Most pizza places are almost indistinguishable from one another, but when we saw the reviews for Crosscut, we had to try it, even if it meant a 2 hour drive from Vail to get there. It was definitely worth it. This is one of the best places in the country to get exquisite thin crust pizza with really fresh ingredients that will stand up to comparison with great fresh pizza made in Italy. Their oven comes from Maine but is lined with special materials imported from Provence. The pizzas are 12 inches in size so we thought we would be taking some slices home, but it was so good that we each ate a whole pie. Fortunately the thin crust allows you to eat a whole one without stuffing yourself. They have preset combinations for toppings but you can also build your own custom pie. Gluten free dough is available but is the only item not made in house. It’s still very good if that is your preference. Excellent selection of beers and wines. The fermented cider is genuine and is tart, unlike the usual commercial sweet stuff. It may take a little getting used to if you are only used to sweet cider, but it grows on you. Finally, don’t miss out on the homemade ice cream. Service was superb. Prices are very reasonable for pizzas of this exceptional quality. Extremely highly recommend this very special place. Easily reached from Boulder via a 14 mile drive through the beautiful Boulder Canyon.

Went here over the weekend with a large group after a hike. They were very accommodating and the service was great. The pizzas are awesome but they do come out one or two at a time so by the time the last person(me!) got their pizza most people were finishing eating but it was sooooo worth the wait. The ingredients were very fresh and the portions were perfect for starving hikers. I can’t wait to come back!

Best restaurant in Nederland! Fantastic, creative pizza with the best crust since Naples. We’ve tried just about every pizza on the menu so far, and there are always new ones to try. While we have our favorites, we’ve never had a miss. Everything is fantastic, made of the highest quality ingredients and thoughtfully put together. Some faves: the Salsiccia, the Pueblo, and the White and Green. Salads are also always excellent, and lots of little side dishes to choose from too. House-made ice creams with rotating flavors. Our fave is chocolate rosemary. So good. Great craft beers on tap, including several rotating taps, and also fantastic wines on tap too(try the barbera). Finally… excellent staff and coolest pizza oven you ever did see.

Loving this new addition to Nederland! My husband and I have been here twice already and can’t wait to go back. Great, fresh pizza. We don’t eat cheese, and the veggie-loaded pizzas are so tasty; I even added some roasted lemons to my Greek-inspired pizza today, lovely. We have been getting warm olives to start, super yummy, and great beer and cider. Very friendly staff and nice décor. Don’t know if it was the great lunch or the cider, but I left very happy today, had a good case of the giggles(I suspect that was due to the cider). Will be back in a few weeks!

They know how to make real pizza. Simple and fresh ingredients and incredible pizza dough, cooked in a wood-burning oven.

We liked this place considerably, as is. And, even better for the future, it still has untapped potential. To begin, it is housed in a lovely little building, and has three separate, small dining rooms, each holding about six smallish tables. Large openings in the walls/partitions visually connect the entire place, so it doesn’t seem at all fragmented. A patio on the side and a deck out back above a stream will, we were told, be open in warmer weather. The owners did an excellent job rehabing the space. Clean, streamlined, pleasant. The food is decent. Nearly all of the offerings are pizzas.(It is SO nice to have another pizza place in Nederland, one where the clientele hasn’t become overwhelmingly sketchy.) Unlike most pizza places, there is only one pizza size(10-inch, I think). And this isn’t American pizza(which I love), but a more traditional, true Italian pizza(which I also love). Very thin crust, a scant smear of sauce, light on the toppings, very light on the cheese. Cooked in a wood-burning oven. Nice. But, to be very clear, you won’t get a cheese and topping-laden pizza here. So don’t expect one, and don’t complain on Unilocal when you don’t receive one :-) I truly hope this place develops a loyal clientele. It certainly deserves one. And Nederland desperately needs this place as a dining option. A few minor quibbles, in case the owners are interested: — SIGNAGE! The place desperately needs clearly visible signage. We’ve driven by and never noticed it. Only because friends up in Ned told us about the place did we become aware of its existence. The dark metal crosscut saw CROSSCUT sign is very nice, but completely unnoticeable. — More pizza options would be nice. There wasn’t any one that particularly appealed to us.(Though the one we ending up choosing was good.) But I suspect more will be offered as the place settles into a groove. — Raw veggies on a pizza are a little off-putting. Please cook those pepper slices at least a little.

–Mecca– on a cool fall evening after driving for over an hour without seeing another car/town! The warmth both literally and figuratively of this spot is undeniable! Arrived after 7 on a Sunday night and while it was jammin’ we were set up right away in a great corner table and before we knew it, sippin’ awesome local beer. Our pizza was delicious! Sausage and sauce clearly fresh– the taste was so vibrant we ate the whole thing! Oh, and the homemade ice cream– best I have ever had– seriously-and I come from the Bay Area where everyone is making homemade ice cream. The best Jerry, the best!
