amazing sushi in a tiny quaint little teal shack in Navarre just east of the beach bridge. amazing staff, food, and beverage choices.

Not fresh at all. I couldn’t finish my roll due to the sushi smelling. And that’s not a good sign. I wonder where the crew studied sushi. It’s sad people think this place is good. What a shame.

My favorite sushi place ever! The Shrimp Tempura Roll is definitely a winner. Service is great! Sometimes hard to get into because there’s not a ton of tables! The price is higher than some places too! But in my opinion… this place is worth the money!

Great sushi, tiny restaurant. I highly recommend it for the quality of the food, but the space is a little claustrophobic.

TL;DR Fresh, wide-variety of sushi in a small, modern setting The Slippery Mermaid is a little hard to find and to pull into off of 98 in Navarre if you’re going too quick. Once you park, don’t be alarmed if there is a wait especially on a Friday or Saturday night. The interior is a bit small, but they try their hardest to seat people while not rushing the customers. My husband and I were sat at a two-person table near where they prep all of the sushi in the main eating area. The restaurant is very clean and sleek(white design) with cute beach and mermaid related décor on the walls. The servers were young, friendly, and attentive. We ordered miso soup(a bit pricey at $ 3), the Sexy Mermaid, Spicy Octopus Roll, Spicy Shrimp Roll, and the Peck-n-Roll. The Sexy Mermaid was eye-catching and delicious. It’s a must have item on their menu if you ask me. The Spicy Octopus Roll wasn’t spicy at all, but the Spicy Shrimp Roll did indeed have a kick to it. For something a little different, I ordered the Peck-n-Roll which has cucumber and grilled chicken along with teriyaki sauce on top. I liked it as an alternative to fish/shellfish. Great place for a date night or for an outing with friends.

Absolutely fantastic! The miso soup, while just a simple, restaurant style miso broth, is nicer than most, with decent amounts of tofu and wakame. What we really love are the chef’s choice vegan rolls… creative, diverse, and tasty. If you have a non meat eater in your family or someone who is not a fan of the idea of sushi because of the raw fish connotation, we highly recommend you request the vegan chef’s choice. We also love how accommodating and eager to meet our request they always are.

Decent food. Awful management. We ordered a roll according to the menu it was cooked. Being pregnant — I can’t eat raw food. Labeled that it had no raw ingredients. The roll came out and it was barely cooked. Manager Rikki was not understanding. Over a $ 8 sushi roll. Rude and wouldn’t take it off the check. Unbelievable.

I like this sushi a lot. Wish they had a bigger place to accommodate a few more people, but maybe it’s meant to be quaint. Very friendly staff. My husband and I love sushi and so does my 7 year old. My 6 year old… not so much. But they have rolls to accommodate his taste and still make him feel like he’s eating sushi like everyone else. I appreciate that. One of the few places to get good sushi, we will be back on a regular.

Good sushi, normal prices. The service is a little slow when they get busy but otherwise this is a great local place. 4 stars on the Navarre scale. We tried the psycho mermaid, spicy tuna roll and poke appetizer. Our son tried the steak bowl. Oddly enough his food didn’t arrive until we were almost finished. One star off for service.

Just ate here this week while on vacation. I love sushi and had googled local places beforehand. y wife and daughter do not like sushi so I was concerned that they would not have anything that they would eat. We went for lunch and my wife and daughter both ordered the rice bowls off the kids menu. My wife got the shrimp bowl and loved it. My daughter got the chicken bowl and kinda picked around it because she didn’t care for the teriyaki sauce that was drizzled over the rice. I got the Psycho Mermaid and Sexy Mermaid rolls. Both were really good. There was something crunchy in the Sexy Mermaid roll that just seemed a little weird both in taste and texture. Besides that, I would and could have eaten here everyday while on vacation. Rolls were reasonably priced and good sized proportions.

Had a meeting here with a group. The problem is, sushi is not within my area of expertise. I know it’s either you love it or hate it. S N/A. Location– 3⁄5: This was a tricky one to get to. Coming from FWB/Destin and having to loop around on the madness that is 98, that costed points. But what made it worse was that I nearly passed it up and crashed after turning around because I didn’t see the sign for it until the last second. Maybe a bigger sign? Lights? Advertising? Bigger location? Just ideas, y’all…something to consider. Food– 4⁄5: Once I got in and got my food, I must say it was impressive. In the group I was with, we mixed up rolls, and each one was great in its own way. However I was a tad thrown off when I ordered tea and was offered sugar water to sweeten it… uhh, there’s already water in the drink, silly! Saying that, the bottle was pretty though. Pricing: 3⁄5: This what also got me. I dunno if you’re paying for quality or if it’s normal but, 5 rolls was approximately $ 50. Overall– 3⁄5: not too bad. However my issue is that even after buying 2 rolls, it was only filling for a little bit and was hungry again. Maybe it’s me or is this normal for sushi joints?

What can I say about this restaurant… AMAZING!!! We have been there twice and I really think I could eat there everyday! The rolls are huge and there are so many to choose from! I recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi or has never had it before and wants to try it– they have something for everyone. The crunchy crab roll is my face, I get it and then try something new as my second roll.

Found this place on Unilocal as we were heading back home from a little day trip. I don’t know what else to say besides Excellent! This place is very small with a nice beach vibe. The sushi was absolutely excellent. They offer different, Americanized takes on sushi along with the traditional. Definitely check this place out as soon as you can. Wish there were more places like this in the area!

Wow so good. Rolls were good size and rolled fat. While everyone else in Navarre is wasting their time and pallet on fried shrimp swing by here and eat something fresh. Wait was a little long after they took our order, but you can’t rush good food.

Ohh man… I wish I had taken pictures… this was phenomenal. It what people call a boutique restaurant… rarely seen in these parts. It’s like having a sushi bar worthy of San Francisco or downtown Waikiki, right here in Navarre, FL. Sushi was so fresh and creative… the blending of flavors to some of their creations(mermaids) was just absolutely incredible. I had Hot saki, Sapporo and a log of the Psychotic mermaid… wow!!!

Really enjoyed this restaurant’s modern take on sushi. The menu is very oriented to «American» tastes… mostly rolls that are made up of crab, shrimp, and tuna. There is also a large number of non-raw rolls that are clearly indicated on the menu. The highlights for me were the Hawaiian Poke appetizer and the Slippery Mermaid.

The only and the closest Sushi place near destin and fort walton beach that I enjoy eating at, and I have tried them all… I used to live in California where they have some amazing Sushi joints, and this one is very comparable. I very highly recommend it… just had the Phsycho Mermaid roll today and was delish!

My husband and I drive all the way from Pensacola to come here and let me tell you it was so worth it. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had I loved it. The building is pretty small but it wasn’t a crowded even with the place being full. If we ever make it back that way we will be back.

Went with La Familia when I first arrived to Navarre. Very cute, quaint cottage and it sure doesn’t look like a typical sushi restaurant, more like a brunch place. Not very many tables inside, but they also have outside seating. We were seated very quickly and our server, Mercedes, was very personable and efficient and gave us some time to peruse the menu and she answered all our questions very thoroughly. Very happy we stopped in because the sushi was fresh and delicious! We ordered the following with 2 Sapporo and Longboard Beers: Miso Soup, Poke, Steak Bowl(kid’s menu), Cucumber Salad, the 40 Piece Sashimi Plate, Dragon Roll(2), Spicy Octopus, Garlic Tuna Roll(2), and New Wave Sashimi. The presentation of the food was top-notch(so pretty almost didn’t want to eat it!). All were very Yummy and the price was very reasonable. We were a party of 4 Adults and 1 Child and the price was around $ 135 and we were stuffed and satisfied and had no room for dessert(which we will have to try on our next visit). It took awhile between orders to get our food but our server kept letting us know the order would be coming out soon and she always kept our water glasses full. We didn’t mind the wait since we weren’t in any real hurry and had a great and relaxing meal.
