So my friends and I have been going to Beckets for about 15years and yes it is a «dive bar» but not in the negative sense… if you don’t let the divvy-ness get to you it is a great place… it is homey and non threatening… no food but good on tap drinks and if you want you could bring in food… great Italian restaurant next door… Good jute box with internet connection and a great pool table which is never busy !! Also during the Holidays they decorate the bar beautifully… which is a lot of fun and makes it very cozy… I would definitely give it a try !

Went here to play some darts. Nice atmosphere, drinks were reasonably priced, pool table was level and pool sticks were straight. Additionally, the juke box has a solid selection.

Bar is great for a local establishment. Often times you can go there late at night during the week and have the place be nearly empty. I find it nice to drink with a friend and be able to talk without having to talk over music and other people. The bar tenders seem to change frequently, but the beer and liquor selection is excellent for a small place. I’m also fond of the way there are tables set up behind the bar seats, so if you come with a few people you can easily chat and drink facing each other with the bar in easy reach. Close to my house so for a local dive it’s 5 stars.

Dive bar. Strange little place on Smithtown blvd that goes late and has all the trappings of a dive bar — without being overly seedy. Mens room: no ice in the urinal, but it definitely had that permanent urine aroma wafting through the cell block looking box that passes for the men’s room here. Bar: long and full of seats with a basket of potato chips here and there. The usual collection of beers and booze and a bartender that looks a lot like Joan Cusack. The clientele: the expected collection of beer pong players, assorted misfits and the odd couple looking for a few more pops before heading home. The bouncers: an extremely fat guy with his fat friend apparently use the«if you can’t beat them, sit on them» approach to keeping the rowdiness under control. Prices were decent, there are some tables and video games scattered around and pool table and a juke box. Worth a shot if you are not quite ready to go home yet. Parking in front.

A real laid back place, great to bring a group of friends to. Never seems to get too crowded so you won’t be waiting for a drink. They have darts and a pool table that are usually available or a short wait. The service is pretty decent, all the bartenders that I have met are at the very least friendly. For a small bar they have a good liquor selection and some pretty good beers on tap. They have a jukebox so there is good music playing as long as you’re feeding the machine. Also when they run specials they have some great prices.

In my recent tradition of reviewing dive bars, here is a real gem! I used to go here when we knew a bartender that worked there. I used to always complain WTF do we have to go to that place. Slowly it grew on me… This place really has all walks of life. From college kids, to regulars, to downright strange people, they are all here. There pretty much are no rules at beckets, nothing cheesy like no flaming shots or anything like that. Of course that is why when we walked in there and asked for«backdraft» shots, the Moby looking bartender that was mad cool had a smile ear to ear. They always have the latest version of golden tee golf to take on your buddies, a jukebox playing pretty much anything, and a pool table. All of the halLmarks of a dive bar. Seems intimidating going there, but it is not bad at all, and I have never seen problems there. Friendly people and friendly bartenders.
