They did top notch developing with my Velvia, the prices were good, and the slides were mounted with care. I think considering the options out there these days that they’re probably your best bet in the Boston area, and soon possibly your only.
My only complaint is that they suggested that internegatives were the best way to go if I was looking for the best quality when printing enlargements for display and retail. Internegatives??? A third generation image superior to a high resolution scan and printing on the latest inkjet or lightjet? I think not. They’re old school like that I guess. I’ll give them 4.5 stars.

This place is probably one of the top photo labs around Boston — there’s a more expensive one in Back Bay, and the schools have their own darkrooms but if you need someone to soup your negatives or generate any sort of print — silver gelatin, cibachrome, digital transfers — you name it… they do it. They are unassuming and out of the way, but as a testament to their skill — they do a lot of printing for some really well known names in photography, many of which have been featured in Aperture (
), including Laura McPhee and Lalla Essaydi.
Of note, they use Xtol as their black and white developer which I think is a plus — it just looks a lot better (to me) than D76 or the Ilford developer other labs use.
The service is also fantastic — if you go there often they will know you on sight, and they are probably the friendliest photo shop I’ve ever been to (in the Boston Area at least).
