They say the best BBQ joints are hole in the wall places. This place isn’t fancy or run down by any means it’s some of the best BBQ in Navarre though. Go for lunch or call ahead for take out.

this was absolutely the worst BBQ I have ever had. I ate here 1 year ago while on vacation and it was very good so I thought I would give it another try. we had the brisket, the shredded pork, the chicken, and the ribs. It all was very dry and tasted like it was cooked the day before and heated up in the oven. I mentioned it to our waiter and he said that’s the way it supposed to be. I’m from Texas and I know good BBQ, I wouldn’t feed that food to my dog. I will never go back so don’t waste your money on that food

What a hidden gem… who what have thought that near the beach lies such a great local BBQ spot. No gimmicks, no BIG flashy signs… JUSTGREATBBQ! Everything was personable and kind, from the moment you walk in, to the service and especially the flood. Not overpriced and very well worth it for the quality. I had a Texas style pulled pork sandwich w side of the most delicious sweet potato fries some kind of incredible bbq dipping sauce and the crunchiest freshest cole slaw I have ever had(just the right hint of mayo). Damm this place is good!

Lunch was pretty good — but i was hoping to be wowed considering the previous comments in Unilocal.Pulled pork was very good, decent fries and mediocre slaw. The poor guy running the place was doing everrything, answering phones, greeting, getting drinks and food — it wore me out just watching him. Also a tad pricey, you can sit on the waterfront for that price just down the street. Also, the menu is very confusing — if i have to do math in my head because you price up your food 3 diffferent ways, you may want to reconsider the menu layout.

Excellent ribs, great sides and friendly service. I am picky about potato salad but enjoyed theirs; the fried okra was crispy and good. The key lime pie is delish and the banana pudding untraditional but yummy. Don’t be put off by the strip mall location or lack of inside diners. The ambiance inside is what you make it and they do a brisk take our business. The staff has always been superb. We come here at least once on our yearly visits to Navarre beach, and as New Orleanians we have high standards for restaurants. Give them a try !

Better than all the area’s BBQ hands down! I will admit I love small mom & pop style places. I find their are normally a hidden gem. I have never been disappointed here. From their incredible Cincinnati Chili, Fried Pickles and Okra being so fresh, to their outstanding Misery Slaw. I can’t get enough of this place. But last and definitely not least their staff are great, funny, and always on point out of the couple dozens of times me and my family have frequented here I don’t think we’ve ever caught them on a bad day.

Amazing food, casual atmosphere and nice staff. Fried dills were the best I’ve ever had! I also had the pork plate and my boyfriend had the beef plate, everything was delish! We are locals and it was our first time here! We lovee your bbq sauces! & the key lime pie for dessert was so good. We will be back soon!

Watery sauce, overcooked pork, baked beans are Campbell’s out of the can. Watery ice tea. Slight smell. Good fried okra and potato salad. Don’t know how it got 4.5 stars!

Delicious food and always friendly service. I don’t even like cole slaw, but find my mouth waters for misery slaw!

Excellent waiter and good food. Ribs were good although some were smaller and a little dry. Kids meals were good. Waiter who was the only one on duty was fantastic

I am from Michigan visiting for spring break, and have been disappointed with a lot of the restaurants around here. After reading reviews on Unilocal we thought that it was worth a shot to try the rib shack. Although it is placed in a strip mall and the food comes in baskets and on styrofoam plates the meals will blow you away! For appetizers the fried dill chips are a must have, unfortunately when I went in they were out of ribs so I went with the pork plate and finally had my first amazing meal in Navarre. Also after a hot day having a I cup of their sweet tea is really nice. I would definitely recommend this place and will be stoping back myself.

I lived in Texas and there is nothing that will compare to how good Tx bbq is. That being said… this is really good bbq for this area. Ribs are fantastic! Nice service and atmosphere. Gluten free selection… good find.

Get the half order of fried dills. It’s enough to satisfy 2 people. They are really yummy. Then I ordered the lunch special. Pulled pork sandwich and 2 sides for $ 8. It was a great deal for the quality of the food. The misery slaw is a spicy cole slaw. I’m picky about slaw, and this was great. When I asked about it, btw they brought me a sample to try it. Really nice service here. The potato salad was awesome. It had mustard and I think egg… reminded me of deviled eggs… It was like a dry sauce, not in a bad way. It was delicious and had great texture. The pulled pork sandwich was yummy… very generous serving of pork. The sauces are on the table. I’m so glad we found this place on our road trip!

We decided to try this place after reading other Unilocal reviews-drove past it the first time. The ambiance is not that of a 5 star Michelin restaurant. This place is a little piece of a non-descript strip mall. BUT stop in-because this food is the real deal! Our family of 5 arrived hungry after a day at the beach. The restaurant is small and was full at 7:30 pm. We were surprised to see gumbo and barbecue shrimp on the menu as appetizers – tried both – delicious! The pulled pork, ribs and brisket are all very good and smoked right on the property. Great service, too! Big thumbs up from this hungry crew! We are hoping to stop back again-and that doesn’t happen often for us!

This rare find was pleasant surprise. Owner’s son was running the place by himself. Pulled pork sandwich with misery slaw was exceptional. Sweet potato fries, yum! Highly recommend supporting them, especially since it was a small business. Keep em alive! Set in a strip mall and sign not easily seen so slow down when you get near it.

This is some of the best barbeque we have eaten. My husband eats, breathes, and sleeps barbeque. He had ribs bought from Kentucky to Florida for our rehearsal dinner. To say he likes barbeque is an understatement. This is one of three barbeque places he really enjoys eating. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I personally enjoy the fried dill pickles, and the sweet potato fries are quite sublime. You can wash all down with a nice cup of sweet tea.

Great BBQ, outstanding service! My husband and I were staying in Navarre Beach, and we got word to try this place. It did not disappoint — a great first night dinner! We each had the pork plate — potato salad, baked beans. Delicious! Highly recommend for dine-in or carry-out.

Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and, best of all, great food. The BBQ is good and the banana pudding makes an awesome follow-up. If you’re looking for great food as a quick bite to eat at a good price, this is it.

Great service. We had gumbo to start, it was good until I added hot sauce and then it was great. I had the rib plate with potato salad and cole slaw delicious– large portions … He had pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries with an amazing side of brown sugar dipping sauce– MUST get! Everything tasted really fresh– friendly and clean atmosphere. High price for lunch but leaving with full bellies– leftovers and a smile.

Great place. Staff is unbelievably friendly and the food is great. I especially enjoyed the Cincinnati chili since we used to live in Dayton. We like our meat dry, not smothered with sauce like other places do. The barbecue should be able to stand on it’s own. It does that here. The fried green beans were surprisingly good. The banana pudding was delicious for dessert. We’ll definitely return. Don’t bother with the place down the road that’s much bigger than this place. Trust me.
