Super greasy and over salted food. Poor and slow and uninformed service. I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place to anyone except that it might be OK to sit at the bar since Needham doesn’t have a lot of choices. It’s pretty much the same quality as blue on Highland.

My husband and I have been there 3 times. We keep trying to give it another chance but not anymore. We are even going to wast a $ 50 gift card we have there. The owner and hostess are so rude. Always seem so put off and not accommodating. The food was good but not enough to overlook the rudeness

Been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, enjoyed both. Fresh food, tasty and neatly served. Short menu guarantee fresh products and perfection.

Great service, interesting menus changes seasonal, the atmosphere is very nice and happy. They are very flexible with adjusting ingredients according to your needs. For instance I asked to cook sashimi and they did it ! Their lemonade is the best ever !! Really nice placec

This restaurant was a great find! Service was fantastic. Every dish was even better. Kale salad, scallops, and beef tenderloin were particularly good. Great bar scene, lots of energy at tables. Highly recommend!

The Farmhouse is worth a trek to Needham! The owner is so nice and really cares about her establishment, the food, the customers. It’s clearly a family affair here. The décor is quaint and cozy. The food is delicious — everyone in our large party, all with diverse tastes and needs, loved their meals. It was a great place to celebrate a birthday. The staff was super accommodating to food allergies. Everything is made from scratch, and they really want everyone to enjoy their meal. So nice! This is a great closer-to-Boston alternative when you don’t want to drive to Groton for Gibbet Hill for a local farm-to-table experience. Let’s give them plenty of business so that they stay open for a long time, and help influence the greater Boston food scene for the better!

I rarely leave Boston to go out for dinner. There just is no need to… unless it is to dine at The Farmhouse in Needham. I just love this place. I have been here many times for both lunch and dinner, and it is consistently amazing food every single time. The Kale salad is outrageous and I don’t even like Kale! In the summer they make this white Gazpacho soup that was like nothing I have ever tasted before… out of this world delicious! The other night I had the short ribs which were tender and insanely delicious. The service is always such a treat. Everyone is so kind and attentive and accommodating. The best part is the chef and his wife own and run The Farmhouse and it shows. Each bite has been made with love.

Truly wonderful experience. Presentation was top notch and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the cheese tray for a starter. Beautifully decorated interior. My husband is not easily impressed, but raved about his shrimp fettuccine with asparagus. The bread served was soft and freshly baked. Perfect all around.

About a week ago, a group of 15 of us dined at this restaurant for a special going-away dinner. First of all, it was only supposed to be for 10, and the staff quickly accommodated the rest who were able to join. That in itself was amazing! We can’t thank the manager and owner, Dora, enough for making this evening so much fun, so delicious and so successful! Opening their doors early to us as they did was extremely generous. You and your staff were attentive and courteous. Every bite from every dish, from the Bar Bites to dinners to desserts, was to die for! The seasonings on the House Made Chips was spot on, and don’t get me started on the Truffle Fries! Holy moly — it was all so good. We couldn’t resist one morsel! I look forward to visiting The Farmhouse again for occasions big and small.

I LOVE this place! I am a foodie but not just the run of the mill food, this is the freshest, most natural and beautifully presented! I have been here before at the suggestion of friends. I had friends in from out to town for a BC Law School graduation… They were blown away. We started with a cold citrus avocado soup, that I can still taste. My halibut was outstanding and my guests had fresh Nantucket scallops. Every time I have been here Dora has been my server… she’s pleasant, funny, knowledgeable and a treasure. Great drinks and wine selection too!

I am so happy to report that the farmhouse has improved markedly since my first visit. I have been back many times since and have had great experiences. The service is attentive. The food is delicious! I usually order the fish and salad. Always fresh.

Chad’s Eats review of The Farmhouse Cuisine: American New World Location: Needham, MA Parking: Ample parking, best bet is the permit parking lot that is fine for not permit Parkersburg after business hours. 2 minute walk to restaurant through nice center of town. Décor /Ambiance: Rustic, artistic, elegant and very country home like. Love the use of old woods, exposed kitchen with bandana wearing chefs. Laid back feel. Greeting: Warm and inviting, big beautiful smile on the hostess who greeted us. We had 7:30 reservations and our table was not quite ready and she offered us the kitchen bar with full view of the chefs and all the excitement I am drawn too. It helps to see all the foods too when making menu selections. Menu mix: A creative blend of influences. At a glance I saw crafted pastas(Italian), crispy soft shell crab with Harissa pasta(north African /middle eastern). I saw entrees using classic Beurre bland sauce(classic French) and the best fish tacos I have ever had. So you see the term«American new» seems to cover just about anything. That’s why I added New World to it. The menu is small which is nice. It’s got great variety and everything is done very well. Water /Bread service: Great clean fresh tasting water, fresh baked bread brought to you and served out of a wicker and clothed basket by one of the servers. Great butter served inside a mason jar lid. Rustic Elegance ! Drink pour: We got some Chardonnay and I was pleased with the pour. The pricing was very fair. Food quality: Fantastic, top notch talent in this kitchen. Man I can pick a great place! Service: We were very well attended to. Minor delays waiting for a decaf cappuccino as it arrived when desserts were just about done but that’s fine. My wife and I are chill. We did get an extra dessert for the wait which coincidentally was my wife’s second choice. It was a wonderful lemon tart. So you see, the ability to turn lemon into lemonade is great here. Great seats we didn’t expect, and my sweetie gets to try the other dessert that caught her eye. Value: Excellent value and free parking. No city congestion and just a ½ hour ride from south shore Bathrooms: I didn’t use them but my wife said the bathrooms are aged and could use an uplift to reflect the rest of the décor. Would I return: Absolutely and I recommend a visit if you have not been there. Comments & Tips: If you like a Birdseye view of the kitchen action ask for the kitchen bar. They are high top seats and the table is more of a shelf but for me it’s the most exciting seat in the house.

So, I’ve been dying to go here. My sister in laws knew this and booked my bridal shower here(during a blizzard). My fiancé also new this and booked Valentines’s day dinner there as well(also during a blizzard). First — the shower was amazing. The food was good, the place is adorable. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Secondly — Valentine’s day. It was amazing. It was a fixed menu and all the food was amazing. I’ll be going back. Fish tacos were amazing, the beet salad was art, I’ll post a picture. The whole thing, start to finish, was just so well done. Also — the level of service was perfect.

Been here 3 times. Fantastic all 3 times. Limited menu that changes so I will probably wait until the Spring to go back again. Everyone is really nice here and I’ve always made a reservation and sat immediately. Best place in Needham, even beats Sweet Basil(IMO). The truffle fries are legit the best things you will ever eat. Get them. The fish tacos were amazing. The Kale salad is really awesome. The entrees have almost always been amazing, at worst it’s good. Really nice décor too. This place can go up against any nice restaurant making new age american food in the Boston area.

Tried the Farmhouse for the first time on Saturday night. Really excited to try it. Made a reservation and was not sat until 50 minutes later. The hostess was a joke– unfriendly and unwelcoming. There was clearly no reservation process in place because she just wrote down everyone’s name who had a reservation on a piece of paper as they arrived and acted as though there was a system– there was not. You got sat as she felt. Tried to make it up with an order of the saltiest chips I’ve ever eaten. I feel terrible today because of all of the salt used in the food. Some of the dishes were good but not worth the personality of the place, prices, and service

3.5 rating. Ambiance is lively, rustic, neighborhoody. Great for a date night or a night out with friends. Welcoming staff – even the kitchen staff we walked by on our way in from the back parking lot seemed delighted to see us. Our server was attentive, enthusiastic and charming to boot. Terrific cocktails(the farmhouse mule). Fried pickles, house marinated olives and burrata were good starters(though I’ve had creamier burrata…). Ribeye and lamb chops were both delicious, especially with the puréed potatoes and root veggies. Yum! Desserts so-so but not terribly memorable. Will definitely be back to the farmhouse. Adorable and fun!

This place exceeded all my expectations, I reserved this place for my graduation dinner and it was nothing short of a masterpiece. The owners and hosts made the restaurant atmosphere so amazing that I will have to come back. We had a pre fixed menu and everyone was pleased from the amazing drinks to the butterscotch pudding! Here was the menu: First Course Crudite Marcona almonds Charcuterie and cheese Second Course Beet Salad, pistachios, Vermont buttery goat cheese Mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes Soup of the moment Third Course Nantucket sea scallops, exotic mushrooms, purple cauliflower, beurre blanc Pappardelle pasta, Beef shortribs, pecorino Vegetarian saffron risotto, spring vegetables, white beech mushrooms Fourth Course Seasonal fruit crisp, icecream Butterscotch pudding, English toffee Sorbet

Came here on a Monday and had excellent service. With the exception slow drink service, the waitress was super nice and helpful and even fist bumped us when we ordered an extra dessert. Wine list was good. Had an excellent rose. My husband had a lemonade concoction they invented for him that was super yummy. They serve really fresh good bread and butter. We started with burrata which was very tasty but small. I had white gazpacho for my meal which was really healthy and fresh and flavorful. I tried the lobster risotto which was very generously sized and tons of lobster. Good deal for the price. Scallop dinner was smaller but also good. Carrot cake in a jar sounds like it would be so good but it’s average. I make a better carrot cake. Same goes for chocolate bread pudding. But the caramel pudding should be illegal. Delicious!!! Compliments of the chef too! We didn’t even order it All in all great night out and easy parking out back!
