Horrible. Here is the chain of events I experienced with K Powers as i was looking for a wool carpet installation. — Called for carpet removal and measurements for an estimate — Two very nice gentleman came out and the old carpet was removed for a fair price and measurements were taken. The gentleman told me that all the measurements would be drawn up in a 3d drawing and ready for us the following week. They said that all we would have to do would is come into the shop and use these drawings to price out our order. — 2 – 3 weeks later we took a trip to the shop and worked with a sales person. She told us that the drawings were not ready or done for our order at all. We picked out a few choices anyway and she 100% assured us that everything would be «drawn» up and ready the following day. She was supposed to provide quotes based on the samples we spent 45 minutes picking out. She also was supposed to look at other possible wool options that weren’t in the store and answer a few follow up questions. — She NEVER called us back at all! No one from the store ever followed up with us. In addition, in my opinion this place is a rip off! Their prices are astronomical! They roughly quoted us(the day we were in the store) $ 5,000-$ 8,000 for one room with a wool carpet. We ended getting exactly what we wanted elsewhere(with installation) for under $ 2500. This place is for rich people and know it all snobby«designers». When we were in the store, the sales woman gave us a strong sales pitch about how great K Powers was. The reality was that they have expensive products and their customer service is horrible.

K Powers & Company has always specialized in working with designers, but is open to work directly with homeowners also. This is really a «plus» because they know how to help select just the right kind of rug for the needs of both design professionals and homeowners, from the fantastic selection of exquisite hand made custom rugs to wall-to-wall in a whole array of colors and textures. A rug source that knows how to work with designers has to be well versed in all the qualities and detailed issues around getting a rug, not just generic information. At K. Powers, homeowners will benefit from the same high level of expertise and service that designers receive. On a recent visit I also noticed some great solid flooring, from hard woods to other materials. When you put fantastic service and attention to detail into the mix, it’s a showroom you’ll be happy to do business with.

We went here looking for a staircase runner. They have a very large showroom with remnant pieces from other projects. These are usually highly discounted since they can only use them for special projects like area rugs or staircase runners(like what we were looking for). We came here on a Saturday and they were open late and an experienced sales woman greeted us. She gave us good information and wasn’t pushy. She even left us alone to talk about the price. There was another man there who worked with her but he didn’t speak much English. We think he was maybe a carpenter that worked on staff. They had a large variety of styles and colors. We needed a rug that wasn’t wool(to keep our house at a low for allergies) and found one that was good for us. We paid in full for the staircase runner and were quoted 1 – 2 weeks for the rug to be sized and the bonding to be done. This is where they start to loose stars IMO. We never got any phone calls and at 10 days out, we decided to stop by and see how much longer it would take. We go back and were then told it would take them ANOTHER10 days to finish our runner. No explanation, no apology, nothing. I think they forgot about our order and when we walked into the store, they panicked and just told us it would take another 10 days. For the money we spent, that was a little unacceptable. If we had gotten an explanation as to why, I would have accepted that. We decided to just wait the extra 10 days and then take our staircase runner and run with it. If they had offered some kind of recompense or even an apology/explanation, it would have changed this mediocre rating to a 5 star one.
