times since they took over the«Old Corner». They amped up the beer to offer IPA’s and other craft beers that you wouldn’t expect to find in Naugatuck-that’s the good news. The bad news is that it’s run by the owners and family members of. The only non family member is the male, gray haired bartender. He’s the one doing all the work while the owners turn a blind eye. The food is nothing to brag about… at all. Judging by the owners mannerisms(constant swiping her nose) I’m always hesitant to order. I’d love to see the health inspectors report. Lastly, the place and architecture is beautiful. The colors they chose(maroon and black) just SUCK all the light out. It needs a brighter vibe. It’s dark anyway because of the lighting but help it out with a lighter paint… Preferably Benjamin Moore Weimaraner:-) Anyway…not a bad place to stop for a beer. but nothing else.

Decent beers but forget the food… Waited over(40) f-ing minutes for a simple burger/fry’s. Never did arrive. Chubby fuzzyed haired bartender(owner) made up some lame excuse about no room on the grill at the moment. Hilarious to say the least. Told her she needs to replace the cook… She defended the loser cook. Walked out and paid for 2 beers(no Tip)…Went to Nardelle’s around the corner and was served in under(30) seconds… EASY … Better get it together! Its 2015.

Good bar with a great selection of local brews. This is my go to bar and have been a loyal customer since before it was The Corner Tavern. The new owners brought life back to this staple bar! The food is excellent and I highly recommend the cob salad, grilled cheese and the double dogs. And good luck finding the 7 mistakes in the hand laid tile floor. I have only found 5. It’s a fun game to play while kicking back at the tavern

This place is growing on Me they have good standard prices on pints nebco sea hag is 5 and stubborn beauty Thornton melon is 6. Had a roast beef club and while not really an inventive menu it was solid. Beer selection has been more inventive

I came here on a slow Saturday afternoon. Corner Tavern is situated on a corner, in a humble neighborhood right off Rte. 8. The craft beer selection is great and the prices are too. They seem to branch out a little bit with their spirit offerings, for those not into beer. The food menu is simple; that of a typical bar/tavern. My friend and I each ordered different burgers and both thought they were great, and again, fairly priced. The bartender and other staff working were friendly. If you look at my profile, I don’t give out many 5-star reviews. Sure there are bars and restaurants that have terrific food, excellent service, and amazing décor — but you probably are paying a lot of money for those things. Here, you don’t get skimped on your food or drink(that are both more than satisfactory) AND you don’t pay too much for it.

The Corner Tavern is a good Naugy spot! I like the Old Corner, more for the people and was sad for it to be gone, but am happy with a lot of the changes! Great brew selection and some new healthier menu items(had a hummus platter last time I was there). The décor is prohibition themed and pretty unique.

A great place for a large selection of reasonably priced craft beers. A basic bar menu. Short and sweet. Works for me. Parking can be an issue depending on when you like to enjoy your nice cold beer. I tend to keep to weekdays right after work(5 – 7) or weekends during the afternoon. The staff has always been pleasant based on my experiences. Definitely a must if you like a rotating assortment of craft beers from around the country. P. S. You have to check out the urinals. It’s like peeing into a cathedral.

This bar was one of my favorites. I absolutely love their beer selection, I love their nachos, I like their wings and I like their burgers, even if they are overly salty. However, I no longer go here. Why? It’s because of the pattern you see in a lot of other reviews. They just aren’t nice or friendly. The smug attitude is mostly exclusive to Ryan, but I have gotten it from other staff too. It’s like everything is a bother. I don’t know why they have a high and mighty attitude, it’s Naugy ffs, not Greenwich. I have been here over a dozen times. I’ve been there since the beginning before they even had air conditioning and I stuck with it. However as time went on, the unfriendly nature kept getting exponentially more annoying. I brought friends and while they marveled at the beer wall, they all would mention the attitude. Doesn’t matter if you tip well like 30%+, they don’t care. They don’t seem to need or want your business. Unlike a lot of Unilocal reviews, there was no isolated incident that upset me to make me go on a vindictive digital rant. No, this was a long time coming. It just wore on me. It went from a place I loved to go, to a place I no longer cared for. I haven’t been there in months and no longer desire to go. My interest just dwindled until it was gone. I’m not going to be bitter and leave a 1-star review because there’s a lot of good things here and I really do think you should check it out for yourself at least once. However, I can’t give this place a perfect score, because it’s not. Who knows, maybe you’ll have a great time there like I used to have.

Waitress knows nothing about beer selection. Food is downright awful. The cheese on the nachos was a messy glob of velveta. Subway has better quality roast beef and the gravy tastes like metal. Bartenders are rude. Call John Taffer and rescue this place!

The atmosphere & great beer selection keep this place going no doubt. I have been here many times for tap take overs, live music & beer events. I will not eat here again. Friday was the last time for me. How can you screw up a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato? By serving it barely toasted with the cheese unmelted inside and grill top remnants stuck in the bread that’s how. Yuck! !

Nice little find in Nauagtuck. The staff wasn’t particularly friendly, but the décor was a lot of fun and there was a lot of room. The tap selection is fairly large so we all had something we liked. Of all the bars in the area, I’ll be visiting this one again.

This place has more«character» than Mickey the Mouse, With a craft beer selection that will bring down the house. A welcoming aura and a great mixed crowd, From seasoned beer drinkers to kids getting plowed. New ownership, but the same building that my 60-year old mother used to go to drink when she was 18. The owners have done a great job of maintaining the classic, classy interior from the original construction: textured ceilings and walls, a big oak bar, and huge vintage urinals in the men’s bathroom! I was pretty excited to pee when the time came. The beer selection is the best you are going to find in Naugatuck. Stouts, IPAs, Tripels, Ciders($ 5 – 7)…They also have Bud Light($ 3.25), but if you drink that stuff you are dead to me. Beer selection included some local Connecticut breweries including my favorite, New England Brewing Co. Sea Hag and 668: Neighbor of the Beast. Do it. A great place to try a new brew(that rhymed, tee-hee) This is a little simple bar that is a great place to catch a game. There were people here ranging from 21 years old to probably 70, so bring the whole family. My new go-to joint in Naugy.

Stopped in just for a drink with the wife. Positives: the interior has been cleaned up nicely, server(Courtney) was very friendly and personable, great line up of craft brews and reasonably priced. Negatives: They need to do something with the ventilation it smelled very badly of grease it was really bad, I noticed before I even took a sip my pint glass had a crack along the rim and I brought it to our servers attention and she very apologetically took my beer away and proceeded to pour it out of the broken glass right into another pint glass instead of pouring a fresh one. I would have given 3.5 stars but not an option.
