Adorable little bead and jewelry making supply shop in downtown Nevada City. Took my first class there today, in which we learned how to make Viking Knit bracelets. The owner Pam is a wonderful teacher.(Her hubby who also runs the store seemed like a peach as well.) She is both encouraging and precise, and she handed out detailed instructions. You can be assured you’re going to walk away with knowledge you can apply on future projects. It was a ton of fun and I love my bracelet! I’ll be going back soon.

I’ve taken classes and bought supplies here. Pam and her husband are so helpful. Their prices are often better than online, no shipping fees. They are always willing to help me, which online websites can’t. I don’t know what I would do without a local company like this to get supplies I need on demand. I took a class for a mother’s day gift, I hope to make more gifts for christmas. Ask them about their free open hours around christmas. Give the store pup a pet too; he’s so polite. Support your local suppliers. I wish you prosperity Mana Beads.

Mana Beads, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Your owner is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, friendly, generous, friendly.. . and did I mention friendly? She took the time to jot down a Web address with Tila bead patterns for me, helped my friend(who was new to beading) select great beads for her project, and chatted with me at length about selling jewelry online. Your selection of Czech beads is wonderful. I love coming in specifically to find Czech pressed-glass flower beads because you have such a big selection and your prices are competitive with other brick-and-mortar stores. You sometimes carry close-out beads from other dealers at great prices. Your store is attractive and located in a pretty tourist town. You offer many classes for beaders with varying degrees of experience. Yep, I’m a fan of Mana Beads. :-)

What a great find this place was… it’s in a gorgeous setting at the top of a hill in the tourist district. If you like historical buildings and mom & pops, go to Nevada City. Mana Beads looked really inviting with reddish wood on the outside and a big ol’ porch, kind of an upscale log cabin look. There was a friendly, helpful woman running the place, and a cute dog sunning in the window. Pure Foothills charm… Also, the bead selection is amazing, and reasonably priced. There are several tables filled with just about every type of bead you’d want(and some you never even thought of). Also some cool jewelry and other gift-type items. I definitely recommend this sweet little shop!
